  1. I don't know if Federal Primers are still in short supply. We stopped at Outdoor Junction in Cookesville on our way to Nashville. They had sr, lr, sp, and lp primers on the shelf
  2. Had a chance to talk to one of the reps from sccy at the NRA show. They are going to build in Maryville as soon as they learn how to pronounce it. What I looked at looked like a good product for what it is intended.
  3. Where would you like to start? The new M&P feels really great in my hand. Looks like I'm going to have to have at least 1, if not 2 [Pro 5" 9mm and regular length 40 for a house gun] Talked to the people at Dillon. Started with my condolences on Mikes passing. The man told me that Mike's boys have been slowly taking over for the last 3 years. They knew this was coming and wanted dad to have more time to himself. Also told them that I felt that their shipping was way too high and that I felt like I was putting one of their kids through school [said a s a joke]. The reply I got was that Shipping was high in Arizona. Got a chance to fondle Wather's P380. My wife's only complaint carrying an auto loader for concealed carry was that she couldn't rack the slide. She want with me through most of the show and this was the only one she could work. Got my hands on a Sig MPX while I was there. I wanted one before I got there. As of 2 months ago they have changed some things. I was fairly OK with the sliding stock on the older one. It did feel short and a bit uncomfortable to shoulder. New ones have a folding stock that feels a lot better. Older model had crap for a trigger. that was the first thing I was going to have to change [$200]. New one has a great trigger in it, out of the box. Only thing is now that the wait if over for the bucks, I've got to wait for the new model to get to the retail market. Got to talk to the folks at Alliant powder. Told them that I was not happy with how dirty their powder was to shoot. They said that it has changed. We'll see, now that I have gaggle of something else. Saw a lot of familiar faces at the USPSA booth. Told them that I would like to see production go to 15 rounds. I was told that it would cause problems in states like California. Humm, other states with handgun restrictions still get to shoot practical pistol. Could go on but you should have gone and have another chance next year. Take your favorite lady and take a 4 day vacation. Takes 3 days to see it all. I start when they open the doors and leave about 1-2.
  4. Where are you talking about. Always looking for another flea market to go to.
  5. Been going to flea markets most of our lives. As a buyer, you never know what you'll find. As a seller, We never had yard sales. Might get 20-25 people to stop at the house. When we set up at the flea market 20-25 hundred people to stop. What you have sound like a very specialized item. If I were you I'd have some business cards printed up and hand them out to anyone that is looking at your stuff. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I could tell you stories about what we bought and sold at flea markets.
  6. Why not start reloading? If you can follow directions and have a degree of common sense. Original expense is a bit high but after that adding calibers and components are only add on costs. $350 to $400 max will get you started.
  7. My wife and I have gone for the last 3 years. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Not much there to buy,but you get to check out all the gun related stuff from every manufacturer. Even if it's not on the shelves yet. One day isn't nearly enough. We plan on being there 3 days. Go early, leave early, enjoy a running away from home weekend. The grass will still be there when you get back.

If you reload, stay away from cast bullets. They clog up the gas port. I shot cast and paid the bill. Took me for ever to find the wrench to remove the gas check to clean it. I found 110gr bullets from Bartlett. H110 was the powder I used. Worked great. Clean, uniform, consistent readings over the chronograph.
  9. We were in Nashville but couldn't even get off the interstate. Ended up going to the hotel instead. waited until Saturday for the show.
  10. I do have a M&P shield that I carry outside the truck. What I want to conceal in the truck is a full sized/hi cap 40. Have you ever tried to draw from your hip while sitting in your truck? With the console on one side and the door on the other it takes quite a bit longer than a standing hip draw on the street.
  11. Damn! that makes since. I'm thinking Velcro to hold it. But will it stay there in the Summer heat?
  12. I've got a pick up truck with a console on the front seat. I've tried using the console to conceal my handgun and it never fails, whenever I open the console the gun is always under all the junk I've got in there. Needless to say if I ever needed it in a hurry I'd be fishing around in there for way too much time. Anybody got a better place to conceal a handgun in the truck? I tried just keeping it on my hip but that even makes it harder to get to under that roll of fat I hid my belt with.
  13. Stoner Holsters hakes a holster that fits in the back pocket and prints like a wallet. I can carry my M&P shield all summer long. Best concealed carry I've found for year round carry. A lot better than that hunt and seek I had to do with IWB holsters around my flat tire.
  14. I have had guns that I bought and sold just because they were too cheap not to buy and a little ruff not to sell. But I had a m1 rifle and a m1 carbine that I had that were really nice that I sold just because we needed a new washer and drier. I miss them to this day and have never seen any that were in that condition.
  15. The [gentlemen?] in the film clip get my vote for the Darwin award for the month of February. Police go through months of training to be paranoid. If you're going to pull on Superman's cape a good stiff kick in the butt is the least of your worries.
  16. Some day, right after I win the lottery, I'll spend the $8500 it takes to buy a Barret 50 BMG rifle. I really don't enjoy pain but I'd like to have something that takes a full minute to put the cartridge in the chamber.
  17. Oh Hell, just call Dillon. You're not going to save any money buying local and you're going to be asked all the right questions. Also you will be assigned a customer number so you will be able to get any parts from their lifetime guarantee without 20 questions. I've had my 650 for 15 years and the only thing that has ever gone wrong was some small plastic part. But whatever you need they have in your mailbox in 3-4 days postage paid.
  18. The fire fighters have done a great job. I don't know what we'd have done without them. Now it's time to look to the future. With a bit of the Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge burnt to the grown, a lot of the visitors that would have come to Eastern Tennessee are going to go elsewhere to spend their vacation dollars. How are those that depend on the industry going to survive?
  19. I use them exclusively. Had a chance to talk to these folks at the NRA show. Good people with a good product that they take pride in.
  20. If you don't come for any other reason, you have GOT to come and see the new pits. It's unbelievable what the guys have done with the the unused space next door.
  21. You gotta shoot it before you buy it. The extended portion of the frame in the back if very uncomfortable to shoot. Not only is it too long but it's too squared off. It digs into the top of your hand on recoil. Sorta like the standard 1911 grip safety verses a high hand. I emailed ruger about the way I feel. The return email was just standard "thank you very much bla, bla, bla, bla"
  22. How about some pictures? I haven't been to the Grand American since they left Vandalia.
  23. It doesn't seem that way. Just some people that have more weight putting their foot down.
  24. I agree completely. I remember when Colt took the ar 15s off there list to sell to civilians. It was a butt kiss to Clinton so Uncle Sam would buy m-16s from them. Well, it didn't work and I've got a long memory. Sold the Colt that I had in the safe and won't have another one because of it. I'm going to add Academy to my list too. If they want to decide what kind of guns I can buy then I can decide where I'm not going to buy them.
