News Flash: Americans are tired of the gridlock that you support and is why the right is losing elections. Pick and choose your battles, IMHO. -

Disregarding the whole need for the Fed debate, this is a problem, why? -
I'd have laughed hard if that big buck got aggressive and gave her an antler to think about. And I'm not a hunter either.

I don't get the relevance of your post to mine. I doubt any of those law-makers campaigned on the platform of passing this law. -

I didn't say that it was a good thing; I said that I'd be ok with it. I have empathy for those that would lose their jobs, but a business has to evolve or die. Publicly traded isn't really a great thing because it locks the company into a business model that doesn't necessarily evolve. The company that I work for just went from public to private, and I think that's a good thing. I have been here for 9 years watching them do inane things, so I hope things change for the better so that they evolve. -
Drugs and guns are bad, um-kay?

My wife loves Red Lobster, but the only thing that I like there is the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. I'd be ok with them closing. -

If the law isn't challenged then they win, and the precedence will be used against the rest of us. -
This reminds me of a developmentally challenged young lad from my youth who put a Western Auto rotating light on his bicycle and thought he could pull people over.

Typical CLEO's seem to keep the party line of the mayors, and they also seem to think that they are the only ones qualified to carry a gun, so his comments didn't surprise me at all. -
I stopped watching it when the oldest daughter championed Obama and the liberal dream making Tim Allen look like an idiot. Quite different from what you saw.

House votes to extend plastic gun ban

When I entertained the idea of becoming a polymer engineer in 1989, I attended a class that consisted of guest engineers of various fields that came in to speak to the class about their fields. One of them worked for a company in Kansas City that was famous for manufacturing components for nuclear weapons. He told us that they had a polymer that was so hard that they had no tool that could cut it. If they have that then it is possible they could develop something that could take the pressures of a pistol round. -
In boot camp and regular inspections, yes, but in my unit if it was for an IG inspection, (and with the CO's un-official blessings of course), we went far beyond that. We took off the compensator to clean the space between it and the barrel because that was one of the hardest places to clean as well as the most frequently gig'd spot on the inspections. In 29 Palms we also took advantage of the super hot water in the barrack's along with the low humidity of the environment and ran the uppers through hot water because carbon hates water, (we used water to clean the howitzers too). The temperature of the water was such that it heated the metal enough that when you shook-off the water you could watch the moisture quickly evaporate away. We would then put a light coat of CLP on the outer surface of the barrel that was wiped off right before the inspection. Trigger assemblies were also removed and thoroughly cleaned as well. Admittedly, this could have gotten use in a lot of hot water ourselves, but it worked to get a completely clean rifle and no gigs on the IG inspection for our rifles. :)

True: however, when I was a LEO a lawyer who made his living out of representing LEO's in civil suits said that you should always pursue a judgment against someone regardless of their financial situation. You never know when they'll hit the lottery, inherit a fortune, or life in general will be financially kind to them.

Virtual gun range in Brentwood
E4 No More replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Training Discussions
Things have sure come a long way from when I was a LEO. I went through red-handled gun training in 1988 where we shot, and got shot, by revolvers loaded with magnum-primed cases that were stuffed with cotton. As innocuous as that sounds it leaves a heck of a welt when you're within a few feet of the barrel. This program's goal was to teach the officer to progress through the stages of fight-or-flight syndrome, and go directly to reacting to a gun being presented. You were going to get shot up close about every time.
