Don't some of the 1500s run the 5.7 as well? It should sounds the same.

I've only heard a couple of shots and haven't seen anything.

I've spent a lot of money at Academy Sports, but....

Here's the thing as far as I'm concerned, they removed both of their testicles when they took ARs of the shelf, they only got one of them back when they put the ARs back out. They will have to do something spectacular to earn the other one back. -

I was at Academy today and they had a wide selection of ARs in many varieties. -
Something that always fascinated me in that area was Scona Lodge, a former 5 star resort visited by some huge names until the 1990's. It features a golf course and a trout pond but all but a small trace of it is now gone. Primarily it was was accessed via ferry just below Calderwood Dam in Blount/Monroe Counties, depending on which side you were on because it was difficult to approach from the land side. Here is a write up http://garysoutdoorwanderings2.blogspot.com/2012/02/story-of-scona-lodge.html?m=1

My observation is a cold snap usually gets deer moving. I've predicted rut activity for the past few years using a lunar calender. Since I've been doing this I've seen a lot of rut activity within a few days after a full moon. I saw zero rut activity this past weekend, but my prediction is that they will be rutting hard and moving well on Saturday.

Got a 10 pointer on Saturday afternoon so it's doe only from here on out for me. I'll have to be super careful with the new buck regs. I'm being a little different Saturday morning, I'm hitting the woods with a 44 mag revolver. I've never taken a deer with a handgun, I'm looking forward to the chance.

Ha, not yet but cut up and in the cooler. That comment about not telling where was tongue in cheek, everyone always wants to know where in hunting. Obviously if I divulge that information it wouldn't be a good spot anymore.

Dropped a healthy doe at 4:15, not bad for public land, and no I won't tell where it is.

I scored a nice six pointer a little before 11. The deer were really moving to give me 4 opportunities. Hung it up, cleaned and reloaded the rifle, and now in back I the stand!

Just call me Elmer Fudd for today. Deer #1 at less than 10 yards, I pull the trigger and get a "click." Somehow my cap had fallen off, no idea how. Deer #2 30 yards, pop, but no bang. Deer #3 50 yards, pop, no bang. Pulled my breech plug, one of the miss fires had caused the load to evacuate the barrel. Cleaned everything out, waiting on deer #4. And this is why I don't support the movement of single shot rifles being included I the muzzle loader season.

I seem to be having a season of follies so far. Saw 7 at different times this morning, one presented a shot and right as I was pulling the trigger she took off running. I'm in the stand now but haven't seen anything yet. I have three solid days to hunt so maybe something will come along.

Thanks a lot Peej. Now I have to find a new job. My boss didn't find my use of that urinal appropriate.

I have no problem with using guerrilla tactics for trespassers. People need to quit apologizing for protecting what is theirs.

I saw one on the greenway in Metro Center in downtown Nashville this summer.

That Arby's is walking distance from my office. Probably won't be trying it though. I've set the bar high on venison steak. Deer isn't easy to cook, top and bottom round steaks aren't even worth eating off of a deer as a steak because they don't have enough fat content. Tenderloins or backstrap are the only parts of a deer that will make a decent steak, top and bottom round will make a fine roast or makes good ground meat. Let the "I want $15 an hour for serving French fries" crowd at Arby's touch it and it won't be worth eating anyway.

There are a few secluded ones in Gatlinberg but I wouldn't know how to find them. Pigeon Forge has cabins packed in like a trailer park. I'd look at Townsend, much less tourist oriented. I used to live down the road from this place in Tallassee, TN, I can vouch for it being very secluded. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/864936

I've lived in 3 houses with wells and had my pipes freeze 1 time. I never ran a heater or lightbulb or anything else. They froze during a snowstorm, I stuck a space heater in the well house and had water within 30 minutes. That pump house was just concrete block with a tin roof too. Just leave your faucets dripping, it's not like you are paying a water bill anyway.

Last time the bulk of the lot looked like what you would expect to be taken off of people who were arrested. I'm not sure why the police department is selling guns new I the box. Didn't realize this one wasn't a police auction. I retract my earlier statement.

I watched the last one, it was comical. There will be no deals when it is over. Just save your time and money and go buy it brand new. You also have to figure that considering the source, these are not cared for firearms.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sorry for your loss.

There is plenty of great country musicians today, Music Row won't sign them because they refuse to wear bedazzled jeans and sing pop. Sturgil Simpson has been black balled by the industry and that guy has more talent in his little toe than Florida Georgia line has between the two of them. The guy sells out every venue he plays. Other examples are Cody Jinks and Chris Stapleton. The labels aren't signing these guys because they don't want to conform. Outlaw country is alive and well, you just have to know where to look, and it sure ain't on "country" radio.

FYI you can buy Comcast service on Amazon now. I do t know if it sucks any less to go that route though.

The 13 year old in me finds this post really funny.
