  1. Is the crane/ejector rod bent? Do any of the cylinder faces show rub marks to match up with the forcing cone scratches? I used to have a Ruger Security Six that fell out of a crappy holster and landed on the side of the cylinder. It acted pretty much the same as you describe. I was lucky enough to be able to straighten it out enough without having to send it in for repair.
  2. The simply rugged holsters I have purchased have been well worth the cash.
  3. I would be very surprised if you are able to recover any loss of value from your insurance company. As mentioned before that will probably involve a lawsuit against the other driver.
  4. I was at Buds in Sevierville 2 weeks ago and they had a new Browning Hipower. It was priced at $1049.00 plus tax etc.
  5. Clear as mud! Thanks for the research. Sometimes to much time to think is not always a good thing. No impending purchases planned, was just wondering.
  6. Are there any regs prohibiting or regulating where a gun sale can be made? In essence, can a Tn resident sell a gun to another Tn resident in a state other than Tn?
  7. He didn't lie, he misremembered. Apparently it's contagious.
  8. Was thinking about you today also, hope you get back to feeling up to snuff soon.

    Buds

Have you perhaps called Buds and spoken with a manager about the situation and the counter persons attitude? It maybe beneficial for lots of other customers in the future.
  10. Are there any Aspen Dental Clinics near you? There is one in Morristown and they work weekends and evenings I believe.
  11. First Baptist Church,Morristown has a dental clinic they operate on a sliding scale payment plan. Not sure about income requirements or days it's open. Maybe give the church office a call if you can't get in anywhere soon.
  12. In a time when people are getting their throats cut and being set on fire for their beliefs, someone scamming a box or two of ammo from a buddy seems kind of trivial. I just can't get that worked up over it. Was it right ? Nope. Does life go on? Yep, for some of us. That's just me though, Ill take the criticism, bring it on.
  13. Some pretty good comments following the story.
  14. I was just checking Craigslist this evening and noticed a few ads for bottles of Pappy Vanwinkle offered for sale. Cheapest bottle I saw was for $650 all the way up to $2000 depending on age. Does it really taste that much better? I'm pretty sure I'll never know for certain. Bottles are laser coded? I thought I was a big shot when I was given a $50 bottle of rum for Christmas.
  15. Currently clear and 67. Forecast for clear and 83 tomorrow. Snuck out about 4:00am this morning to head south. I wasn't going to leave until tomorrow morning but chickened out after watching the forecast change eleventy seven times last night.
  16. Or do like me. Get in car and drve south for a long time. Seriously though I hate to leave my family alone during this cold snap. For us the primary concern is a back up heat source. We do have a kerosine heater and fuel for it. Hopefully it won't be needed.
  17. I looked long and hard at that ad. It was just a little to good to be true. I decided it was a scam fishing for email addresses so I held off.
  18. I can remember in the earl 80's I had some spare cash saved up. I decided I would either buy a Browning Hipower or a Python. I chose the Hipower, retail at the time was $460.00 for either. I chose the Hipower, kept it for a year or two and let it go. not my smartest gun move but I have done worse!
  19. Always tried to watch and appreciate Seinfeld show when it was in its hay days. Never could, it may have to do with the fact that a coworker at the time idolized him to the extent of mimicking him continuously.

    Real Snow

Screw this! I'm heading back to Florida for another couple months.
  21. Cue the next ammo Caliber crisis in 3-2-1........maybe if the Walmart bullet britches start hoarding this it will loosen up the 22lr supply. Looking for a sliver of hope in stupid times.
  22. I hope none of you guys get to that $300 RG that shoots like a laser before I do!
  23. Trade them both and get a 5" barrel. Ruger made a limited run for one of the big distributors a few years ago. Lipsey maybe? They are kind of hard to find but they are available. That's also not how to spell aesthetically!
  24. Its entirely possible the nicer ones were picked over by the time I got there around 11:00am. Mostly what I saw were well worn Gen2's with a few Gen3's mixed in. I did find it humorous that if you wanted a box for your Glock purchase, they were available for an additional $21.95 ea.
  25. They did have some used Glocks for $299. To call them lightly used would be quite a stretch.
