  1. I just dropped 19 big ones on a new Timex at Wal-Mart. I guess I will have to pass
  2. I have to second the vote on Miami Classic. I wore several different brands until I got my Classic. Wore it daily for many years. That said I have no doubt as to the quality of anything from Black Hills Leather. I have a double rig from Black Hills Leather that I special ordered. I spoke with Rudy several times on the design and It was perfect in every way. You can't go wrong either way.
  3. Congratulations! You are now my Hero. I dream of such.
  4. Thanks for sharing your experience. I lost my Dad too soon nearly 25 years ago. I have many great memories, yet still regret all the memories we didn't get to create. Cherish your memories and your loved ones. Thanks again,
  5. I don't have a lawn, I have a yard, about 3 acres of yard. It's all green.
  6. I have had several .357 wheel guns over the years, but my 4 inch 686 and .357 Marlin Carbine have a forever home here. I am currently looking for a .357 single action just for back yard fun. I should have never sold my brace of Vaqueros.
  7. Just kidding on the RG. Some at this age don't understand the sentiment that goes with a hand me down and fail to care for it as you would like or trade it for something else they think is cool. Your son may not be one of those, but I fear my son might be. I would say a Smith revolver to promote proper grip and shooting skills, as well as being lifetime weapon he could one day pass on. A 686 no key would be awesome.
  8. Doggone it, I knew I would forget a demographic in there somewhere.
  9. I'll refrain from any attempt at a humorous comment due to the risk of offending any race, species, culture, orientation, style, long hair, short hair, no hair, heavy, medium, thin, tall medium, short, conservative, liberal, independent, northerner, southerner, westerner, easterner, immigrant (from anywhere), alien (cosmically speaking), law abiding, law breaking, politically correct, religious, atheist, agnostic, gender, transgender ( hey animals can have orientation issues as well, at least if my Boston Terrier is any indication) etc.
  10. Excellent video, well presented.
  11. Has anyone tried the traditions Rawhide or other model single action center fire or rimfire revolvers? I am thinking of trying them out and just curious if any TGOers have tried them.
  12. Unfortunately I don't shoot as much as I want to now, because I want plenty of ammo on hand for when I have to...hard times.
  13. I never bought anything from Academy...never will.
  14. Yep, Bobcat. I have had one patrolling my back yard for the last week or so that we have seen about three times. Once he was stalking my Boston Terrier until my daughter intervened. We have had wild turkey in the yard on and off for the last two weeks. I think the spring hatch is what has drawn him in so close.
  15. They are very versatile and useful. The only thing I would add is make sure you get it as level as possible. When first set the doors will work fine but if not on level ground, over time they can flex and make the doors very hard to open and close.
  16. Spanky and the gang goes to war :bowrofl:
  17. Congratulations!  and JAB I am totally impressed that you or anybody could spell Sauerbraten, Weiner Schnitzel and Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte, or at least I think you spelled it correctly, I sure wouldn't know.
  18. There's a country song about that already,,,"What was I thinkin' "
  19. For that many roses he could have skipped the flowers, bought two guns, and taken the heat.
  20. :bowrofl:  :bowrofl:  :bowrofl:  :bowrofl:  :biglol:  :biglol:
  21. Yep, back when I had some time.  I shot for a period of time with the Smokey Mountain Shootist Society.  About the time they moved to ORSA in Oak Ridge for their matches was when life got too busy to continue the matches.  I met a lot of great folks and absolutely enjoyed each match.  They welcome folks who just want to come watch to see if you might be interested.  I recommend you go check out a match and meet the folks.  They're good people.
