1.   I liked this but don't really like it either. Because reasons.   That aside, here's a neat video:      and another "neat" video. Heh. Neat.      /hijack   I've not been part of the previous Secret Santa goodness, but would be down to participate this year.
2. Am I missing something? I remember this story, and it's still from 2013. Is there an update or a newer news story that correlates?
3. Soak em in mineral spirits works well enough, you can also just soak in hot water.
4. Already read the previous thread, OP says is a Financial Crime.     OP, as long as you're not prohibited, you can buy. As to possession and storage after she is released - lawyer up.
5. What kind of predator control are you expecting to do? Coyotes? .223 Rem will get your job done easily. Do you need the rifle for deer and 'yotes? I'd go with .243 Winchester   Best way to get more proficient with rifles is to spend time behind them, something with light recoil and less noise will get you out shooting more and developing fewer bad habits. Of course, if it's just noise (usually is noise+recoil) that is bothering you, double up earplugs and muffs and see how it affects you. Or shoot something suppressed with good muffs and plugs.   I'd budget for a .22lr or other rimfire caliber. Even an air rifle can be used as a trainer to work on breathing, trigger control, and comfort behind the rifle. Building fundamentals on the cheap is always good.   Good luck!
6. Yep. I'll get it in a couple weeks at work once they come in.
7. You'll have a lot better luck on Sunday. I drive past and watch the parking lot traffic on I24 and Murfreesboro Rd every workday. It's terrible for the poor souls going the wrong direction during rush hour.
8. incredibly jealous. missed one of these locally 2yrs ago, been kicking myself ever since. Congrats!   EDIT: PS: Be careful with your thumb. Think M1 Thumb is bad? This is worse. Smaller contact area hitting the thumb with just as much force.
9. Personal thoughts - the time distorts during the dubstep glitches are really slick, but I don't much like the jerky frames when panning or the glitching between scenes. (edit: yeah, those do work, but they're just not my taste. plus having so many different ways that you use the glitch gets confusing - my head expects one and BAM something new. if that was what you wanted - surprise - then you got it!)   Also, when you fast change scenes as the bass drops, with a direct cut to the same scene, but brightly coloured, that's awesome. However, I'd like to see that contrast with slow fades when scenes change during the calmer sections.   Otherwise, right good job. easy to watch. Would be really cool if you had been able to set the song to a series of scenes to tell a story, rather than just entertaining me with some bright colours, but still, it fits well enough. Plus telling your own story with another artist's song might be stretching things too far.   Thanks for the vid!

Ginseng

Tennessee has a pretty good printed leaflet explaining the rules surrounding ginseng harvests in the state, as well as some history on the plant.   If you're going to deal in ginseng (buying/selling) there are permits.   Check out THIS PDF. Warning, it's a PDF.
11. Got a stack of tools in the corner of your garage? Need em organized?   Got some scrap lumber? If you've got enough light lumber (2x2's, plywood, etc) , you could build a rack to keep long handled tools in it, stored upright.   Take the lid off, and insert the rack. BOOM. Your shovels, rakes, garden hoes, etc are all stored upright, Spaced out evenly (with good rack design, that's your job!) they'll be easy to use and put back. Plus you can roll the whole thing to wherever in the yard if you just want all the tools with you at once.   Not as awesome as having them mounted flat on a wall, but likely better than just all leaning in a corner.
12. That's some serious industrial space gun. Reminds me of the Judge Dredd Lawgiver. or maybe the fallout 3 10mm pistol. Either way, has a fair amount of weird to it. I'd shoot one.
13. I lay out a few layers of newspaper on the coffee table, sit down to a movie or tv series on the internets and just start at it. Can lay down aluminum foil or trash bags underneath if you're worried about leaking through to the table (mine is just an old trunk I've had laying about, no worries for me!)     Are you looking to remove cosmoline? Slow steady low heat works best, and doesn't require harsh chemicals. If you're gonna use chemicals, I've used turpentine, acetone, simple green, and dawn detergent. Turpentine was my best option. Wear gloves, clean it outside. It'll seep forever, but that'll clean off easy if you get it right away.
14. A Bazaar, yeah? Sounds pretty neat. Don't have my schedule down for October yet, but if I can make it I'll swing by.
15. Check this out - 15 min video http://www.fallen.io/ww2/   Short film - they have a suggested ticket price, but you can watch or use for free if you're inclined.   The video/interactive setup provide an excellent visualization of the human costs of WW2 in comparison to previous and current wars around the world.

Bye Bye Bersa

James Bond. Walther PPK.   Or a Sig 232 (still basically James Bond. James Bond!)   Or a Kahr CW380.   Or a Sig P290   Or a Ruger LC380   BTW: I'm not endorsing any of these, just stating that there are a myriad of options.   PS: Have a friend who has a PPK - it's got more than it's fair share of ammo through it and is fun to shoot.   PPS: Plus it's sexy.   PPPS: Also, James Bond.   PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPS: Though I can't comment on reliability. I wasn't around for all those rounds. Didn't have issues when I shot it .   Caused enough trouble here, I'll see myself out. :hat:
17. I had a similar issue with the trigger pin walking. - Turns out due to tolerance stacking the spring wouldn't engage the slot in the top of the pin to prevent it from moving. Replaced the pins with another set I had lying around and issue was solved.   I replaced those with KNS anti rotation, because they came with the POF trigger assembly I dropped in
18.   Ahh yes, the Archer's Paradox.
19. Front sight is adjustable for windage and elevation, right? That's got a hole for the front sight post to go through, with pieces to engage the lugs on the post. The side looks like a flathead screwdriver to adjust windage.   The last bit is just another end to throw on an already silly tool that'll get lost - a round pusher for the ejection selection. Sure, it's "tool free" but hey, why not throw a tool in anyway.   The beretta logo branding on the side really throws it off as a part - few internal components get branding. This, as far as I can tell/guess/wonder, is a tool thrown in.   (BTW - most descriptions say the rifle comes with a sight adjustment tool. Did yours come with a different one elsewhere?)
20. Is it a sight adjustment tool? Looks like it could be for the front sight. Also, bet the round thing fits the hole for the ejection selector.

Gotta have one

HAHAHA! Was it one of these? Or similar? They're a bit silly. My wallet works fine thanks. Bit of googlefu found em at Legally Armed's website. Bunch of older info - reader beware.

Trigger Pull

Ha! Barely know anything about video, but have played around enough and been close to enough people that DO know whats up. That, plus a fair amount of amateur time behind some manual film and digital still cameras.   Keep up the good work. Your shorts are getting better and better. Hope you're enjoying it!   As to gear: GH4 - the Panasonic, right? What did you use to edit: Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or something else? What's your audio rig? Still, just out of curiosity - I can't give too many gear suggestions. Always curious though.   PS: the Instructors at college and their feedback along the way are probably helping the quality, but it's not the only reason. Good kit helps some, but really practice makes the difference. Putting the time in and taking lessons away from each shoot/edit - that's where the mastery is built. Keep it up!

Trigger Pull

Excellent video, great job with the illustration on the side, might have added a border or shading around the image to separate it from the video some. Also good job with the smooth transition to replay in slow mo the problematic trigger control. Good editing too, short sweet and to the point.   I really like the newer intro - title screen, much cleaner easy to read/understand branding as well. Know you've been using it for a while, but its been a good change.   Better sound leveling in this video than I think I've noticed in the past. Also, good job on using adjusting to your available lighting in this vid - all while keeping the subjects lit/clear, but nothing exceedingly washed out. Also good use of bokeh, removing the emphasis on the background. Keep that up, it makes the subject "pop" and keeps me engaged with the information presented and not the trees/shrubs/grass/building/etc in the side/background.   Have you upgraded your video recording equipment?   Just curious, did you provide any instrucitons to the other shooters in the video about proper trigger control/placement? Or did they just have the simple requirement to shoot 2x3rd strings as fast as possible?
