Who is this Bredesen you speak of? Blackburn all the way.

My cucumbers have been great, got probably over a dozen from about 4 plants so far. My peppers are doing good, got a few so far, tomatos are doing good, but none red except a few cherries. I have one watermelon, about 8"-10", but looks a bit weird, sort of like a half crescent but may straighten out.

Nah, the new expiration month is 6 months from my birth month, which is my license expiration month. It just looks like they used the date of processing for the effective date, and 8 years later on the same day/month for expiration. It may be because I did it online, and the system just kicked out the dates automatically.

I recall the post/thread, and as I see it, it was a misunderstanding which has apparently been rectified.

Well, $50 gets me 8 years and the lifetime is what $200? Unless it's a dramatic price change, I'd need 32 years to break even, that would put me at 85, it can happen, but by then I'd hope permitless carry will be an option so I roll the dice.

PSA So I got my HCP renewal notice a week or two ago, it doesn't expire for another 3 months but figuring I'd get a jump on it, and not forget later, I renewed online. Process was easy and all, and it arrived fast, but when I checked my new expiration date, they cheated my out of three months. It's an 8yr permit, so in the long run it doesn't cut that much off, but heck, it still makes me feel cheated. So if you get your notice, I wouldn't renew until 30 days out if you don't want to lose any time on your old one.

A big win for Defense Distributed!
Omega replied to gregintenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Great, I had heard that 3d files were made unavailable due to this. Not into 3d lowers myself, well not until they make a fiber element that can withstand a bit more use, and made affordable. -
I get my breakfast items for work every week or so, I'm in and out in 10 minutes or so with the self check-outs. There just isn't any store that can compete in locations and price. The trick is not to shop at odd hours, know what you're after, get in and get out. Ammo: I mostly order components from the net, including some from here.

I was thinking ND, self or by another. Nothing in the story suggests, well, anything, so it's wide open at this point. Not sure about suicide, just seems like an unlikely place for it, but I could be wrong. Don't most ranges have video? If so, I'm sure that's why the "No foul play" headline, even though an ND is wrongly labeled a "Tragic accident", it is correct, IMO, saying no foul play involved.

Well, there goes one S.

I think outside perspective, and if you come in with a chip on your shoulder, reality can be a bit skewed. I can walk into most ANY range, gun store, or just about anyplace and not be "monitored". But I also don't take immediate offense when someone walks up to me and asks if they can help me look for something. I've witnessed incidents of people being approached and making a scene or just get that defensive attitude, and also have seen some come in and just look suspicious as all get out so even I keep an eye on them. Let's face it, we all profile, it's just the nature of the beast. When I grew up in Denver, I got extra looks sometimes, no scratch that, MOST times, but I fit the profile of the ones responsible for all the crimes committed there so it came with the territory. Attitude can make it a good experience or a bad one, you come into a place like you belong there and don't act like you're up to something and for the most part you will be accepted.

Closed most of my accounts, transferred my last funds to bring it to 0, but they gave me my 4¢ interest. Now I have to physically go in to close it.

App for finding folders with a given number of files?
Omega replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
What's the goal? Most sub-folders you describe are created by programs to store temporary data, and they usually have an algorithm to clean them up themselves or a command for doing it manually. I figured you're talking about a Windows based program since you mentioned DOS, here is a good article which is a review of one decent version, but mentions many others. https://lifehacker.com/5824811/the-best-alternative-file-browser-for-window -
After listening to this podcast I'm going to have to lean towards the NRA bashing side. I tried, really tried, to keep an open mind, but I found it a little insulted on the way they described, at least their perception of NRA members. It's a bit disingenuous about mentioning the fringe NRA members without at least touching upon the other sides vastly larger fringe groups. Yes, I'm an NRA member, have been for decades, but I've been pro 2A much longer. I don't usually wear 2A clothing, fly any flags, or really any of the described offensive, to them, things, but I don't see them the same way they do. I also disagree about how the pro 2A side should act, we, yes we, have been much too passive in the past, that is why we have been tread upon so often. We keep giving away slices of pie each time anti-gunners come up with "sensible" laws to keep us law abiding gun owners in check. Let's face it, they will never stop until they get their way, and that is complete disarmament, so we must be as vocal if not more so than they are. I'm never embarrassed about being pro-2A, military, hispanic, heterosexual, male, or any other hot button thing brought to the forefront by the MSM, social media, or fringe group. I'm more than ready to defend myself against the bashing that ensues when something pops up of which l could be included in the offending group.

Big business will leverage this to their favor, like everything else. Just like when Walmart closes down a bunch of mom and pop stores when it moves into smaller towns, large online retailers will use their buying power to lower the price of their goods even with the tax. Walmart has started to take a bite out of Amazon's pie with their online sales, specially with allowing 3rd party vendors access to it. I think this model will be the thing of the future with smaller online vendors. Walmart and Amazon take the orders, collect the tax (maybe distribute it??) and the vendor ships it. IMO, what hurts local shops, is inventory and our insatiable need for immediacy. I've gone into local shops looking for a certain model of rifle or gun (or other item) but could not find it. Only once have I had them order it for me, no make that twice. Other times I keep looking because many times I am undecided and want to see and hold it before I commit. Best-buy, I read once, had become a display store for other online vendors. People would go in. look at the products, decide which one they liked and ordered it online.
-
I seen this coming, specially when many large vendors started collecting taxes. I'm ok with it, many times shipping, transfer fees, and hazmat pushed me to buy local anyway. When Amazon started collecting taxes, I noticed their prices stopped being as competitive, but I still use them due to the convenience and hard to find items.

Get off my la...I mean dirt.

Zelle is new(ish) kind of like Paypal but not (yet) anti-gun. I recall there was an escrow service out there that use to cater to purchases like gun sales, can't recall the name though. Edit: it lists some here: https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/articles/221688408-Using-an-Online-Escrow-Service

Well, I'm Hispanic and have not felt excluded in any way. Heck for a long time I thought one guy here was black until he mentioned his avatar was not a reflection on his ethnicity (I'll let him chime in), and I bet many here thought so as well. I don't feel that TGO excludes anyone, but face it, this is a majorly white male oriented hobby, not because it excludes anyone per se, but that is who gravitates to it. This is not something that is a problem as I see it, what are we going to be "busing" in minorities and females in from other forums? Until minorities and females WANT to be gun owners, AND join these groups the status quo will be maintained. I personally don't care what gender or ethnicity a gun owner is, I just care what actions they take with their guns. As a gun owner, I talk to anyone who seems interested in them, I'll even invite them to go shooting with me. I have spent many a round with friends and family and their friends at a few ranges. I've encountered some that have started an anti-gun rant with me unaware that I was carrying the whole time until I mentioned it. I've even had a few lean my way at the end.

Caveat emptor on the money part, I would use a medium which could be traced directly to a person or bank account, such as Paypal, Zelle, etc, and make sure it contains a note to what the transaction is for. It would fall to small claims court, unless wire or postal fraud would apply, so make sure you keep all emails, text messages etc. As to the FFL, if the firearm is in another state, that is mandatory. The only issue there would be is if he wants to send it directly to an FFL, some FFLs do not accept transfers from individuals.

Ruger .22, a Standard or Mark I, can't recall, bought it at a Flea market in Denver when I was about 16 or 17.

Fancy or not, it will do the trick. That was/is my first AR, I like it just fine.

Yea, I'm good either way as I usually take doe since I don't see too many bucks at my place. I never used a taxidermist, but I've mounted a few antlers, and I did a European mount a few years ago. A buck in velvet may make an interesting European mount.

Yea, didn't get much advertising, and I get TWRA and TWF emails. Thanks for the heads up, I wonder if this an extra buck or is it part of the years quota?
