  1. I use Gunbroker a lot. My son has a FFL and charges me the family price + tax for the transfers. It's a win win situation for grandma and I. I get to fill out the 4473 while we're playing with our grandchildren.
  2. We went to Louisville Friday afternoon. Traffic was nuts. The local drive by media said there was 80,000 people at the event to see Mr. Trump. From the traffic we were in I'd believe it. Saturday was OK in the morning. But by lunch you couldn't scratch your butt in that crowd. We only got to about 1/3 of the show Saturday. Sunday was our best day. No real crowd but the vendors all looked like they had been road hard and put away wet. By 3:00 we had only seen maybe all but the last 1/4. Too much to see in two days. Next time we'll do three day.
  3. DAMN! You beat me to it. Thank you
  4. I've got several Win mod 67's that I have collected over the years. They have been safe queens for many years. I've decided to get rid of them. They are a cute single shot 22 that is great for kids to start shooting with, BUT. I discovered that over the years the stocks have a split in them. Is this something that is repairable or does it need to be replaced? I'm guessing that they are only worth, maybe, $200 each so needless to say I don't want to put a lot more money in them. Anybody got any ideas??
  5. I've got this shield that fits reeeal good under this roll of fat I got on my right side. Never going to come out without some major contortions.
  6. Welcome   Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association is very active in USPSA and IDPA https://www.facebook.com/pages/ORSA-uspsa/119338841557558 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Orsa-Idpa/179360632204899   First Saturday of the month for IDPA and third Saturday for USPSA. If that isn't enough, three gun, speed steel, and cowboy action also have their own matches here.
  7. I have been looking for some 231 powder to replace the Solo 1000 that I've been using for years and can no longer get. 231 too has been hard to find. Last weekend I went to the gun show in Knoxville. First place I went is the booth in the back right hand corner that had the big RELOADING SUPPLIES sign over it. David looked like he had a ruff night of it but his prices were the best in the show. After buying there I did see it in other vendors booths but they were still gouging everybody with high prices. Thanks David for holding the line. You will be getting my business whenever I can.
  8. OK, I'd love to get in on the fun. Where do I get the 38 cal cardstock wads?

Whatever you do don't take the grips off. There is a tiny spring under one of them and when you take the grips off it goes flying, never to be found again. Can't tell you where you'd go to get a new one either.   It is a beautiful piece
  10. You mean the existing ATF and state department tax on firearms is OK?
  11. Questions about your holster choice. Because it's thermoplastic, is it less comfortable than, say leather. I doesn't say so in the ad on Amazon. Can it be worn in the left handed position? I prefer that in the IWB/SOB position.
  12. You won't be able to see it all in one day. Better be ready to miss a lot. Went to Nashville. Took me 2 1/2 days to see it all.
  13. Yeaah, what he said! I don't like to buy cast bullets. They are usually a lot softer than mine and the hard lube the pros use is crap. Between the NRA formula lube and the hard lead formula that I use, my guns never lead. They shoot a little smokey, but that's the lube.   I get my lead from tire dealers. Sometimes I've got to beg a little, but I get what I need most of the time. I've got a plumbers pot for melting the dirty lead down, " left over from the olden days when they used soil line and leaded the joints".    Getting started in casting is expensive. But if there is a bullet shortage, it's because you haven't been casting lately.   Hunting with cast bullets is not something I'd do. Expansion is very unpredictable, but for target and plinking you can]t beat cast bullets.
  14. OK, the auction is over, the auctioneer, made a bundle, the gun shop of choice made a bundle, now how big was the bundle that Monrow county made and where is it going?
  15. Never could get the velocity out of Varget. I used blc-2 for a long time. But to be truthful I was just making blasting ammo then. It metered like pistol powder. Plus or minus a couple of tenths. With stick powders like Varget and 4895 I had to hand measure each drop. I've had them off by as much as a full grain out of a powder measure.
  16. Waaaay back in my high school days I remember my geology teacher telling us that there is actually a 33 year cycle. It could be read into the rings of older trees.   Dad used to talk about walking across the Ohio River when he was a kid. Then I got to do it when I was an adult. The untold truth about this is that the river we 13'-15' when he was a kid. When I did it the dam system had been installed. Pool was 33'. I took pictures of my grand children, when they were 3-4, standing in a snow bank that was up to their neck. That much snow is unusual for Southern Ohio.
  17. One of the things I've learned since moving here is that with some people think that getting caught is wrong. Not doing the deed. Then they are out of shape with the people that catch them.
  18. With the total disregard for what few restrictions we have for hunting, and the list of charges that they were brought up on. Do you really think they will give a rats butt about not being able to get a license for Tennessee or any other state. If my family was hungry I'd take a deer to feed them. But that's not what this is about.
  19. Great idea. It looks like a big waste of band width to me.
  20. Me too, but I think I'm going to have to wait until someone wills one to me. Everything that I've seen in the last 5 years looks like it was used for baseball practice.
  21. The 9mm Luger cartridge is a military cartridge. That usually means that it is made for hi pressure. If you're not flattening the primer a little you're asking for function problems. Save the Unique for magnum loads and get something that is a little faster. Personal opinion, unique is awful dirty. Lots of graphite in the stuff for a filler. and it likes to be in an almost full case to burn well.
  22. Typical democrat ploy. Spend, spend, spend, then tax, tax, tax to play catch up.
  23. Our national Anthem is an extremely difficult song to sing. I too was worried that she would "personalize" it like to many singers have done in the past. She did a great job with the song, and she kept her cloths on to boot.
  24. I went one step farther with GP and my dentist. I offered to have a subscription delivered to them so I had something to read when I got there. Both said they had subscriptions to Guns and Ammo and another mag. They usually didn't last more than a couple of days in the waiting room.
  25. Sorry, I wouldn't do it, NRA stickers, or the like. They have a way of saying, " If you're looking to steel a gun Break into me first "
