  1. That sux! RIP CD, now really kick the devils arse before you go up!
  2. Yes, Govt model is 5".... I too have one I use to carry. But had it reworked and sights changed out cause getting too old to see combat sights. Had it chromed too. Rare for sure. Nobody does just nickel any more. Too expensive...
  3. I'd like to but seems I must graduate to it. Got the weapons but haven't shot past 100 yards in years....
  4. After waiting over 1.5 years on the list, finally got invited to Strategic Edge.. Member stuff came today. They forgot my red sticker though. Any members here? I plan on going down on a weekday to do a tour and familiarize myself eventually. http://www.strategicedge.us/
  5. Called that the Suicide Knob. Was outlawed in a lot of places many years later...
  6. Had about 2 dozen last year with 3 feeders hanging off our deck. This year is a slow start but it's getting there. Feeders should be cleaned regularly and we usually clean them when we replace the sugar water. What made a difference with us is we hung flowers baskets at the same level as the feeders. They are attracted to red, and they really love Hibiscus. They play hide and seek in the flowers too. Comical lil buggers. But whether or not they are feeding, you are suppose to change the mix cause it will go bad. When they do start coming and the feeders are low, they tap and look in our kitchen window and/or come around to the other side of the house to see if I'm in the garage basically saying, we need more juice dad! PS: The red necks usually grow up to be the boss birds and they -will- bitch out other birds and families other then their own. They'll sit a little higher than the feeder and watch and wait.
  7. We jut moved to Tenn and barely a month later we had to put him to sleep. He was by my side well over 17 years. It's been about 1.5 years he's gone. I'm/we are still not over him and I hate when people say should just get another dog. He wasn't just a dog. He was the smartest, lovable and most loyal friend I ever had... When we are ready, but it isn't time yet. To help us keep his memory alive, we hired a company called Petsies. After working with them over the phone for 5 months, he was re-born as a stuffed companion. People had no idea it was a replica when they seen him. I put him in his fav bed with his usual jewelry and toys around him next to the fireplace. It may sound weird but it helps me a lot. His ashes are on the buffet behind him and is surrounded by flameless candles that light when the sun goes down. All his other belongings are in a treasure chest I made in the master bedroom... I prayed to God every night to take me instead so my wife could not go through the pain but no word from the man upstairs. I'd take a bullet for him when he was a live and I'd gladly give myself up for him to live. I hope you find comfort in the fact your lil is looking down from above and like myself, hope to be with him again someday. Here are the shots of my lil guy alive and replicated. PS: Since day one, he made it his job to guard the manger under the tree every year. We did not teach him this. His last photo was him napping under the tree next to the manger. Christmas 2018.
  8. (rant-on) How about being almost locked in, (way before covid lockdown), since Dec 10th? 7 trips to emergency room, (7th time on Christmas Day), finally leading to open surgery and 22 staples holding my gut in? Then finally getting better, then they say I cannot go out and do stuff because of the Covid nonsense? They say keep occupied then get mad when you want to go to Lowes to find things to do at home? Top that off with arthritis in the first 3 knuckles of both hands. Tendinitis and chronic CTS also in both hands. Opps, speaking of arthritis, my neck always hurts and sounds like a socket wrench when I turn it. Got a bad left rotator cuff due to weight lifting years ago. Hard to lift left arm past a certain point. Screws holding foot on hurt and I can tell weather better than the idiots on tv, (lost 13% of dorsal flexion because of those nasty screws)... Knee surgery that was only a temporary fix till I got older? Doctors want to replace my knees, hips and in order to relieve pain in my hands, do knuckle replacement surgery. Yes, I want to be like the Terminator or Wolverine, not possible so it ain't happening till I collapse permanently. All this and more.... So does getting old suck? Big time... but I'd rather have your knee problem than everything listed above that screws me over each every day of my life. BTW, get that knee fixed right. I ripped all my tendons in my right knee in a fight and the doctor said it will heal normally and just use a brace. It did not! As a result, my right leg cannot lay flat on the floor which cause my right leg to act shorter. That will cause you to limp unless you put a elevator platform in your shoe. This is not a complaint to try to upstage your injury. It's just making a point. I'm sure there are many more out there worse off than me, (especially our vets).... It's funny how this came up. Just the other day, we saw a puppy that had no right hind leg not knowing or caring it didn't. Running around playing with the big guys. When I was a boy and had a paper route back in the early '70s, there was this one fox terrier type dog that loved chasing wheels. One day a car snapped his rear leg. Owners were assholes to say the least. Yet, the dog still chased cars with the leg dangling and him running full speed. Other than a healing time and even during, you ever notice animals will most of the time not stop their routines? They may whimper or even be at 50% health but they move on full steam. We as humans, are the only, imho, biggest pussy arse whiners on the planet. Whether a cold, flue or belly aches, we'd moan and groan. While we whine, mother nature just continues. We need to take lessons from Gods non-human creatures. (rant-off)
  9. They do NOT have the right to see it. They have the right to ask, state rules in their business, etc. If they are not satisfied, they can ask you to leave. Too many people have confused the terms: Rights, Privileges and Rules.... It is your Privilege to drive your car properly documented. It is not your right. You have Rules that state, you do not want peoples feet on your coffee table in your home. You have Rights as a citizen as per our constitution. ie, Right to Bear Arms. It is not your right to go against someone else's rules on private property nor break their rules. It is a privilege for this restaurant, for instance, that they allow you to eat there. It is not your right or by your rules otherwise. They have no rights to seeing personal documents unless you are willing to show them. They cannot demand them but they can ask you to leave. Easiest way is places need to post it! Period! Did I get this across somehow?
  10. I don't consider it a right thing. They are not police and have no right to access that type of info imho. But it should be posted as a rule on the door and you should make the decision before entering. No more than they have the right to ask you for your social security card or anything else that is personal and kept safe. Hence, if you don't approve, just leave.
  11. Lax Ammo: https://www.laxammo.com/ Freedom Munitions: https://www.freedommunitions.com/ Not sure what cal you are looking for but both of these companies are good to go. Been using both for years and prices are fair. Shows various cals in stock...
  12. Exactly... my point and why? We haven't had to use any more tp than normal. They expecting to have their arses explode? You never hear any reasoning or talk about it on the news, online or otherwise...
  13. /rant-on Same deal with Krogers and Sams Club. Been there before open. Make beeline to TP... None! They said they never know when it comes in. Rather than deal with people finding stuff, (give yourself a cookie and pat on the back, lucky you), I want an answer from anyone and everyone. Especially the govt.! Where the EFF is all the toilet paper? Why is it always out of stock? Get these paper companies cooking! They want you to stay home but going on a hunt to provide for your stinky arse wiping paper, puts you out more than you need to be. Just where is the stuff? It started almost from day one. Who has these huge fat arses using it all? Are they saving it for the night before Halloween to fill trees with? Seriously! WTF! If you want the rough stuff, props go out to Georgia Pacific. The only stuff you might, just might find online or in some stores. /rant-off OK, so where is it then: https://www.npr.org/2020/05/06/850696740/everyone-wants-what-he-makes-at-the-always-busy-charmin-toilet-paper-factory
  14. Ruger 10/22 Takedown Lite Tactical... plinks all day long without fail...
  15. I use gasoline right now on my Generac, but I want to get a whole house gen and run it off natural gas with a backup for gas or propane. Pricey though but it will happen when it reaches top of my priority list.
  16. Adding more cameras and lights. Have generator in garage instead of shed. Too muddy to drag out and found out just how muddy red clay is. Yeesh, what a mess. More vigilant starting it for maintenance. Make sure starter battery is charged. Need I say more lights? Staged weapons, plenty of ammo. Teaching wife what to do in case of emergency. You'd be surprised what they don't know like how to turn off the gas and water main... Seriously, if you need security, the Ring system is perfect. $100 a year for unlimited devices and 24hr monitoring. Easy installs. Takes minimal effort to make your home like Fort Knox if you choose to. Whats nice also is you can build on it as needed or as affordable. Start out with basic system, doorbell cam and maybe one other ca, some door contacts... add over time. Its not as painful. Buy direct from them and they support Affirm which is more like a loan where you pay no interest. If you subscribe to the monitoring, they discount some of their equipment.
  17. 45+ years.... Was president of my high school amateur radio club. Don't need the extra class but have a general ticket. Good luck.. Learn Morse anyway. Its a great skill... WX2....
  18. Good luck! Wishing ya a speedy recovery....
  19. Pay doctor bills. Already paid my fed taxes. Could use it.
  20. I'm retired. Wife works from home and she shops for if needed. I have plenty of projects buuutttt....... If I just want to go for a ride with no human interaction. I’ve been locked in my home for 5 months due to a medical situation. 7 trips to the ER. Now I’m on the mend after surgery, I want to get a look at life, smell some fresh air, trees, see my neighborly farm animals, some babbling brooks, etc. No harm in that! 22 staples removed yesterday from surgery! You bet I need out! Major cabin fever and going bat #### crazy! Light duty for now. But finally can get out of here once in awhile. Some people don't get it and are crowded in Lowes and stuff. I see no reason for that but total lock down except for essentials? BS!
  21. If you didn't have a belly, you wouldn't need a belly gun, lmao! (Proud owner of an old man belly,, lol)
  22. 45LC Yellowboy and Cattleman...
  23. IMHO, its not that it would make it the wild wild west. I believe this state is good to go because it is a gun culture state. I would like to see the untrained, just throw a tiny gun in my pocket or purse type crowd, get training though. (ever been on the wrong end of a gun barrel?).... But there is no way to enforce that. Hell, I'd like to see everyone go into a shoot house training session to see how they'd do and maybe really get a clue. But that won't happen either. In any event, I think we'd be fine here. The wild west mentality mentioned, is NOT the first time I've heard that. Not just from politicians either. The public are just as bad. The are either parroting or watching too many tv/movies involving guns. I do believe it could be problematic in states like NJ, (where I'm from), NYC, etc... There will be an over abundance of people strapping like you've never seen. If you live/grown up in a gun culture state, business as usual hopefully... If you live in a anti-gun state, I can see Bernard Getz mentality all over... Just to fyi some that may have not seen this. : Best States for Gun Owners (2019) https://www.gunsandammo.com/editorial/best-states-for-gun-owners/369075
  24. Just my thoughts.. 1: Among other things, "R" stands for Republican but also stands for "RINO"... I've learned over the years, that most upper brass LE when promoted, slowly turn into politicians. 2: If they amend a rule, (correct me if I'm wrong), just adding to the office's interaction, "are you carrying a weapon?", which I believe is always a good idea. Felon criminals or any, that carry weapons will never admit to having one on their person. You are not required to tell a LEO in this state, that you are carrying in any scenario, but it is wise to do so. I agree that this can be problematic to the state. But it is what it is. Time will tell. Use of other states stats, I'm sure gave them insight. By no means does it create a western shootout state. Other anti 2a states, including NJ, (a may issue state but rarely does), from where I lived for over 60 years, was worried that our town would become a shootout town because we opened a gun range. We emphasized that law abiding citizens do not create a bad scenario for the most part. In fact, most are very well versed and trained with their firearms. Whether required or not, I'd advise training always. I told my wife, she will not carry without practicing regularly out of fear she'll shoot me by accident, (or on purpose, lmao)...
