Men Arrested for Stealing Machine Guns And Silencers From SHOT
Ronald_55 replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
I am guessing it was left out to avoid embarrassing the vendors or SHOT about their lack of secure processes. -
Not mine thankfully, but some people had real bad days.

The plumber I use does great workl, but that is a lotta road time to pay for if he drove down.
-
Lol. I usually pump the last bit off mine at the gas station. Not that 6 cents would be worth it.
-
Gas that was $2.05 yesterday is $2.25 today in Kingsport. Did I miss some big issue or is it just the normal price gouging?

There are times now that I have my HCP that I cringe when I hear of certain people i know getting theirs. A certain extended family member boasted of getting one this weekend. I know her well enough to know that her with a gun is a recipe for an accident. She has far less than an hour gun time (probably including the class). Plus, having just took the class, she still had a bunch of the rules wrong. Only got it because her new spouse has one and bought her a gun. Never fired one before the class. My in-laws are a bit better, but they got both theirs in the state they live in. Hey are not new to guns, but neither have fired the gun they carry daily. Plus, they took it on a multi-state trip without checking any laws. There is a fine line here between someone just having it, and knowing what to do with it.

Just like my Hunters Safety instructor way back when admitted to two accidential discharges in his own house. One took out his wedding china and one took out his TV. Made me feel real safe.

Not just that, but that is a lot of suppressors. I like that the ATF even calls them silencers. Says a lot about them too. -
Welcome aboard

Not a happy outcome but who knows how much worse it could have been. outcomehttps://www.wjhl.com/amp/news/2-people-shot-at-colonial-heights-dentist-office_20190213172748/1778787789 × WJHL News Channe Suspect kills wife at dentist office in Colonial Heights; Bystander shoots suspect By: News Channel 11 Staff Updated: Feb 13, 2019 01:46 PM EST SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) - Sheriff Jeff Cassidy told News Channel 11 a woman is dead after a shooting at a dentist office in Colonial Heights and the suspect is in the hospital. Brownells just advertised a Hi-Power clone and it is not of our TGO member @hipower Maybe I missed it, but I don't remember seeing anyone mentioning it. http://lp.brownells.com/index.php/email/emailWebview?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTXpRMlpUVmlOamd6TnpJNCIsInQiOiI0M2x3SVlBVCtydDRUUzVjRlhLQk5nb1JWNzZkclkyNlJzZWJIMDNkQUVMcXMxMUlRamxuXC9cL0xGQ0tRWFBUYk1icUhrSFwvWVZqdWd2V1IyY0YrY0pKS1pGc2NRWHRTK1pialJyTkdFK2dqcWszbGFDSkxrU2lMZTVhSXhHQU5cL2kifQ%3D%3D

My Dad still swears by a lead sinker, nylon string, a piece of a t-shirt, and WD-40. Has used it at least my whole life. I have tried and like Frog Lube. Seems to do a good job. I can't say I have tackled a really hard job with it, but most of my guns never get that bad. Plus, I have an aversion to the smell of light oil. No idea why. I can never get it off my hands. The Frog Lube smells minty. It is a much better option. I normally use a rod with patches, mops, and brass brushes. Wipe down the outside with an old shirt.

Unless he has a fixed barrel config... yep those exist. And it sounds like he would have to give up his gun if he did that. @CBOW is the Dan Wesson blue or stainless?
-
My wife says junk.... I gave up really collecting anything years ago. I have some comics, ball cards, Backwoodsman magazines for a lot of years since they started in '85 I think. And a few other things. I used to collect cool computer stuff, but that got chunked in a clean out. I really don't classify myself a gun collector. @10-Ring If I had the space I would have a lot more parts and stuff. I worked for a construction company for a decade and passed on lots of free materials because I had no where to put them that was not disputed territory with the wife. She would rather throw everything away.

They are gonna need to start filling in the backstory soon or we are all going to be lost. Did you see Danai (Michonne) said season 10 is her last?
-
What brand was it? Most of the ones from the last decade use screwless designs.
-
Maybe... I agree with the rescue/mutt line of thinking. I had a Golden Retriever and ??? mix as a kid and he was great
-
@Chris that sounds fantastic. I will have to look more into it. Closer than TX, Farther than Loshbough. Still not cheap, but maybe I could convince the wife it is a good bday present for me if I try real hard.

How many nights do you hunt and is it private land?
