I washed my hands of both parties long ago. Both have gone completely off the rails and headed into crazy town. Both have become insane extremists who won't even discuss other options. I am a conservative and nothing more. I usually end up voting Republican simply because its the lesser of two evils. But its still evil. I hate what politics in this country has become.

'Star Trek' actress Nichelle Nichols dead at 89
Grayfox54 replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
The lady opened many doors for black women in TV and inspired more than one real female astronaut. A fine actress and a great lady. She leaves a true legacy in her wake. -
Not saying I subscribe to it, but there was a conspiracy theory before the 2020 election that Joe would only serve a little over two years and for whatever reason Harris would become President. That way Harris would serve out his term and still be eligible to serve two more full terms. She may not be making much noise as VP, but Harris is a full blown libitard and would be an absolute nightmare as President. BTW: speculation already is that Joe won't run for re-election in 2024 due to age and health.

Does a folder like this exist?

I carried a Buck 286 the last few years I worked. 3" locking blade and nylon handle. Very light and very tough. This was my work knife and it led a hard life. Now retired, but still in fine shape. https://www.buckknives.com/product/286-bantam-bhw-knife/0286FAM01/ -
Assault weapons ban passed in House of Representatives

It'll die in the Senate. I keep telling y'all this is all for show. They know it'll never pass. This is just so that they can cry, whine, wring their hands and claim "We tried!" -
Crawford played the part of Chief Dan Matthews. He was the boss, so he wore plain clothes. So did some of the detectives and Sergeants. The regular Patrol officers in the show wore State Trooper uniforms.

The DA race in Shelby County is the hot item in this year's election. Mulroy is a hard core leftist. Wants to defund police, end bail, light sentences, etc. In the past he sued the Sheriff's dept to try to force the release of prisoners. The full liberal wish list. If nothing else, here's THE reason to get out and vote. Yes, I voted for Weirich.

I dealt with Armadillos years ago in Texas. They do dig, but move slow. Never heard one make any other sound than the digging noises. My guess is a pig. Maybe just a small one that could hide well in the brush.

I went and early voted today. This has become a habit for me as I find it physically uncomfortable to deal with crowds and long lines. The up coming Aug 4th election is both a primary and in many counties a general election. I feel its more important to vote in the primaries than it is to vote in the General Election come fall. Let's face it, in the general election most of us will simply vote for the candidate with a "R" or "D" by their name. By voting in the primary election you have a much better chance of getting a qualified candidate for the general election. I truly believe that the current crop of idiots and clowns in Congress these days is the result of people not voting in primaries. The wrong people end up winning and we suffer for it.

I actually had a co-worker who was about to retire do this to a lot of stuff he worked on in those final days. He thought it was funny. Needless to say, most of us were happy he retired. He never really got along with the rest of us anyway.

If your job is such that you feel the need to carry, it might be time to reconsider your career choices.
-
I, for one, am hoping Biden gets through this without any problems. Heaven help us if Harris ends up with the job.

99% of the time I carry OWB at about 3:30. Doesn't matter what gun, what size or what holster. I dress according to where I'm going and what I'm doing. I prefer leather holsters. On very rare occasions I might pocket carry something small.

Just saw a story on the evening news about the down side of EVs. One item that caught my attention was they said that the EV owners on average use more electricity charging their car over a week than their entire house uses in the same time. Yep, and we need to cut back out A/C because the power grid is overloaded.

Also bear in mind that in those 15 seconds the BG got off 22 shots killing 3 and wounding 2. Imagine the carnage he could have caused if they had had to wait for police to arrive.

That's exactly what I had to do. Mentioned it in my earlier post. But here's what baffles me. My original old white on black photocopy birth certificate had my full name, my parents full names, the hospital where I was born, time of birth and the doctor's name on it. Its now invalid for some reason. My new updated "certified" birth certificate has my full name and date of birth only. But its completely legal ID. WTF???

I love a good project and always keep an eye out for broken, old or unwanted guns. Post 'em for sale, Just be honest in your description, plainly state that the gun is non-functional, describe the problem with it as best you can and use good pictures. You'd be surprised at how many people want them. I'd be interested if you were closer. Tell us what ya got?

I saw one story that focused on how rare it is for a shooter to be stopped by a bystander. "It isn't common for mass shootings to be stopped in such fashion. From 2000 to 2021, fewer than 3% of 433 active attacks in the U.S. ended with a civilian firing back," Do ya think it just might be because most of these shootings have happened in "Gun Free Zones"? The antis are reaching hard to try to discredit Mr. Dicken's actions, but it ain't flyin'. The Chief and Mayor of Greenwood just keep praising this young man at every news conference and on camera. Even anti-gun MSM can't just ignore that. I LOVE IT!

This stuff has been in the works for years. I held a Commercial Driver's License for 40 years due to my job. CDLs always have to be renewed in person and you must bring proper ID. Well my proper ID has always been my original birth certificate that was given to my parents when I was born. Its one of those old white on black early photocopies. Never had a problem with it until about 10 years ago. Went to renew my CDL and all of a sudden my birth certificate was no good. I had to go back home, get my DD-214 and go wait in line another 3 hours to renew my license. Later I had to make a trip to the county Health Dept to get a certified copy of my birth certificate. This new one has barely anything on it but my name and date of birth, but it is certified. I still don't have a Real ID. I haven't flown anywhere since 2002 and have no plans to in the future. I guess when my regular license expires in 2027, I'll fool with it then.

Its looking like the Police Chief isn't gonna let this hero go un-noticed. "At a press conference on Monday afternoon, Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said Elisjsha Dicken, 22, of Seymour, Ind., was shopping with his girlfriend at the Greenwood Park Mall when shots rang out in the food court on Sunday just before 6 p.m. local time. “His actions were nothing short of heroic,” Ison said. “Many more people would have died last night had an armed citizen not taken action within two minutes of the shooting.”

My understanding of No Gun signs is that if found, they can only ask you to leave. If you don't, then you can be charged with trespassing.
-
In his statement the Police Chief said that the citizen was "legally" carrying and called him a hero. So I doubt he'll be charged with anything. They haven't identified the citizen by name, but did say he is a 22 year old male.

Take it down to the local phone store and let them look at it. Maybe they can fix it. I don't need anything fancy. All I do with mine is call or text. I bought my last phone at best Buy. $250 and it does everything I need just fine.
