I can't even imagine the level of intelligence that the people who signed this petition possess(or lack). Not only is is just plain disrespectful but to pick THAT song and artist rapper/singer is just icing on the cake. I'm sure these are the same folks that want to change the constitution as well.

 

As others have stated before, the movie "idiocracy" is coming to mind. Heck we may be in the early stages already.

Whether you believe in the biblical account of the Flood or not, you have to admit that it makes more and more sense after seeing how bad people are becoming these days. In fact, seeing how bad our society has become, and still not getting themselves wiped off the face of the earth, makes me wonder just how bad it had to get in the early days to bring an all-knowing, loving, and long-suffering God to the point of where even He decided to just wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Nothing surprises me anymore but there sure is a lot that worries me.

I very seriously doubt that the whomever originated the petition did so with the idea that the US should seriously consider changing the national anthem to R. Kelly.  Of course, sarcasm does tend to get lost over the Internet.

Doesn't mean there aren't people who'd change it if they could get away with it though. Just like the 2nd ammendment, or the pledge of allegiance, or in God we trust, or the Ten Commandments on the walls in schools...oh wait...they got that one. Constant vigillance is the price of liberty. But man it sure would be nice to be able to relax for a little bit!
