Drat! Just saw a Sig P-365XL Spectre online and OMG I love it. Not really crazy about the grip so much but the slide is beautiful. I have a Sig We The People 1911 that has a distressed stainless finish, and the Spectre has that on the slide. Its from the Sig Custom Works Shop. I couldnt find out if its actually on the streets yet or not, or how much, but depending on the price, I may sell one of my XLs and get one. Or maybe just the slide if they sell it separately... Welcome! -
I've got an Eotech sight and an Eotech 3X magnifier on my AR. I think that was probably overkilll, though.

Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books
Defender replied to plank white's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Anecdotally, I've always been a science fiction fan, but the one book that got me into this sub-genre was Andre Norton's Daybreak 2250 A.D. I probably already liked her SF books, and read many of them over the years, but this was my first post-apocalyptical novel. It wasn't great, but it really sparked my interest. Incidentally, she lived her last years in Murfreesboro,TN. -
Having the Holosun 507k-x2 on my P-365XL and loving it, I read about the new green one coming out, and Im not talking fuel efficient here, lol. The HE407K-GR X2 has a suggested retail of $ 276.46. I also hear it'll be out sometime this summer. I think I am going to pick up one for my other XL.

17 states and D.C. declared emergency status

Agree, just not sure how to fund it. Hey, what about stopping handouts to people here and stopping a large part of foreign aid and fund it that way? -
I've always been a proponent of carrying plenty of ammo. As was stated several times above, better to have it and not need it than need it an not have it. I carry with 15+1 in my EDC and an extra 15 round mag on my person. Also keep several loaded extra mags in my bag along with a box of ammo and a maglula in there as well. Not to mention a NY reload. Doubt very seriously I'll need any of it, but you never know. I worry as much about a zombie apocalypse as i do about everyday threats, lol. Seriously, there is a very real threat of a EMP type situation occurring, whether it be a solar flare or a nuke. If I am miles away form home when it happens, it'll be a long walk home, possibly through dangerous territory. I figure extra ammo may come in handy.

Restaurant that serves alcohol current carry laws?
Defender replied to andersmg's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Im a former drinker. Quit 10 or so years ago after I realized I liked it a tad too much, lol. But I think it should be the same as for driving. I see nothing wrong with having a drink with dinner or something, as long as you are ok to drive. Same should apply here. -

Not new to slings, but also interested in improving what I have...

A close friend of mine was a USN Corpsman and other than one tour at Paris Island, spent the rest of his 20 on a variety of both attack and missile subs.

Got a few friends who were submariners. Some great stories. I have respect for those they can do that. I couldn’t. Prayers.

Anyone see these yet? I've always been interested in this cartridge, but FN's prices were always just too high for me. Ruger's entry was interesting, and this one is too. Still doubt I'll get one, but i do like it.

I wish this red state could manage to pass one comprehensive gun bill that would fix all issues at once. The way our HCP is only a defense against charges of going armed is ridiculous. Also it being a crime to carry past a gunbuster sign is also ridiculous. Also why cant this bill prohibit completely lawsuits that were deemed legal by the legal system? Why cant a red legislature with a red governor do this right?

I used to go on Volksmarches in Germany regularly. Most were from 5-20 kilometers, usually on easy terrain, but went on a 40 kilometer Polizei Volksmarch once. Wasn't prepared for this one at my advanced age, lol. (I was 38) Participants were all police officers, mostly German civilian, but also American and German military well. This one was on roads, in towns and in country, wooded trails and in places required the use of hands to help pull you up steep inclines. By far, this one was the toughest volksmarch I had been on. I was the oldest on our team, and no matter how much I wanted to drop out, there was no way I was going to not finish! Didn't set any records but I finished. Couldn't do it today. One interesting part of it was that when we wandered through a small German town, there were german women out on the streets offering free grapes, cheese and glasses of wine for us as we walked through. They support their police, lol.

Im a plus sized guy, mainly a big gut. I carry my Sig P-365XL either at 3 or 4 o'clock position in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB on either a SOE or Elite Survival Systems Cobra belt. My setup is comfortable Like others have said, it took a long time to figure out what works best for me. I carry a spare 15 round mag in a Sticky Holster mag pouch at 9 o'clock also on my belt.. I also have a really good leather carry belt for dressier occasions. Best advice is to carry always. I figure the one time ya need a gun is the time you don't have it. When I was overseas, we weren't allowed to carry off-duty, and there was a very real terrorist risk, so I carried a fixed blade in addition to a folder at all times. Nowadays, i carry a very small Kershaw Launch 4 auto and a Benchmade Adamas auto, both pocket carry in opposite front pockets, for everyday use.

When i carried my FNH FNP-45USG as my EDC, I carried OWB in a good leather holster, but eventually the weight of that gun with 16 rounds of .45 acp goodness in it along with extra mags of 15 rounds each of .45 acp goodness became just too much for my weak old self to carry, lol. I now carry my Sig P-365XL(with optic) in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster. I alternate between an SOE Cobra belt and an Elite Survival Systems carry belt with cobra buckle. Both these belts are very rigid nylon webbing and fully support eh weight of the gun and spare mag i carry. I tried a We The People holster and while it was comfortable enough, it fell off my belt with gun in it a couple times around the house so i stopped using it., I also liked a Galco Mini tuck but couldn't use it after i added my optic. I agree with others above that a good holster coupled with a great gunbelt is the only way.

3 Plus 2 Mag Base Pads for the Shield 9mm 8 rd mag
Defender replied to Defender's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Just looked at their web page and they dont say, as far as i can tell. -
I have 2 silver and 1 black of these for sale. I no longer carry a shield so its time to part with these. They replace the original base pads and follower to increase the magazine capacity of the 8 round mag by 2 making it a 10 round mag. They sell for 29.99 each new and these are used so I'm offering for 50 for all 3. Picture colors are misleading, one is black and 2 are matte silver. General Nashville or mid TN area, please.
