I've shot a Glock 29. Recoil not a problem. Finding ammo was. A 10mm Glock 20SF would be my ideal camping sidearm. 16 rounds of controllable cannon fire in an affordable lightweight platform with a rail for a light.

Wow! Guess I'm the only guy who actually sleeps with a pistol under my pillow. 2nd Gen G19 w/ Ameriglo's or my new to me Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec if I'm feeling frisky. Plain jane Mossberg 500A stands guard day and night. Cheapest gun I own, one I've cleaned the least, guards the others when they're locked up or I'm gone. Dangit, I need to give that gun some lovin'.... see you guys tomorrow

I am curious if you had the web of your hand as high as it would go, and the bottom meaty part of your thumb/hand directly behind the Glock when you handled it. I have small hands, especially compared to some of you gorillas, and a proper grip makes a HUGE difference. Especially once you start actually shooting. Most new shooters want, me included, to grip a glock like a hammer focusing on the bottom of the grip. But your focus needs to be on keeping a high grip. I'm obviously no instructor, just want you to have a Glock 19 like the rest of us

Thank you oriental express for taking the plunge.

Remember it's nice to have a local gunshop. Definitely do some serious research and then go make him a polite offer if you still want the pistol. Also you could buy a new Glock for that price, just saying... oops back on topic. Fobus holsters are cheap. I've seen used Crimson Trace grips for Beretta's between 1-2 hundred bucks somewhere online. The pistol could have led a simple life... Or it could have been on the hip of my uncle and banged on every doorway and vehicle it entered. I'm just saying you should find out the problem areas.for frame/slide cracking/ failure and INSPECT. And you do realize you can't actually shoot a happy face in a target with a Beretta?

I was told they are imported with steel sights which are promptly removed and sent back to Austria. Of course the same dealer who told me this said the RTF2 G19's weren't going to ever be released because there was no demand. SFS- steel fixed sights or SHOOTS FO SHO!

You got a great deal on a gun that ends the stopping power debate. A shotgun when needed is priceless. Shoot it till your wrist/shoulder hurt and then do it again. And again...

Extra $ and AR's simply don't go well together.

Sweet! No more telling people they can shoot it till they get tired of loading it.

I find my Springfield Mil-Spec much more difficult to shoot accurately than my Glock. However last range visit I really focused and had 4 shots touching out of 7 while testing out some Winchester white box HP's. That has NEVER happened with my Glock unless I was shooting with the baseplate resting on a concrete table. Have fun adn be safe!

Beautiful finish. Let us know how it holds up.

2nd Generation Glock 19 for me. Next Glock will be another 19, hopefully a RTF2. Would also like a 26, 17, 17L, and a 34..... wish Glock would make a true single stack 45 for those of us who have to go 1911 for a full size 45.

I bought a slightly used Springfield Mil-Spec. Other than night sights I will be leaving it as is. I recommend you decide exactly what you want from your 1911. Easier said than done, Good Luck.

Great trade. Don't forget the 9mm conversion barrel. After you become accustomed to your Glock you will realize what a great deal you got.

The longer you own a G19, the more you'll appreciate it. Enjoy!

WOW! I love the boot solid folding stock. That is one bad mother shutyomouth! Congratulations!

If only the Eotech had a sensor that when you picked it up it turned on..... Personally, I would reach for my shotgun and would like a sight that was already turned on, enough other stuff to worry about. FWIW I have an Eotech on my AR and a brass bead on my Mossberg. AR and Eotech live in the safe and the Plain Jane Mossberg stands at the ready. Not the best plan but that's how it stands at the moment.

I'd love to see the muzzle flash at dawn or dusk.

Got the wife a present on Friday (and something for me too!)

WOW! I need LAYAWAY..... gonna be a sweet carbine.

I built a Del-Ton kit on a Doublestar stripped lower. I wanted a 16 inch mid length gas system with a chrome lined 1:9 twist barrel and this was the cheapest way for me to get it. Decide what you want, do some googlin, and make your choice. Have Fun!

Wow! Never thought a SP101 could look so good.

I've emptied a 50 Cal ammo can of Walmart copper plated 22LR in 8 months with my Ciener conversion. My friend has put over 10,000 lead rounds through his. Both of us have chrome lined 1:9 barrels. Neither of us has had a problem that cleaning and lubrication didn't solve. I can only get 5 or 6 inch groups at 50 yards. I was hoping for half that but I just shoot it at the pistol range now with my Eotech and have a great time. My only regret is that I only have 1 Black Dog magazine. If you want to have fun shooting close range get it. If you are a more serious target shooter save up for a dedicated upper.

Nice family photo. I guessing you're a SIG guy

I can only assume that this could be done with a perfect head shot or with the deer facing you so the bullet destroys the heart & lungs. Maybe you could start out with cats and dogs and slowly work your way up to deer. For the record I have several cats and dogs and love them all. BUT my country bumpkin friends control the animal population with rimfires. Ask around, maybe someone is having a pest problem and you could help them and find out what happens after you pull the trigger. Happy Hunting!
