  1. Not a good attitude. Whether you like them or not is immaterial. We should not give up any right due to the fault of one individual.
  2. Falcon Reborn I decided to take a trip for my birthday to the Ozarks. Slight turn to Nighthawk Customs in Berryville, Ar... Stayed in beautiful Eureka Springs. Month or so ago, I sent my Falcon in to the original builder for a face lift. I am second owner. It left NH in 2013 with a black slide and olive drab green frame. Evidently, the owner got sick of the green and had the whole gun cerakoted. Normally most of their black 1911s are Nitride. So I had them re- nitride the whole gun back to orig look. I changed out the g10 grips with another set of NH grips with a pewter NH emblem. I removed the rear Heine site, (hated it) and installed a Trij rear. While it was there, had them install new ss barrel and had it gold tin coated. They fine tuned everything and test fired it. At the advice of the builder, why not blacked the barrel bushing and trigger. It would look awesome. Gave him the ok. They had everything ready by time I arrived. These are awesome people. The facility is huge and top notch! I would recommend them to anyone. Here are some before and after shots. When bought.... Then to this by me...... Now......(excuse oil) Can’t wait to shoot it! 3. Guess having a Tattoo on my forearm wouldn't pass muster with that chart. Not a highly trained killer, but I got it to honor Chris Kyle when he died except black skull with target. White tats don't work on everyone.
  4. Might sound weird but I had similar probs with a snowblower. Did you try just drenching area with penetrating oil like A1 and let it sit over night? Just a though.

    FTF Sale

Yep Oh you have no idea... It's even worse now than before I left. With everything anti-gun, high taxes and dumb laws, you'd think the state would be a ghost town... People are leaving in droves of 10,000 a pop. Screw em. We tried to rectify it by voting out the demtards, but it was a useless endeavor. They'll learn the hard way.

    FTF Sale

I can care less about having the info in my file with your personal details. The short form above is fine by me as long as I can ID who you are via DL or CCW... I am concerned who the weapon is going too though. All my weapons I have for sale here have been purchased legally in the state on NJ. In NJ all pistols are registered. All weapons including rifle and sg require a firearms ID card. Everything gets several nics checks... When I sell or even give away a gun, I want the thing to be no longer attached to my name. You do something stupid with it, my paper trail will break anything leading to me. I did this even with my boy when he came back from being deployed in Okinawa. I trust him profusely, but I said to him, you decide to do something stupid in life, it will be on you. Sign here. He understood... No problem. So it's not personal. It's a precaution. That's all. You are right. Today's day and age, you must at all turns, CYA!

    FTF Sale

OK, so it sounds to me that the form I included above makes a good all around form. Can even be edited with your computer. Just leave out the Notary stuff. This is good because I usually have some filled out and on file in case of a sale... I previously had my own I created from a NJ COE... but this works better. Thanks again!!!

    FTF Sale

Question.... being new to TN, I'd like to clarify something when selling firearms face to face... for my knowledge as well as others new to the state. In NJ, we had all kinds of crazy rules so being here and already have purchased several 'new' guns from dealers, what exactly is required for a face to face sale? Rifles and Shotguns.... Pistols: ......? All personal sales require this form as well as proper ID? I've seen posted elsewhere that there is a form for face to face sales which is 4 pages called the TN Firearm Bill of Sale. Everything on the form seems pretty rudimentary but does every sale require a Notary ??? Here is a link to an editable pdf form: https://eforms.com/download/2015/12/tennessee-firearm-bill-of-sale.pdf Thanks in advance....
  9. I never had such peace and quiet, what sux is now I really hear my tinnitus... but it’s worth it.
  10. Ya know, you are going to want/need a cowboy holster....
  11. Cabot guns did them awhile back. Big big bux!
  12. We just moved here last Nov and there were conflicts. I wanted a big garage and 20+ acres and wife needed high speed internet. She still works and requires it for her job. So we settled in Gallatin for the time being. Got the garage, but just an acre of land. Minute she is retired, we are out of here. Or at least I am, We went from a 900 sqft house in NJ practically right under Rt 80 to this place, a little over 2100 sqft. Keep telling her I need a Segway, lol. I spent months trying to find internet on a piece of land. The providers know me by first name... But no go... Be leery when they say fiber optics is coming. I've been hearing that forever. They are slow down here depending where you are at. It's based pretty much by how many people scream for it. They get first dibs. AT&T is garbage speeds. Comcast can give you up to 1gig dl speeds. We are content with 275 right now... Good luck!
  13. I have Ubertis and have no probs with them. They are well made. I bought an Uberti because Colts were expensive and hard to find. I've always been a cowboy and had to have at least a pistol and rifle in my collection... both 45LC
  14. http://gunbelts.com/gun-belt-1-5-wide-leather-with-core-14-oz - Has a steel core. I use this most of thetime. or https://www.vedderholsters.com/cobra-quick-release-gun-belt/ - Vedder Cobra quick release. I use both depending on on pants or gun.
  15. Another haul. Will check it out too. I usually go to the ranges during the week in the am... can’t be too bad. Thanks.
  16. Wow! Seems nice. Quite a haul.... I knew I moved too far north, lol.
  17. Pretty much. They are not rough and they seem to breath fine. But then again, they are water proof.
  18. Wow! Awesome, thanks! Just watched the video and stuff. Looks exactly what I'd like. Price is great too. We paid more in NJ for lesser ranges. I put myself on the list... Hell, I need to buy a big hunk of land....
  19. Thanks gang... The Uberti even has the Colt clicks... I'm very happy with their brand.
  20. If you are a Amazon Prime member, you can get these $29.99 delivered 2 day free. I love pockets. Biggest problem, I get too many pocket, I forget what pocket I put things in. Actually need to have to practice a moa for them. I got tired of spending lot of money on the name brands. These are actually very comfortable and give you more options than the name brands in most cases. They feel very comfortable, ykk zippers and they seem to last. Free Soldier brand. They are China based so if you are a staunch supporter of Made in USA products, you may want to look elsewhere. But there are lots of brands not made here including almost all the name brands like Wrangler, Levis, Lee, etc.. 5.11 and Tru Spec are also not made in USA. Check them out... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CBJDM7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. We had that law in NJ for years. It ends up being an unenforceable law. PD will have to cross your path or set up check points to catch you. It's even worse when PD are also not using a hands free function. Bad examples... In all reality, it boils down to 'if you get into an accident or cause one, then they will see if it was caused by lack of common sense where the driver was using their phones'. They will then add additional violations. What happens even more so, a fatality is involved. For the life of me, why not use some sort of hands free device? Having a crick in your neck is distracting enough. Also, most newer cars have BT built in. It's a no brainer for me. Regardless of the law. It's just easier....
  22. Back in NJ, furthest range we had within reasonable driving range was only 300 yards. Does anyone have any intel on decent long distant ranges in middle Tenn or otherwise? Would really love to get into distance more. Thanks in advance... John
  23. PS: Had to remove some of the packets. Got it balanced at 50% humidity....
  24. An associate was asking about a display case for his wife’s pistol I believe. So I decided after seeing some display cases for insane prices, to make my own out of more or less cheap prices. This one will be for my Nighthawk Custom Falcon 1911. I started out with a humidor I had when I was on a cigar kick with the club. Humidors make perfect cases for your gun. Why? Its designed to keep moisture in so your cigars don’t dry out. Ones that are well made have a nice tight seal. ‘But John, we don’t want to keep moisture in. It will hurt the gun’. Correctomundo! But using it to keep moisture out works too! If you are not a cigar smoker, a humidor keeps the cigars from drying out by putting a moisture pad inside. We simply won’t be using the moisture pad nor the cheapo humidity gauge they usually give you. So lets start. One used but still in great shape humidor with glass lid. If you don’t have one, you can pick up something decent for about $50. I added a lik leather NH tag to use to open lid. They are air tight and easier to open with something to grab. If you use a humidor, they sometimes come with a lil shelf and divider. Toss them. Next, we added a little antique bronze clasp. 5 for $12 on Amazon. They come with tiny wood screws. You’ll need a jeweler type phillips head and a small awl to start a hole. Do not screw in without a starter hole. Also a mini pad lock with skeleton key. Next, you’ll want something to lay in there like velvet. I chose purple velvet. Rather than buy it by the yard, I actually got 2 - 14”x14” pillow shams with zippers on Amazon for about $11... This is a lot cheaper than buying it by the yard plus you don’t gave to sew anything. Just stuff it and zip it. You will need something to stuff it. That is your choice. I already had a bag of poly fill from another project. You can even rio open al old pillow and use the guts. Next is rechargeable Silica packs. I got a 25 count bag cheap also on Amazon. I chose to line the bottom of the case and also throw some inside the sham. Once you beat it and adjust it to get in the right position, you can see how the gun sits and adjust as needed. Next is optional and not cheap. I picked up 2 - Sensor Push bluetooth temp/humidity sensors for $50 each. One for the box and one for my safe. After calibrating them and pairing them to my phone, I inserted one into the display case. You don’t have to do this but I’m a bit of a tech nerd so.... [emoji6] You can also use a cheap digital one too. This one transmits data and stores 20 points which you can set alarms in the app if moisture increases. Kind of more important in my safe but....[emoji16] Here is a sample of the data. I just put them in so it will take time to level off. That’s pretty much it. Outside of the sensors, its cheap, easy and looks great. You can go crazy with it or go simple.
  25. I always wanted a cowboy gun for my collection. A buddy of mine, retired marine, said his eye sight wouldn't allow him to see the sights good any more. He had a Uberti Cattleman 45LC in stainless., What a nice gun. When you cannot afford or find a Colt Peacemaker, Uberti makes fantastic arms. In any event, I bought it from him. I already had a Uberti Yellow Boy Lever action, also in 45LC... The rifle is beautiful. Wood is excellent and brass is like gold. Which brings me to the point of this post. Uberti does not sell any pistol in stainless with brass features. But I wanted a lil brother for the rifle. So I started a project. Brass is beautiful but also a pain in the arse to keep from tarnishing and finger prints. I have a solution for that later. I decided to electroplate certain parts in Gold. Gold will not tarnish like brass. But all the look. Here are some of the steps... hope the pictures come out in logical order... (Did a few bullets too)... Broke down entire gun. Electroplating is fun. You can do it at home. This is not your KMart gold dip. You are actually electroplating via electric. Table top kits are avail for different finishes....Only caveat is certain metals will only stick to certain surfaces. Gold happens to stick onto stainless steel and a couple others. If you wanted to do copper, you'd have to plate another metal onto the gun that copper will stick too. If any of you are curious in taking on a project, check out Caswell Plating. They are NY State.... great people to deal with. https://www.caswellplating.com/ Oh, yea! If you never heard of it, Renaissance Wax or Ren Wax for short, stifles all tarnishing and makes wood look like a million bux. I believe it was created originally for museum pieces. A lil can goes a long way. It will reduce finger prints on brass and such and make grips and stocks luster. I did an experiment. I polished all my brass weapons. Knives, etc. They would tarnish quite rapidly if left unattended. After several months, went back to check and viola, no tarnish. Great stuff....
