  2. Note over 500 schools DO NOT have a SRO. Many schools are in rural areas and have delayed response times not to mention staff shortage. Response time is proportional to body count. TN has had armed teacher provision for the past 8 yrs in private schools, and over 30 states have it already. Point is, no student/ teacher mishaps have bee reported. All the uproar in opposition is the typical anti theatrics. Interesting to note that individual districts will bow to local politics and opt out of teacher carry completely.
  3. I have been looking for a Uberti / taylors or cimmaron 1873 short rifle in .357 with 20 inch barrel. They are not in stock anywhere. Anybody know why there is such a shortage on these? If anybody happens to see one in a LGS in East Tennessee give me a heads up please. Thanks
  4. Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~
  5. Newer PX4 model G-SD in 9mm. Has an extended mag release, a "heavy" barrel (essentially their .40 barrel but chambered in 9mm) and a Langdon-Inspired DA/SA trigger. G Model so decock only. Comes with 3 17-round magazines and one 20-round magazine. About 50 rounds through it. Asking $600. No really looking for trades.
  6. I carry Hornady Critical Defense in my 365 macro. I have some Critical Duty, with a plan to carry it in a separate magazine for specific situations, but never got around to doing it. For environments where I figure I’m most likely to have to shoot, I’m a little concerned about over-penetration or missed shots going through thin walls with the Critical Duty rounds. Not suggesting others should have the same concerns, this is just me.

  8. The pair of hummingbirds at our feeders are feeding regularly now. I have 2 feeders out, one on the front porch, and one in the back of the house. That feeder is very close to our breakfast bay picture window, and we get a show while we eat our meals. We also have 2 bird seed feeders hanging on tree limbs out the same window. Bird shows extraordinaire!
  9. Exactly right on handgun calibers being a compromise for defense. But it's what we have because it's difficult to carry a full size rifle or shotgun in a holster. So we do our best. Hard to go wrong with the brands mentioned. My boys and I run Critical Duty 135+P, Federal HST 124+P and Gold Dot 124+P. There's other good choices too. I don't know if there really is a "best" one.
  10. The Governor said on the news, last evening, He intends to sign the bill. I was wrong because I thought he would not. Egg on my face! I too agree there will not be many teachers signing up. Training is rigorous and costly. May be a few, and if not many signs up, I believe they will tweak the law next year. I think the Legislature intends to give trained willing teachers an opportunity to carry. I hope some teachers will want too. The people wanted change and they are getting it. The state has already made funds available to every school district to harden security in their schools and now it is up to the schools to take advantage of enhanced security measures and implement them. IMO every school district should have a security expert in place to see to the needs in that district. Those in Nashville screaming and shouting in the State House gallery, the Covenant Moms, and those on the street demonstrating did not get their way. I, for one, do not agree with them and believe Tennesseans have gotten political gains in what has transpired so far. The state has prepared a way, and funded it, to achieve success in enhancing security in schools, but the counties must step up and do it. When this law goes into place teachers will have an avenue to move forward with concealed carry in schools. How many will do it, that remains to be seen. CHANGE, Tennesens got some. You may not like it, but change is here. I for one think it is gain. Will shootings stop, I sure hope so, but, IMO, realistically I don't think so.
  11. Sorry, this one is already pending. Our schedules just haven't allowed us to meet yet.
  12. 55 bucks, it’s in between the pictures. I had to look twice myself, but I’m old Mike
  13. All I can say is WOW, the knife fits my hand so well. Looks great and will be a treasure for a life time! Thanks much GT.
  14. My brother would ride facing backwards on the handle bars. Put his feet under mine and both of us peddle, we could go faster than everybody else.
