  1. I just crossed off the Uberti El Patron on my list. I guess next will be a Henry Big Boy .357 or Uberti 1873 Cattleman .22 12 shot, or Browning Buckmark or Uberti 1873 Winchester replica Rifle in .357. I better stop there before my wife comes by and sees what I'm typing.
  2. Uberti El Patron, 5.5 inch .357 Competition. It fits my holsters perfectly but it appears the humidity that makes my pants draw up in the closet also causes my leather cartridge belts to draw up over time as well. I may need more holes.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions and info. I got through by phone this morning and they didn't have what I am looking for in stock. I may be old fashioned but when it comes to firearms I like to hold it and function check it before I lay down the cash. I have ordered some in the past and generally had good luck but it is a real pain when you do encounter a problem. I'll keep watching the classifieds here on TGO in the event any on my list pop up. I'm going to have to practice that reflex test in another thread though, some of you guys are a lot quicker on the clicker than I am.
  4. Thanks OS, I would say you are spot on. I have been in eight stores in the area in the last two days and the gun show. I now remember why I said I wouldn't go to the gun show any more the last time I went.
  5. Thanks for the warning, but I do most of my shooting in the back yard. Brass is a little harder to recover but I don't worry about what's on my left or right.
  6. I tried several times this evening and couldn't get an answer after the automated message and extension selection.
  7. I have never been to Bud's in Sevierville and was thinking about going tomorrow. I checked the TN web site and found no way to check inventory or shop for there were no weapon listings that I could find. The KY store has a large online inventory. Am I missing something? I wanted to try and determine if they had what I am looking for before I made the drive.
  8. Attention all old men, your tool store is opening in Lebanon! You threw me with the headline...I thought you were getting a Viagra Kiosk.
  9. If you don't like the weather in East Tennessee...just wait a minute.
  10. I have a JM Marlin .357 carbine and love it. I have never owned a Henry... therefore I must.
  11. Uberti El Patron .357, when I find one. Henry Big Boy .357, only problem with the Henry is I want a color case hardened receiver and they don't make that. Go figure. It's all about the hunt.
  12. I had one like it in holster with dress linen I bought from an elderly gentleman in 1982 for $350. That was market rate at the time. My brother begged me to sell it to him so I let him have it for $350 and the condition that if he ever let it go I had first dibs to buy it back for $350. Two months later he called and said he had picked up a Colt Trooper (worth about $250 at that time). I asked what he gave for it and he said "I traded the Colt 1911 even up". I don't even miss him.
  13. Agreed, that is why I stipulate that for extreme precision, especially long range, I can see the need/desire. I can also see where those competing in 3 gun for example may wish to upgrade for the speed factor. I don't run three gun, at least not organized matches. I just differ with the "your rifle sucks because you don't have a Super Duper Taterdoodle trigger" crowd.
  14. I seriously doubt that anyone while receiving fire thought, gee my trigger isn't as slick as it could be. I run mil-spec in all my ARs some with PSA polished simply because they were on sale. I may polish them if they feel too rough to suit me. I can see having upgrade triggers for precision competition shooting or long range precision when the chips are down. I don't fault those that want them, I just don't feel the need. I can buy a lot of ammo for the price of one.
  15. Who says you can't fix stupid. Prayers for strength to the shopkeeper.
  16. Well, after about a total of 2.5 hours on the phone with them I am now $15 dollars higher than I was monthly. It seems they won't budge on the little boxes on each TV going from $3 to $5 rent a month. The only reason those ever came into existence was because Congress refused to allow them to charge for the number of televisions in each household so a year later they suddenly have the need for converters, which of course are rented and you need one for each additional TV. Tax increases, " maintaining the sky blue and water wet" fees, etc.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I have been with comcast for years and have had to do the dance several times over billing inconsistencies. Seems like occasionally the "errors" would fall my way, but that doesn't happen. I didn't think about waiting until Monday. That is a good idea for decision makers may not be available during the weekends. Thanks again for tolerating my semi-rant and offering suggestions.
  18. Agreed. I have mine for short outages ( 1 day to 2 weeks range ) and temporary use. I have other measures in place to operate without electricity long term.
  19. At first glance it appears that they have added a charge for an additional HD box that I don't have and never have had, increased the "rental" charge for each little box at each tv by $2, raised the sports package by $10, increased the "bundle" by $50, etc... I guess I will make a pot of coffee, take a few deep breaths to get my "Chi" on and give them a call...this may take a while. I wish I could find a better option than Comcast in Roane County, I would dump them like a hot tater. I would anyway except my family would mutiny.
  20. Just opened my Comcast bill and found it was $130 higher than normal and we have made no changes or add ons.
  21. My condolences for your loss, the loss of a four footed family member is a special kind of hurt.
  22. We had quite a collection of the "Firestone Christmas Albums" put out by Firestone Tires through all their distributors. Played them on a huge console stereo in the living room. Us kids weren't allowed in the living room except on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
