  1. Sorry to hear this, she sounds like a fantastic lady. Prayers for peace during this difficult time.
  2. I'd love to see some pictures of the failed pistols as well. A target that looks like someone threw a handful of nuts and bolts at it doesn't help much.
  3. Give him a call... https://m.facebook.com/pages/Old-Mothers-Cupboards/130328722822
  4. I toured Saw Works a while back, super nice folks. At the time, they were one of two microbreweries in TN, Calfkiller being the other one. I know that Saw Works sends beer to Asheville and Nashville, but only in kegs. The guy said there was something screwy with the laws that forced them to only distribute in kegs. I forget why. Incidentally, a good friend of mine used to be neighbors with the Calfkiller guys. They brewed the beer in a barn and he'd walk over occasionally and taste test whatever they were working on at the time.
  5. Old Mother's Cupboards is (was?) my neighbor. He does good work.
  6. Quit being so dang picky and just hone them a little. ;)
  7. Interesting story. The more I've read about WWII in Europe, the more I believe a very large percentage of the regular German army hated the war, nazis in general, and specifically the SS.
  8. Coworker shot a nice 8 pointer last weekend.  Said a group of 4 does came meandering by, then another doe appeared followed moments later by the buck.
  9.     All you have to do is remove the carburetor and distributor and ship them separately.  Then it's not a car, its car parts.
  10. Interesting, and at about 15mins from the house pretty tempting too.  Looks to be across the street or adjacent to Smoky Mtn Sports Club, which is Blackberry Farms' private range.
  11.     If course it will.  A 300 grain 9mm bullet moving at about 3000 ft/s should work fine.  :)
  12. Interesting, thanks gents.   :)   I've never cared much for tanto blades.  At the least it seems like it would be a PITA to sharpen (for a hack like me).
  13. That's just crazy talk...
  14. Makes me wonder if this is only the latest distraction, and what is he trying to distract us from?
  15. I got that email too. Wish I had the cash.
  16. What's the purpose of the type of tip on that knife as compared to a more "normal" tip like on OS's knife?
  17.     "honoring the request to withdraw services" ...   I imagine that was something like ..." well if you f'ing f's can't f'ing get this done any f'ing faster than that without f'ing it up 10 times along the f'ing way, I'll go find someone who f'ing will!"    It's a shame there's not video of that "discussion".  I bet it'd be the next youtube sensation.
  18.     Pay to remove them?  Heat gun, razor blade, and an hour or so is all it takes.   And they've certainly gotten more free advertising than they ever dreamed of...

    Anti seize

Just be aware that when the container says "high temperature" or "extreme pressure" or other such generalizations... they're exactly that, generalizations.  Pretty much everything referenced here says "high temp", but when you look at the specs that ranges from 290F to 1800F.  That's quite a difference.  The MSDS will tell you what's in the grease, unless it's some proprietary mix that they want to withhold as a trade secret.
  20.     I had the same thought.... can he legally withhold services to a specific area?  It's a taxpayer funded government entity.  How is that within his authority?  Clearly its not the most ethical thing to do, but they are politicians...

    Anti seize

Yep.           The product data sheet says good up to 325F with 500F excursions.  So a couple consecutive mag dumps may cause it to break down.
  22. I feel for the guy, but I can't imagine trading in a work truck without removing the decals first.    And yes, the people that have called and threatened them.... that's a special kind of stupid.
  23. I think those guys need a lesson on conflict resolution from my 1st grader.
  24. Awesome! And you suck. Even more so if that's your back yard. :)
  25. A dung heap with nice beaches, good cigars, and hot women.
