I don't usually do this

I don't post much on here, I do read and learn a lot though. That being said I thought it might be nice to let some you guys see what you talked me through doing without even knowing.

This is my first build, my first AR pistol, and my first time having to determine what is legal and what is not.

This is an Anderson Arms stripped lower ($71 otd at lgs), PSA LPK and M16 BCG ($158 total), a Hardened Arms 10.5" Upper in 5.56 w/ Free float rail ($240 shipped form Gunbroker), and a cheap set of flip up irons that my local shop had on the shelf for 20 bucks, They are metal and hold very well so I like them. Then finally the SBX brace from Rockwell arms($121 shipped). That is $610 total which I think is pretty good. This is my new "truck/get me home, can be carried in my back pack range toy, and I think I am in love.........

Dang nice! Congrats! What scope is that?

It is a Sightmark red dot that I have had for years so it did not get included in the build list. Sorry about that.

that is very nice. I am about to build the same. Have you shot it yet, If so how do you like the upper?

So far I am very happy with it. I posted a reply in your thread.

I also forgot to thank OhShoot for all his posts and the leg work he put into the Sig brace questions, and both he and Dolomite for clearing up some questions I had on OAL. Also thanks to anyone who has built a pistol and posted a write up here. They were very helpful.

Looks great. I just did a pistol build awhile ago and am constantly surprised by how heavy it is compared to how little it is. For me a lot of the weight is in the cheap rail I got, I'm looking at replacements now...

How does yours balance, and have you given much though to single/ double slings at all?

Nice !!! I love sight mark prices I've hsd a few of their sights that outlast and outperform similar sights w bigger names.
Why 10.5 and not 7? Just curious...

This is the answer I have based on the research I have done. The longer the barrel can be will benefit the effects of a suppressor. Ultimately this will be suppressed (thanks again Dolomite).

It feels really balanced to me. The rail on this upper is very very light. As a matter of fact, how light this upper is, was the first thing I noticed after unboxing. If I had to guess it is some type of Yankee Hill knock off. I only say that because it attaches like a YH and uses their wrench. The sling on it is a two point/single point that I made myself with some army surplus hardware and some HK clips. Single point is really comfortable with something this short.

I want to know more about that upper. I've never heard of the brand. Do they have a good reputation? I was going to order a PSA upper but yours is signifcantly less.

It looks really good. From what I've been told you'll want to invest another $20 on a Magpul K2 grip.

Is this the same one you bought?

Really nice looking heater!

I echo this. More upright angled grip makes amazing different in ergonomics for a short LOP firearm. Takes all the tension off wrist/elbow/shoulder from the standard AR grip angle.

Hey, so what's that buffer tube? And looks like the SBX isn't nearly all the forward on it, but I can't tell what's setting it back?

as far as their reputation, I can only give my opinion because I had never heard of them either. I really just took a gamble and for right now feel like I won. I could not find any bad reviews, and the one good review that had a negative to it explained that they went out of their way to make it right, and that ws simply a loose hand guard.

It came with the PSA pistol build kit. You are correct it is not all the way forward. That thing is tight as hell and I went through half of Georgia to get it that far on. I figured as tight as it is I would slide it forward to the best spot for me and stop. I am hoping with a few shots it might go on a little further lol.

Thanks. Yeah, have read on other forums the PSA tubes are oversize,  more than the 1.02 1.20 max spec of either brace.

My PSA pistol lower came with that tube, it is oversize but I dont think it was meant for anything to be placed on it except maybe one of those foam covers. I like the looks of it as is but went ahead and put the brace on it, its a snug fit and stays put when firing.

Yeah, it is really snug. We just put 60 rds through it some in rapid fire and it did not budge.

So far so good. We shot 60 rds tonight and it seems very accurate. We used two targets, one for each of us, and each shooting a follow up shot as quick as we could but not just random rapid fire. We each made a tennis ball sized hole in the target, at about 35~40 yds.
