  1. Hozzie. Champions Choice shows "Out of stock" on Tenex. The do currently show 532 boxes of Eley Match in stock: http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=CategoryBody&c=APRAEL Maybe the have some that's not listed in the online inventory?
  2. The older 10/22 rifles had a push button for the mag release. Newer rifles all have a lever for the mag release. You can get varying lengths and designs for the mag release. Any 10/22 mag should fit and work in all generations of 10/22. The only exception that I'm aware of is the Thompson Center T/CR22 (10/22 clone) mags which incorporate a last round hold open when using the T/CR22 receiver. The T/CR22 can use standard 10/22 mags without the last round hold open. I've found that the 10-round Ruger mags to be the most reliable. I have a few BX-25 mags and they have been hit and miss. Surprisingly, the GSG 110-round mags have worked well for me if I load them to 100-rounds and take care to load them correctly. One of the most interesting 10/22 mags is from HC Mags. I have a couple of their HC3R Tac Packs (Gen 2) on order that should be here mid to late February: https://store1.hcmags.com/products/hc3r-tac-pac-gen-ii.html The stripper-clips allow you to load (and reload) an extended mag quickly. This way the spring in the mag doesn't loose tension by leaving it loaded all of the time. There is a plethora of options and accessories when it comes to 10/22 platform. It all depends on what you want to achieve and how much you willing to spend. I have several 10/22s that the only stock Ruger item on them is the 10-round Ruger mag. If you are going for precision, it's not hard to drop a couple of grand into a 10/22. If you just wanting a good plinker, you don't have to spend a lot. I do recommend either some trigger work or a drop in replacement. While they are far from cheap, I'm a big fan of the Kidd triggers. Another good (and less expensive) option on triggers is to send your existing trigger to Brimstone: http://brimstonegunsmithing.com/ Of course, you can always just learn to to do the trigger work yourself. The one thing I definitely would do to any stock Ruger 10/22 is install an auto bolt release. Rather than having to fiddle with the bolt lock to release the bolt, the auto bolt release allow you to slightly pull back on the charging handle and let go. It's well worth the small amount the part costs. Example (without shopping around) that I've used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R11VMDP/ Rather than buying the part, you can do a modification yourself: If you will provide an idea of how you plan to use the 10/22 or any goals you want to achieve (precision, defensive use, etc.) I can provide more suggestions.
  3. Leroy, I've got presbyopia (aka "oldman's eyes") and don't have any problem with the red dot or green dot. Personally, I prefer the green. If you have an astigmatism, the dot can appear as a star burst/blurry rather than a nicely defined dot. I've now got a Holosun 507C green dot on my IWI Masada (carry), my 10/22 Charger, and on a scout setup (barrel mounted picatinny rail) for the Ruger PC Carbine. I will be buying one of the new Leupold DeltaPoint Micro red dots for the Glock as soon as they hit the distributors. I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of the dot sights a my vision gets worse.
  4. Minor suggestion: Use a pair of scissors to cut slits in the edge of the vacuum bags to provide an easy tear point. As MacGyver stated, you manual dexterity will be affected by being really cold and anything you can do to simplify the usage process will help.
  5. I've got a Streamlight TLR-2 HL G (green laser/flashlight) on the bottom of mine, but I really prefer using the Holosun HE507C-X2 (green dot) that sits on top of it. Even the much less expensive Holosun HS407 (red dot) that was on it is a huge difference in usability in daylight over a laser.
  6. It may be possible to buy a spare cylinder, but it could need to be timed to for your revolver to operate correctly.
  7. I agree with the earlier posts... a 22LR pistol (or rifle) is a great firearm to have. Another option that you might want to consider, given the times we live in, is a pocket gun. Something that you can easily carry in your jacket pocket so that you may have it in your hand without anyone being the wiser. I consider pocket guns to be "get the hell off of me" firearms for short range only. I have a couple of NAA (North American Arms) 22LR/22Mag revolvers and a Keltech P32 pistol used for this purpose. In the NAAs I use the 22LR cylinder for "practice" and carry with the 22 mag cylinder full of Speer Gold Dot - Short Barrel. Out of the 1 inch barrel of the Pug, the 22 mag Speer gold Dots are about as loud as Glock 19 and have an average velocity of 932.18 fps. I put quotes around the word practice as the NAAs are the toughest pistols I've owned to be accurate with at any distance. I don't expect accuracy from pocket guns; they are for quick deployment at very short range. NAA BugOut II (left) and the NAA Pug (right):
  8. Nice Bergara. I also have a B-14R with the same Midas TAC scope, but haven't changed out the factory stock. I did add a TriggerTech Diamond trigger which is adjusted to about 4 oz and installed a Area 419 14" Arcalock Universal Rail so I could use my Ckye-Pod bipod. Have you found the ammo that shoots most accurately in you B-14R yet? Mine seems to really like the Lapua Midas Plus, but I'm about to try Eley Tenex. My Bergara BXR002 (10/22 clone) has an affinity for the Eley Match ammo. It wouldn't surprise me if the B-14R also likes Eley.

    GRIP SIZE

The Glock 17 has a longer magwell than the 19. Having a bit more grip extending below your hand is expected. Have you checked to make sure one of the larger grips is not installed on the G17?
  10. I too suffer from presbyopia (aka "old mans eyes") and need to use cheater glasses. As my eyes have gotten worse, requiring higher diopters, my view of the sights has become so bad to the point where the front sight is nearly useless. I've been through every type of Glock iron sight you can imagine. I even put a lasergrip on the Glock 26 for awhile... which I really hated. I finally broke down and bought a IWI Masada as it was optics-ready and not a lot more money than a slide or milling the factory slide. I figured selling the Masada would be easier than selling a slide if I didn't like the dot sight. On top of the Masada I mounted a Holosun 507c green dot. After getting a custom leather Avenger-style holder made by Desert Gun Leather, the Masada has now become my daily carry. Yes, with the dot site and Avenger holster (rather than a pancake I prefer) it's bulkier than I'm used to. But my confidence in being able to hit a small target has greatly increased. And as I practice with drawing the pistol, I hunt for the dot and circle less. I have to be pretty far off to not see the 65 MOA circle and the 2 MOA dot is small enough for accuracy if required. I really didn't want to depend on a electronic device on my carry pistol. But after shooting with one, I plan on converting a couple more pistols to dot sights over time. If you were closer (southern-mid TN area), I'd suggest swinging by and checking out the Masada/Holosun combo.
  11. Mark, At the muzzle the Stinger (191 ft/pounds) beats the Velocitor (183 ft/pounds) in energy, but loses power quickly. At slightly before 25 yards the Velocitor overtakes the Stinger in energy. But the 30 grain Aguila Supermaximum at 1700 FPS beats the Stinger at the muzzle with 193 ft/pounds and at range the 40 grain Aguila Interceptor outperforms the Velocitor. 12. I considered buying a RMR cut slide (or having the slide milled) for my Glock 26. For only a little bit more I bought a Masada that was already optics-ready to experiment with dot sights.

  14. I have several 22LR pistols. My favorite to shoot is the Taurus TX22 which even beats my tricked-out S&W Victory. I used the TX22 to teach my daughter-in-law how to shoot for the first time and ended up buying her one for her birthday. Filling it up Aguila (hollow-point) Interceptors makes for a decent self defense gun for those that are recoil sensitive.

    IWI Masada

Palmetto State Armory had blems at one time, but are currently out of stock: https://palmettostatearmory.com/iwi-pistol-masada-blem-9mm-17rd-4-1in-factory-blem-excellent-condition-m9orp17-b.html If you include the price of buying a second mag, KyGunCo has them new and in-stock for only $10 more (if you use Cash / Text-A-Check) than the price I paid: https://www.kygunco.com/Product/View?ItemNo=127972 Most places were sold out of the Masada at the time I purchased.

    IWI Masada

I hope you enjoy the Masada. I certainly like mine! Look forward to your thoughts on it.

    IWI Masada

I bought a (blem) Masada several months back. Despite the reviews online saying it shoots low with iron sights, I didn't have that issue with mine. It was dead-on from the factory. But the reason I bought the Masada was that it was optics-ready from the factory. Adding a Holosun HE507C green dot was dead simple. One of the standout features for me was the trigger is nearly as good as the Glock 26 trigger I put time, effort, and money into customizing. I've put a mixture of FMJ (Federal/CCI) and a couple of mags of each carry ammo (IMI, Speer Gold Dots, Hornady Critical Duty) with no issues. Total round count is around 500. Note I did clean and lube before firing the first shot. My big gripe is that IWI has been out of stock on the 17-round mags for the last few months. Since mine was a blem, it only came with one mag. I ordered 2 spare (17-round) mags and wish that I had bought at least 2 more before they were sold out. Speaking of the blem, I couldn't find a but one tiny discoloration on the right side of the frame. if I hadn't been looking for it, I wouldn't have ever noticed. After getting a leather avenger style holster from Desert Gun Leather, the Masada has become my daily carry. It's much larger than my normal carry of a Glock 26 in a OWB pancake holster. And the design of the Avenger holster makes it stick out even further. So it prints a lot more, but I don't care. I'd rather have something that I can shoot well and with the green dot, I'm a lot more accurate than simply point shooting. I have presbyopia (aka "old man's eyes") and need reading glasses to see iron sights. if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
  18. Yes, I would recommend it for new shooters and people getting back into shooting. Even people that have been shooting for a long time could benefit from it. Advanced shooters might find a problem they don't even know they have, My son said the Mantis-X is an advanced version of the thing they did in the military putting coins on the slide to practice being smooth on the trigger.
  19. I have an original Mantis-X that I've used primarily for dry-fire practice. It has helped making me aware of what I'm doing wrong. I was recently using it for more dry-fire practice since I'm shooting less at the range because of ammo costs, but ended up loaning it to my daughter-in-law who is a new shooter.
  20. Install the Streamer on any PC you want to control. Install Splashtop Business only on any device you want to use to control other computers. You can install both Streamer and Business on a PC (i.e your home computer) if you want. The Splashtop Business device can be a Windows PC or tablet, Mac, Android tablet, iPad, Android phone or iPhone. I have one customer that regularly connects to his office PC with his iPhone and does Quickbooks. I personally wouldn't do that as i find it frustrating from a phone to control a device (having to zoom in and out often) and carry a Windows laptop or tablet instead, but it works for him. Installing Splashtop is not difficult for the end user. You will need to create a deployment package first. Then you can then just send them a URL to download and run. When they open the link they'll have to check the box saying they trust the name listed there (likely your name) before the download button is available. Once downloaded, they run the installer, Click "yes" on the Windows UAC prompt, click "confirm" to allow access, then you can remote in to make any other changes to Spashtop settings. If you need to login when they are not at the PC, I highly recommend setting the PC power settings to never sleep. Just a FYI, I've gone all-in and have the Splashtop Remote Support Premium. It's cut down on the time I need to be remoted into PCs.
  21. No. I bought a commercial license, upgrading every 2 years, and TeamViewer went to a subscription model that would cost a bunch more. The licensing model of Splashtop for the low number of machines I need to connect to is less expensive and I can allow customers to use it to connect to their own PCs. I had this setup well before the Wuhan Flu and customers were all ready when they needed to remote into their business machines.
  22. I use Both Teamviwer and Splashtop. I bought a license for TeamViewer 11 and will continue using it as long as it works. I refused to pay the outrageous price of the annual subscription starting with version 13. I've already installed Splashtop on all PCs and there's only two things I really miss so far which is being able to open multiple machines in tabs (which should not effect you) and real time notifications when a PC comes online. You have to click the refresh button in Splashtop Business to see if a PC has becomes available. Splashtop otherwise functions fine.
  23. North American Arms has a great service department. I'd contact them and see if they wouldn't ship out a replacement mag catch rather than modifying the one on your new (to you) Guardian.
  24. I'm mulling over upgrading from Apple Airpods to the Airpod Pros to try the noise cancellation for shooting.
