Christmas plans just got cancelled. Tornado went through the area where my wife's grandparents have a cabin, power is out and a lot of damage in the area. They don't live there, just a weekend spot that was left to them by a family member so everyone is OK. Will be doing Christmas with all the family at my place I guess.

The two people missing in Perry County live next to the mentioned cabin.

PS:  Good thing your boss moved your on-call to the week leading up to Christmas, huh?  Kept you from getting swept away to Oz!  :D

LOL, that's one way to look at it. Thankfully the week calmed down because the first couple of days were rough.

Everyone is here now. Grandpa swung over through there a bit ago and said the power is back on. Still talking to everyone but we will probably try and go down there for a while tomorrow still. I hope so because then I get to test out these Dawson Precision sights instead of having to wait until can make it out to the range.

heavy rain here all day.  got up this morning and had a very large tree down in the side yard.  the tree just fell over.  well it looks like i either have to cut it up myself or see what a tree crew will charge to do it.

All the rain has really made the river behind us swell. We took the back way to a friends house across the river and saw at least 4 spots where the river was about to crest and flood onto the road.

The amount of water gave me horrible memories of the 2019 flood. Once we got back up to higher ground I was feeling a wee bit better.

The missus and I completely understand you. We awoke to 3 feet of water surrounding us in 2010. Then got almost as much again in the flash flooding from the localized heavy rains in 2013.

 

We are loved by the heat pump guys. 2 systems in under 3 years.
