Alright, update on this post...thanks for all of the info, advice, and tips on this post. As of right now, I am awaiting my very first AR-15 5.56 16" to arrive at my FFL in just a couple of days! After all my research, the info I received here, and a sale I could NOT pass up for Father's Day, I will be the proud owner of a Watchtower Type 15M. I will be setting up a small shooting range on my property this week and moving it to the back of my property later this year. Might as well make use of the 17 acres we own out here. Planning on providing pics once the rifle gets here, as well as pics of the range evolution. Looking forward to this new adventure, and yes, safety first and member of GOA, NRA, and USCCA to help further my education. Will be hitting a few ranges in the next month or so as well just to stretch my legs a bit. Hope y'all don't mind joining my pride in this journey as well!4 points

SOLD. Thanks for looking. Excellent condition Springfield EMP 4, comes with box, three magazines, and all original accessories. This is a fantastic gun and I'm only selling it because I found a bobtail model and that one carries a little bit more discreetly. The EMP is pretty much the king of carrying-size 9mm 1911s. $625 to a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns. Not really looking for trades, but if you have ideas, I'll consider. No ARs or Glocks needed. I live in Chattanooga and will drive a reasonable distance for deal. More photos available on request. Thanks for looking, Whisper2 points

Selling this new in Box Harrington & Richardson M16A2. Semi auto only. Both the upper and the lower were sold as "Blemished." Withdrawing from sale; I've decided I need to keep this one a little longer. Looking for a new home for this CZ75D Compact, supposedly unfired when it came to me and I haven't fired it, but I'll say condition is like new just to be on the conservative side. Comes with box and cleaning rods; papers were gone when it came to me. I'm told the G10 grips came with the gun, and they're sure nicer than the regular plastic ones I've seen. $600 to a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns. Not really looking for trades, but if you have ideas, I'll consider. No ARs or Glocks needed. I live in Chattanooga and will drive a reasonable distance for deal. More photos available on request. These will work just fine for standard tapered barrels as well. I was afraid it would look like a size 8 foot in a size 13 flip-flop ... but it doesn't.1 point

Papa... I now carry " cocked n locked too " SIGH... The brutal Re-education has worked. I heartily agree about the ambi safety... When ya look at the design, they can give trouble from what ya said, and are a source of mechanical failure. The beaver tail and Rowell hammer thing has forced me to use an " off hand " draw, but it works well enough. leroy1 point

I own a couple of 1911s in 45acp but I don't carry them because of the thumb safety. Since I shoot revolvers and striker fired pistols, I am afraid I would forget to thumb off the safety in a 1911 style weapon. I do have a revolver that uses 45acp that I carry often. I think a man who carries a 1911 in 45acp is well armed. It's just no me.1 point

A private seller does not have to sell to anyone and may ask for a DL and/or a HCP or EHCP, as well as sign a bill of sale, just as a buyer has the right to refuse to show any and all or sign a bill of sale. At any point during the transaction, either may walk away. Thems the rules. Don’t like those rules, then don’t buy, sale or trade here.1 point

Will.... In the old days before the " cocked n locked " dogma became gospel, us lefties carried our Gubt models on the half cock with a spur hamner. Ya cocked on the draw ALA the old Single Action Army. It worked very well, as the 1911 has a rebounding firing pin. Now they send you to the " Re-education Camp " run by brutal Soviet style 1911 apartachiks for doin such things. Remember, the 1911 was a calvary sidearm. They put the safety on when the shootin wuz over.... HEHEHE. re-educated leroy with a beaver tail and a rowell hammer ( SIGH )... Re-educated in 1911 gospel.0 points
