  1. I like it. But did the blade shrink on you? lol Sorry, I'm just wacky tonight. Seriously though, seems a bit short on the blade length to me. Bet it would look awesome with a long blade. But I'm not doing them, so my opinions don't matter, and I couldn't do what you did either.
  2. RK Guns Rural King farm supply, had an ad for the LCPII today for 199 I believe.
  3. Jamie, I have no personal experience with the LCPII. I actually don't remember even holding one. But on the asthetics alone, I think I'd go with version 2. Looks to me like it would be more comfortable to hold and possibly more controllable and accurate. That's my take on it. I did do a little looking this morning and see retail on the LCPI hovering around 200. PSA, on the few sites I visited, seemed to have that 200 price point with the shipping. I did check Buds, and of course Saw the LCPII with a CT...really liked it. lol But with my lust for a CF Jericho 941, I don't see myself buying another 380. Actually probably won't go for the Jericho either, as I have run out of room in the safe, and money. I think Moped's comments, and the links supplied, would have me favoring the LCPII over the Pico.
  4. Thanks for this. I found it a good refresher course. All too often we/I can get complacent in our shooting; especially the guys like me who don't have a set regimine of practice or competition.
  5. I think you'll like it. An LCP was my standard pocket carry for years. Then came the Shield. lol The LCP was relegated to very occasional use. But I won't let it go. I got way too much in it to part with it. Bought it with a CT laser package right after it came out. Just something about a small pistol and a laser that keeps me holding on to it. I've been pleased with it, and although it is only a bit smaller than the Shield...as you say, it does have it's place.
  6. What if I hit the clamps?
  7. While re-reading this thread, a question came to mind. What do you use for personal testing of various 380 rounds? (or any caliber, for that matter?) I know I did some "testing" with phonebooks back years ago. But those are hard to find now. I might take some older hardcover books and see. Yes, I know there are many videos and ballistic gel tests available. I just like seeing things myself.
  8. I have to admit I have no experience with this round. I can't say that I've ever tried a flat-nosed round in a 380 pistol. I should think it would function well, and with a fn95 grain, it might provide a touch more "stopping power" with the flat surface hit(?). I just really don't know. But I think I'm going to try a variety of brands on my order of 380. A few jhp, and some Armscor and Aguila. It's been a long time since I did any serious shooting with my Browning BDA, which has been my fav 380 pistol; so trying some different brands/loads/HP would be a good thing for me to do. I checked my "bunker" this morning, and found I actually had close to 500 rounds of 380, most of it Fiochi, and one box of Critical Duty HP. So I must have tried some in the BDA. I just don't remember it. I'll get some coming, and let you know my thoughts on it after the season ends. Got a little minor surgery coming up, so I won't be out for several weeks. I wish you a Merry Christmas, and the same for anyone reading this prattling old man's commentary!
  9. Maybe you are right...maybe not. lol For me, have ordered the Taurus TX 22, with it's 16 round capacity. I absolutely hate loading any 22 magazine. When I shoot 22 handguns, I try to have all I have pre-loaded before getting to the range. And if mag costs are close to reasonable, I like having 6 or even more mags ready. That way, I can empty about half then take a breather and load the empties. Just my way of enjoying the time. I've said here before, the best and favorite 22 shooter of mine is a G22 with an AA upper on it. But it has the absolute worst mags for loading, no problems, just a pita to load. Worse than Ruger, Smiths or even older High Standards. So the higher capacity on the Taurus was important to me. Now that the G44 has debuted, I'll be waiting to see if Glock decides to go for greater capacity as well. With their mag reliability, surely they can produce something that equals the Taurus.
  10. That's a beauty! You did very well on it. I've had several in my hands and walked away. Regretting it every time.
  11. Thanks. I saw that earlier this evening, but appreciate the effort you made. I've used the Geco, but had settled in on the Prvi for my 380 choice. It just seemed a bit hotter to me. Of course that doesn't mean I won't try some on the Beretta Model 81 I got from CF. For my 32 choice, again...I chose the Prvi fmj 71, for the same reason. As for the 25, I'll have to find a load I like in Dad's little Beretta. Really haven't and won't shoot it a lot. But I'm down to I think a box and a half of ???...lol, to save my life; I can't think of the brand on it sitting here. It's a personal choice, but in the past, I've always stayed with the fmj over the hp. Just thought a bit more penetration from it. Not really up on the characteristics of some of the current hp and jhp rounds for the "mouse guns". And that's a little tribute to one of our lost TGO Brothers...Mousegunner. A few years ago, I had a few long, late night conversations with him back during my cancer days. May that gentleman be Resting in Peace with our Maker. And I'm sure he is.
  12. I got to look into this. lol Just because I have a smart tv, that doesn't mean I'm smart. Sadly. Been getting highly PO'd, like most people lately, with Comcast. I think the final straw was this week when the bulk of the Stars channels went into On Demand. Just makes it harder for my wife, and me too, to find what we want. And when AMC and TMC were dropped out of our package, it just ticked off my wife bad. Since she retired last month; she's been recuperating from a very stressful last couple of years. Has become something of a couch potato. And I'm about at my wits end with all the Hallmark channels. I mean, I like the shows, but a steady, almost non-stop viewing has led me to hide in the office more and more.
  13. True. But it still hurts to pay for it. I personally would like to have more 32acp, 380, and even a little .25. I'll be looking and hoping for some sales on these calibers. If anyone might be interested as well...maybe split a case?
  14. I'm very happy it's all turned out well...for all of you. lol Be happy with the family and get some rest. Merry Christmas and God Bless.
  15. UPDATE as of 12/11, Dickerson Rd. and Rivergate WW shelves bare. Some 22 and shotty rounds, as well as traditional hunting calibers. I just didn't get in fast enough. lol
  16. Neither did I. lol Actually it wasn't much after all the hullaboo. Like others have mentioned the lack of a threaded barrell(I have since seen the post about availablity on it, and the mag capacity. 10 rounds? Not exactly great. Perhaps other mags coming. And I just bought the TX22. lol Like it so far.
  17. Oh heck! Now you'll have me wanting one!!!
  18. Careful guys. Don't scratch the deep paint on that car!
  19. I went a bit wacky. Have been looking thru all the ads coming in to ma, and a lot of those mentioned here. Bought a 40 round 45 drum from CF. Getting ready for that 45 carbine I've been lusting for. lol Looking at a Law Tactical folder for a certain unnamed pistol. But biggest and last buy was from Lone Wolf. I'll let you know when it comes in.
  20. I did register. lol Maybe out of boredom. I don't know. But in the requested comment, I asked for a carbine(preferably in 45acp) or a true 22 caliber Glock with working mags. I do have a 17 frame with an Adv. Arms upper, but the mags with it are a pain in the butt to load.
  21. Reading this will make me go check my leather belt slides and full holsters. I might even have to rethink my comments on the kydex/leather holsters. I've never had that situation, but I have had an AD. It was with my Dad's competition High Standard. The trigger pull on it was wonderfully short and smooth. Also very, very light. Measured around 1.5 lbs. I loaded a mag, brought it up a little high prior to dropping sights onto target. And laid my finger on the trigger. Proceeded to let off several rounds into the ceiling above the target and backdrop. Two lessons learned. Change my style of getting on target, and keep my finger away until certain I'm read for a shot. I was about 20 then. Dad had some choice words for me.
  22. Back again! I really want a commander size in 9 from the Rock Island line. The full size 9 started out as a base model/GI form. But with a set of sights, some trigger work from Sam Hoster, and a general once-over while in his shop; this sub 300 dollar gun shoots as well as my near 1k Springfield 9s. And just as much fun too. It just doesn't get a 10 in the looks department as the LT/Loaded/Champion Operator or the Range Officer Elite gets. I really have to rate the Rock at about a 6/7, my current one that is. The newer models look very much better.
  23. No knowledge of these, but they remind me of Galco holsters. I do like leather holsters, almost exclusively owb models. Not sure of the kydex/leather hybrids. They seem to be the coming thing in carry these days, but until I see and use one, I'm staying with my leather. JMO
  24. Right back atcha buddy! Seriously my friends, I'm a lot slow in passing along greetings and good wishes for everyone this year. It's been a rough on in many segments of my life, and I've let that get me down. It's probably been evident in the tone of my comments lately, and I apologize for that. I hate passing along my own misery to anyone else. So.... A very big wish for goodness and happiness for all my TGO family!!
  25. My wife has already made some rather strong comments about my little pastime...
