Dove loads?

Over the years, I have found that the quality target loads such as Winchester AA or Remington STS in 7 1/2  will outperform all others.  If you buy cheap shells, ....well you get what you pay for.  Quality shot doesn't deform as much and holds much better patterns.  Young, early season birds may fall a little easier with 'light' hits, especially with the smaller shot size, but the 71/2 will tend to anchor birds more solidly,  if you do your part.

I get too many feather puffs with the el cheapos. Last year I ran the AA Heavy Targets the first part of season and killed a high percentage of birds. I ran out and switched to low brass cheapos and got too many fly offs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Doves are hard enough to hit anyway. Hate to connect, and see them fly far enough away that you can't find them...but you know they are crippled. That's bad for both sides... the dove and the hunter. Good quality ammo in 7 1/2 is my choice. If you re-load, you can load up some special loads, just for doves.

Good luck Monday.
