  1. Personally, I took his afraid of the NRA remark as just a friendly jab that wasn't delivered very well.
  2. It seems that L.L. Bean is following Dick's lead to an extent. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/ll-bean-raises-minimum-age-for-gun-purchases-to-21/ar-BBJMrVg?li=BBnb7Kz And Walmart.
  3. Context is everything. He prefaced the statement with "easily adjudicated" prior to that. He was saying that this kid was clearly a threat, and the police should have seized his weapons and let the court sort it out. Who here would argue - with the clarity of hindsight - that had this happened 17 people would still be alive? Who here have thought about how the HIPPA Laws are causing problems here?
  4. From what I have read he most certainly did make verifiable threats as well as throw his adoptive mother into a wall. Unfortunately, many people see "Domestic Violence" as husband beating wife.
  5. "Put what you want" does not equal "get what you want" particularly when he said that she wouldn't get everything she wants. He appeared to me to notice her gleefulness and checked her on it buy saying that she won't get everything she wants. I'm just saying that people shouldn't get worked up over a discussion. We should see the final bill and then judge.
  6. I did not hear ANY mention of an AWB in that conversation. In fact, the subject was background checks, and he clearly stated that they wouldn't get everything that they asked for.
  7. While I agree that the 2A has no limitations, the Supreme Court has already ruled that one individual's right does not trump another's right - particularly concerning safety of others. For example, you can't yell "FIRE!!!" in a crowded theater just because you have the right to free speech which also has no limitations in the 1A. I predict the same thing is going to happen here.
  8. I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch over this...yet. To me it's nothing but posturing right now. Emotions are high which facilitates political theater on both sides. Once the details are worked out then I'll judge. I find it comical to see folks who fussed about national reciprocity being a bad idea are aggravated that Trump wants it as a separate bill. Raising the age to 21 to purchase a rifle? Why is that age ok with a pistol but not a rifle? If your child is responsible can't the parent still buy them a rifle as I'm sure many have done with pistols? Seizing weapons on a simple complaint is another issue. If there is a clear-cut process to return their property rather than LEO's being able to keep/sell it then I'm open to it: however, there should be legal repercussions should the complaint be found to be a lie. Your neighbor getting pissed at you and telling the police that you threatened him when you didn't should be liable for your legal fees, for example.
  9. It's an eww, icky-ick bug!
  10. If I were to purchase one I'd dump the grips. I loved the bobbed mainspring housing in my Kobra Carry - mostly because the regular mainspring housing seemed to transfer recoil into the lower heel of my hand instead of spreading it out. But once I got rid of my Ed Brown I was done with expensive pistols that I don't carry much. It's much easier to carry my Sig P320 Carry in .357 Sig.
  11. I've owned two M&Ps in both full sized and compact, and both were POS, so I hope that they wouldn't base a decision on just the manufacturer being an American company.
  12. I'd say not judging from the coverage I've seen thus far.
  13. I'm not an engineer and only had supercharged GT500, but what I've read about the thermodynamics of the engine, (several years ago), is that the greatest heat from combustion is at the top of the chamber coming from the area where the spark originates - which makes sense to me because of advanced timing. I don't see how it would be possible to burn the rings. Have you thought of contacting the manufacturer of the pistons of choice? I'd think they'd know more about it than the average gear-head.
  14. I'd wager that MikeW would be the person to ask. He was heavily involved in the SVTOA website. I've known people that run 75 shot in hypertechtic piston engines. Personally, I'd do forged pistons and rods.
  15. Getting paid to bang her? Charge him with prostitution!!!
  16. Nope, he likes gold.
  17. I've always thought that his vests looked gay!
  18. You can make your door and frame out of vault steel, but they'll just go to the window if they want in.
  19. Semper Fi!
  20. Worst I've personally experienced was in the Kansas City, MO area in December of 1989 while on the police department. We showed -30 degrees although the "official" temperature at the airport about 15 miles away was -23. Wind gusts were 40 MPH so wind chill was "I can't F'n believe it!" I arrested two homicide suspects that night, so it was memorable in two ways.
  21. I'd be too skeered to touch it let alone shoot it!
  22. You mean amoral things like stealing, rape, and murder?
  23. Apparently, he's never heard of the blood-brain barrier either.
