  1. Yes...but she looks good doing it! Went away and then had to come back and comment on this again. lol Slightly off from the original intent here, but...do you notice how clean and classy she looks? Even while giving that little 50's sweet and sassy smile? What's happened to a big percentage of the female population these days? To me, they are beginning to look...well...sort of low class to almost "lady of the evening" styles. I see the classic beauty of the 40's and 50's and just wonder what the hell happened. Ok, yes. I am officially an old man with thoughts and values that are mostly outdated.
  2. Yes, those are some things I have considered. All but the neighbors. Flaming liberals all around me. I'm surprised how quickly our street went Dem/Bernie/Warren/Hilary. Just the result of all the new people moving in.
  3. Yes pop pop it is. At least you have the kids and grandkids to leave an heirloom and some wonderful memories to. We have no children. I have no siblings, and my wife has one brother. Gifting is a slender option for me. The contemporaries in my family are either not interest in firearms, or not someone I would give my collection to. I guess I'll hope for better situation next year for sales. Or maybe a raffle? I have more thinking and planning to do.
  4. You know, I think if I'm honest, and I believe others might have these thoughts; in the dark recesses of our collective minds, I think many of us have had that thought/delusion. In my younger days, I envisioned myself as the one others looked to for help and maybe protection. That comes from reading to many TEOTWAWKI books. Nowadays, in my fairy tale life, I've come to see myself as the old fart who has a stash that others find and use to save themselves. I see no way of surviving past the initial wave and exchange of fire. Too old in body, never was in good physical condition like the young warriors of today, and the legs and back are shot. Maybe the next year will offer better selling possibilities, and fewer pains.
  5. Good News!! Just ordered 4 from Galanti International. As I was scanning emails, I saw theirs and thought I'd give a try. They are in stock as of 4:32 and priced at 20.95 each(if I haven't already forgotten. I did pick up the TX22 this afternoon, and I'll comment later on how it handles on the range. But my initial reaction is one of great pleasure. Fit and finish seem quite good(yeah for a plastic pistol lol). Feels just as good in the hand as I remembered. I'd only gotten to see one and it was sold. So I was really hoping my memory was right about it. The trigger is just about the best I've ever felt on a Taurus pistol. Has a smooth take up. Then it stops and breaks cleanly. No gritty feel at all. And for those of us who like this... a 1/4 at most reset, and it is audible. I can't wait to test this out.
  6. Yep. That seems to be the case. But had to try. lol I pick up the pistol tomorrow. Range time with only 2 mags is terrible! Ordered the Plus3 extensions for the mags, and a loader assist from Tandemcross. At least I'll get a few test rounds.
  7. Pretty silly question at this point, but anyone know where I might find 2 or 3 16 round mags for this TX22? I've tried the common sources, joebob's to Taurus site, and done multiple general google searches with different terms. Still come up with nothing. 10 rounders can be gotten easily, but that defeats the purpose of getting the TX22. Just thought some of the TGO magic might come in with a solution.
  8. Sadly, I too am beginning to think like this. I would like to sell off a few, but not wanting to take the kind of hit that seems to be the norm right now. Foolishly, I've actually bought a few more this year, and now feeling some pangs of regret. Heck, I still have things I haven't fired yet. Some of those are NIB, some are used and just added to the pile. I guess my hopes for a quick sale are pretty slim at the moment. I find myself also considering selling the TGO knives I bought. I think I have 6 or 7 of them now. That was a bigger bad move than all the guns. lol But...I hope to go to G&L in H'ville in the morning for a little session. Just to relax.
  9. All these ads make me curious about the G2 and coming G3 series pistols from Taurus.
  10. Bought many things from HF over the last 10 or so years. I totally agree with you. Anything you buy should be considered temporary and a soon-to-be throwaway item. The only exceptions, for my use, have been the hardwood furniture dollys and a couple of the tool carts. The furniture dollys have been very strong. I've moved safes as well as other large and heavy items. Used them to make wheel bases for cabinets and portable storage boxes for my wife. The tool carts are ok. All SnapOn knockoffs, and unless you get one already assembled...a pain in the butt to put together. Lately, I've gotten a couple of the Poly/plastic carts. Very sturdy, easily assembled. and 500lb rated, and the caster seem very sturdy and well made. Now using them as bases for some medical supply cabinets I acquired. They work well. OK...my 2cents on Harbor Freight.
  11. As with many of us, I also know what you are going thru. My father-in-law, a retired builder in the Nashville area, had just about any tool associated with building/contracting. And knew haw to use them all. He taught me a few things as well. But as he aged, it was very hard to watch him acknowledge the lose of his abilities. Physical, and then mental deterioration, came on pretty quickly. He always told us to get anything we wanted and could use. I got a few small things, mostly as mementos; but left the big stuff for those who could actually use them. We lost him earlier this year. My wife is struggling with that. She walks around and sees things he built or had a hand in. Help him while you can. It will all be gone someday.
  12. Does have some similarity to the Thumb-hole AK, but just loses all likability from there.
  13. Well...that settles it. Magic is finally proven wrong. lol But that rifle is still so ugly I cannot imagine actually going out and searching to buy one.
  14. I have a less pretty one than yours. I bought it some years back as well. Looks sort of like it was dropped several times. Scratched up and the adjustable sight has both rear corners almost knocked off they are so round. But shoots well. And that's all that really matters.
  15. Very nice rig! Must admit I've not handled the G45 yet, but have seen many favorable, and a few not so favorable comments on it. In any event, I will have to take a look at it next trip to the "store". I saw you mentioned divesting yourself of more G19s. Have you listed them yet? Might be able to pick up one to add to my Glock stable. Just in the interest of "spare parts". lol
  16. Wife's pistol...Smith 351PD. 'Nuff said.
  17. You said it best. Amen. My poor prayers for you all.

    TAURUS G3

You think I should buy a G3 to use all those Canik mags I have? lol I actually do have several "extra" mags. Don't want to run out.
  19. You guys are making me want the compact 9. I have the 941f, and a 941 in 45; but no 9. Maybe I need to put some effort into remedying the lack of a 9.
  20. Somewhat of a Gerber fan here. I had 2 of the Gerber Paraframe Minis and the last year's Secret Santa gave me another. I have one on the desktop beside me right now, one on the dresser to grab when going out, and one in my car. They are great little do-almost-everything you want knives. And should you damage one, or break the blade doing all those things we aren't supposed to do with a knife...you won't cry over the loss.
  21. I've used Prvi ammo for years without issues. I like it. Especially the 9mm.
  22. Thanks hughd. I didn't find that fast enough.
  23. Brother-in-law has a similar setup in the bed of his truck. It runs wheel well width, and about 3-4 foot in length, and think about 6" in depth. It's a commercial product, sort of costly if I remember his comments. It's really nice, well built, and supposedly "waterproof". If I can catch up with him, I'll try to get some info on it.
  24. That's one fine stock. I've had a Thorsden on my wish list for a while. Just need to break down and do it.
