Obama open to name change for Washington Redskins

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says that if he owned the Washington Redskins, he would "think about changing" the team name, wading into the controversy over a football nickname that many people deem offensive to Native Americans.

Suggestions on a new name anyone?  Try to keep suggestions relatively clean and tasteful ie.  don't say just remove the RED and insert FORE as an example, though IMHO the new name does reflect D.C.

Redskins is about as offensive as "fighting Irish" IMO. I have one or two relatives that take exception to the later, me, for all I care they could be called "blackout drunk Irish" wouldn't bother me any, this used to be a free country where you could say and do things like that.

Heard today that the team owner is finally knuckling under to critics who claim the name "Washington Redskins" is offensive to certain groups and has agreed to change the name simply to "Redskins."
