I first thought a Dodge Power Wagon, but the front and the cab/door lines aren't quite it. I think you have it on the International.

Just lay some thoughts out. I have a couple of PSA buys, rifles and pistols. No issues at all with them. The 16" rifle in 9 is a bit picky with ammo, some seem to give FTF issues. Doesn't happen with good stuff, but Freedom Munitions reloads seem to be the cause. The 8" pistol is a hoot, as they say. Eats anything I load. And it gets real hungry at the range. It's just as I got it from PSA, minus the SBA, I put a blade on it. Like them, but the side charger thing really calls out to me. I like that. Guess I'll be checking out the Extar.

A very generous offer my friend, but I fear you have me confused with someone who really likes that Ruger. Now if you'd pony up a nice CZ I'd be willing to talk.

Tell him the great hipower approves of his work! lol Man if I ever can get my knee/back/feet all working well, I'll try to get up there. Wonder if the boss would still honor the range pass from last time purchase. It's been a while. But this seems like a good time for a little story/comment on an establishment in Hendersonville. Susan needed to do some shopping last week up that way, so I thought I could stand 20/30 minutes and maybe shoot a few rounds. I have/had 3 passes given to me at G&L H'ville. Three purchases. The last was a 19x. Really didn't like it. Sold it to a good man here, and that reminds, I got to check on him. Haven't seen a post in a while. But back to my tale...Wife dropped me off. I checked in. Pulled out a pass and was told it was no good. They did not honor/accept them any more. What? Why not? I asked, very puzzled like. A lady behind the counter told me that they had "lost too much money with people making copies of them and coming in." And...they had done this last year. I should have come in sooner with them to use them. OK, I can see her point...I guess. But should have made some effort to inform me/others about this. A mass email to customers perhaps? I mean, you have a list of purchasers. Firearms and signins for range use. No, can't use them. I should have come in sooner/more often. To her...and the other employees listening...I said " I was given these as I made a purchase here. Three of them in fact. Rather large, at least to me. Totaled near3K. I was told use them any time. No time limit. No time limit or expiration date on the pass.. I made a purchase and as a good faith appreciation gesture given passes and use them when I wanted. Ok I'm here." Lady said no. Turned her back on me and I guess the conversation was over for her. Ok. I can accept that it's their Business, and it can be run in a way suiting them. I do understand that. But as a past customer, possibly permanently past, I thought it might be a poor PR play. All this said in normal, conversational tones. I was not an ass as I have been known to be at times. I was not happy about it and said so. Just stating my feelings on the situation. As I was leaving, the young man behind the range check-in counter called over to me and said he would give half off on the range fee. I didn't ask for it. I assume it was Lady Mgr's call. I don't know. So ok, I did stay. But the whole thing sort of irks me still. Their store. Their rules. My money...My choice of where to spend it. Maybe I should have just kept this to myself. Probably should. But feels good to tell about it. I think you would see both sides here. Might not agree with my stand, but you would see it anyway. Just my tale and my opinion. Now back to our conversation steelharp; regardless of the pass deal. I do hope to get up that way and catch up with you sometime. I still got a PPQ 45 with your name on it. lol

Thanks for the post. I've been looking at the 2 tubes Amazon has available and considering them. I believe you just made up my mind. lol Actually just realized you said ebay. I'' compare them. -
Got mine today. Looks like a quality mag. Good as any I've bought anywhere, or those included with pistols. Reminds me of the high gloss mags from mec gar. Real shiny black finish. Empty mag drops free like it was launched when using the mag release. Not so good with the 10 round plastic mags. Used the Glock mag loader that came with my 43x. A little stiff in loading, but I did get a full 15 rounds in all 3 mags. Tried cycling the rounds and first round picked up well. Found it took a very strong stroke to eject from a loaded mag. Might just be me. No marks on the feed lips after 2 mags. Without shooting them yet, I'm pretty pleased. Will try them soon.

That's Linda "The Gambler Returns'' Evans! She always had that sad, haunting beauty going for her.

It finally sank in. I knew something was puzzling me about your post. OHC6 with a 4bbl? Don't think I ever ran across that. Any comments on it you'd care to make?

Always wanted a LeMans/GTO. One of the "better families" in town bought a their son a LeMans Blue 67 GTO automatic as a HS Junior. Everybody, including me, wanted to get hold of it. But Mike was the only guy I knew at school that wasn't interest in the car for the power or street racing! To him, it was just a car to drive. Smart guy I guess. But it sure was wasted on him. I've always thought the 67 GTO to be one of the prettiest cars ever built.

Dang, I should have caught that. I thought she looked as if I'd seen that face before. My brother-in-law is a friend of Oleg Volk. The b-i-l had lent him weapons for his photo shoots a couple of times. During a trip delivering some, I met Oleg and a couple of his models as they were getting ready for a shoot, and I believe the girl in the above pic was her. Oleg Volk is a heck of a photographer! I've seen a few shots not in his discarded stuff, things he considered "not usable". PHFFT! I wish I had that talent. And the opportunities to be around all the exotic weaponry, and the women, he works with.

That's what I thought as well.

True. But I can't get that(physically) in/out of my vehicle any more. Plus, I couldn't get it thru the doors at H'ville G&L...IF I went there any more. But that's a story for another time.

They are nice range boxes, a bit out-dated by today's standards, but very practical and easily (over)packed. I always like the ability to take 4-6 guns at one time. But then you needed ammo and extra mags. The storage under the slide was good for 8-10 boxes more or less, and those having the magnetic strip on the inside cover could get maybe 6-8 mags easily. All that gets to be pretty bulky, and heavy. Then the guys that shot a lot each time were seen with 2 boxes. One usually modified to hold a lot more ammo. Do you realize how much, and how heavy a full box like that can be? This was me in the early to mid 80's I took those 2 boxes every time I went shooting. By the time I carried them in, unloaded and got set up, I was pooped! No wonder I was such a lousy shooter. It took me a while, but I realized I didn't need an arsenal each time I went to the range. Started carrying 3-4, not even all the same caliber. So that sort of lightened the load. But again, that darn box, and after shifting to bags; it was too much. The smart set, the young and older shooters I see today seem to come in with one pistol maybe half a dozen boxes of ammo, and their "eyes and ears" in a bag. Me? Nope. I'm still overpacking. lol Two or Three guns and ammo. But I'm starting to see the light. Next time out...0ne Pistol and ammo! No more! Sure.

Thanks, guys. Giving a bit of thought to going tomorrow, but I'm still not walking too well. So the wife will probably win out on this one. She's afraid I'll fall, and truthfully, she's right. I couldn't take several hours stand and doing the turkey shuffle thru all the aisles. But I'd sure like to go. lol -
A bit off-track, but anyone still have/use one of those type range boxes? I still have one my Dad made(needs a lot of tlc though) and a Packmeyer as well. Pretty much just a conversation piece for me. I found them getting just a bit too heavy after I turned 40. lol

I've been told the Trinity lane location takes them and electronic devices. From my experience, the location off Two Mile Parkway, near the Cumberland River, is pretty restrictive on the amount of stuff you brine, the type of waste materials, and dump prices were pretty high. But my last contact with this location was almost 2 years ago.

Grunt67, did you see many individuals selling? Or any sort of restrictions mentioned? Thanks. -
Last tube model I had was a console unit. Got industrious/crazy with it. Removed all the guts and made a strange looking stand for the first flat screen I bought. As screen sizes got larger, I found the stand not to my liking anymore. It finally got knocked apart and sent to the dump with other wood products. The tube? What tube? No stinking tubes around here. lol I had an accident moving the parts. And well...they sorta got swept up into a big trash bin.

Point one. I loved the video! Hilarious! I had to watch it twice. Point two. I love the "slap" on my Scorpion. Point three. People will buy the pistols and the MP5 clone. Why? Price. Not everyone can afford a 600+ pistol. Yes, I know MSRP vs retail, but still hits darn close to 600 for a Glock. And my Scorpion, well to be honest I'm in it pretty deep with HB parts and SB stocks, but still we're looking at 1200+ for one. Unless you get one of the very good deals on one here. lol But really, price will get more buyers. Buyers equals more shooters. More shooters hopefully will mean more aware citizens, and a continued life as we know it. Crudely put, but I think you get the idea. As for me, the 2 pistols interest me. A lot. Yep, I got Glocks, but others as well. So another 9...why not. Been giving some thought to the PSAK's as well. And the PSAK9 is just drool worthy for me.
-
Agreed. Love mine.

Heck I don't know. The longer I look at this the more squirrely ideas I get. One minute I agree with kahrman, then I think the size and scale of the lower stock on the rifle is different from the other one. Then there seems to be a band/strap around the foregrip near the soldier's belt pouch, and looks like another above his hand. And is that really a bayonet?
-
I look at it and wonder if it's not some deteroiation of the edges of the picture? That black area is so ragged at the edge that makes it difficult to be sure. I also thought at first it migh be some sort of table or bench in front of him with a buffalo rug on it. lol Farfetched idea, but I get them.

What was your last/next range toy? [with pictures]
hipower replied to DaveTN's topic in Show and Tell
Yes, I was. Had no idea what it was. Thanks for letting me know.
