People Getting Stretched to Limit. Credit Card Balances Soar.
Garufa replied to AuEagle's topic in General Chat
Credit cards have been a scourge on society since the first charge plates were invented by department stores. Abuse of credit cards and the debt incurred is nothing new, it’s been going on for decades. Blaming the government for that is just silly, you either live within your means or don’t. Sure, the government can and should crack down on predatory lending practices which is exactly what credit card companies are in the business of, but then again, capitalism, responsibility, and all that jazz. I listened to my elders growing up and do not exceed my means. Fortunately, I have a good income, but it has not been easy dealing with the crap that comes along with that. Long story short, I have no sympathy for those in CC debt. I have dealt with it among family members so have seen the absolutely devastating effects it can have on one’s life and future. -

I am not at all in favor of the gov protecting us from ourselves but I find it extremely hypocritical to have all of the fair lending mandates in place for housing, yet no acknowledgement of the predatory consumer lending. -

Nice job on the rework. Have you taken it out to shoot? How did it do? Thanks, Opie. -

My shield arms combo kit shipped this morning before I asked for a cancellation. They said I could return it, so I might do that. I would just keep it, but the PSA mags don’t require a modification to the gun, and so I could still use the 10 round mags if I needed to. If I convert the gun, they say the metal mag release will tear up polymer mags so could use the current mags I have. Like JeffL posted, I also have a 365 macro with a 17nround capacity, but this one would end up being an occasional carry. I guess I will think on what to do, and decide after the kit gets here, LOL. That’s what I get for being too eager with no patience.

I really hate how the companies offer 0% for like 15 months on new accounts. They fall just short of outright encouraging irresponsible spending then reap the harvest a year later. -

The trick is getting .gov to give it back to you -
i won a shield arms s15 "combo mag pack" (3 mags and a steel mag catch) in an auction from a local pawn shop for a pretty fair price. when i went to pick it up they were second gen mags and i was a little deflated. however after running several hundred rounds through my G43x i've been very happy with them and i am now carrying that instead of my springfield hellcat (which was my carry gun the last couple of years)

Finally got my garden fertilized, disced, and ready to plant. Now it’s raining. I think it’s about to quit. If so, I’ll try to plant it later today. Man, it been wet lately! Got the tomatoes and peppers planted, and then rain resumed. I guess the seed planting will happen another day.

The Shield Arms mags have given me zero problems. That said, my Sig P365 X Macro holds 17 rounds in the same size package as the 43X.
-
Current gen's get good reviews. Their are some that have an extreme bias against Shield for the threatened lawsuit against Palmetto. PSA's mags get the same reviews if you search through both objectively. That being said, the PSA run a little cheaper and you don't have to change the mag release. I have some Shield mags and no issues. Just a preference thing to me.

I use PSA mags also in my Glock 43x and have had no problems.

Well, shoot. I ordered already from shield arms! Wish I’d seen this first!

Increased consumer spending is just another sign that Bidenomics is working and the economy is booming. If you think otherwise then you are a bigot, racist, transphobe. -
I know what you mean, I'm REALLY picky about EDC gear. I won't waste money on "close enough" either.
