Any plumbers or septic tank experts on board?

BTW, that was a very expensive lesson my father learned the hard way. Six kids, twelve years is all it took. -
Any plumbers or septic tank experts on board?
Currently replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
For those of you that never had a pumped out septic tank ... think about this. Solids settle on the bottom. Solids do not dissolve. Solids come from indigestible food and leavings that rot but don't dissolve. Solids come from sand and dirt, floor washing and laundry. Solids come from lint, plastics and whatever else that goes down the drain. Solids also come from "wet-strength" paper that is formulated in some toilet papers, paper towels and especially sanitary napkins. So now the bottom of the tank starts filling up ... less and less water with microbes doing the decomposition work. Eventually, the tank fills and solids start tricking into your leach field. Your leach field clogs up with silt. You now are looking at a $15-30k bill to build another leach field IF YOU HAVE ROOM ON YOUR PROPERTY TO DO SO! So unless someone invents a solution that turns solids to liquids in an environmentally safe fashion, pump that crap out from the bottom of your tank at least every five years. The more liquid in your tank, the more bacteria will separate solid from liquid keeping a 'happy' functional septic system. Those that want to continue believing in magic .... carry on. -
My coworker experienced a KB doing a mag dump with his glock last year. I don't think he was using reloads. He was left high and dry with no recourse... soured him so much that he sold all his glocks.

The 2.0 system has digital rights management... You will only be able to use their brand. I did buy two beautiful stainless Freiling French Presses ... Work great with good beans. Kept breaking the glass ones. -

Beg your pardon, not a gift but a curse ... We have two more years of another curse that we have to keep a close eye on. Even though he's just been neutered, we still have to stay on top of issues. -
Bargain 3.5" folding knife for <$5
Currently replied to cybernorris's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I bought a Klein (electric tool manufacturer) folding knife as a daily work knife. I will put that steel blade against any 400 dollar knife. Surgically sharp, keeps an edge for a long time and sharpens easily and well with a diamond whetstone. Fits well in pocket with a clip. I'm actually getting rid of all my buck knives and standardizing on these just for the utilitarian aspect. https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/pocket-knives-one-blade/black-lightweight-lockback-knife-2-12-64-mm-drop-point-blade -

No, he's driving a cab in Chicago ... Could of sworn he was the one that drove me to Palatine for training last spring. ;) -
Death knell for 22 ammo speculators?
Currently replied to Currently's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks for the thoughtful responses, I cannot and will not subsidize a reseller. I'll either sell the gun or park it for whatever time it takes. There is this burning fantasy I have, to watch all these resellers sit on a large quantity of ammo that is just now worth msrp. I remember in economics class learning about the great tulip crash that happened in Holland where fortunes were lost and families ruined speculating on tulip bulbs. I see a lot of parallels here ... http://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dutch_tulip_bulb_market_bubble.asp -
Pistol powder is starting to trickle back

If you want to see deliberate stupidity ... Check out Benton Shooters Supply. Best stocked store in TN. 50+ /lb for Varget... 250+ for 8lb of W748 I waited and paid msrp shopping on line. -
Given the impetus driving that market was the fear that BHO was going to ban and/or regulate the heck out of firearms and ammo ... Do you believe that as a result of the recent elections, that fear has gone away and these speculators are now sitting on hundreds of thousands of rounds that are now worth MSRP? Please let it be so! The only way to sustain that market is to buy everything in sight ... I don't see this happening. Comments?

Thanks for the heads up! I got their last 8lb HP38 keg. Still plenty of one pounders left along with a good selection of other powders such as Varget. Felt like the old days when there was all to be had available. Prices are better than I've seen anywhere else. It was worth the drive ...

I read the book several times and that scene is NOT in the book. If this is representative of what the rest of the movie is like ... it will be disappointing. The book stands well on its own merits, creative artistic license is not helping.

http://www.shootingtimes.com/ammo/small-vs-large-pistol-primers-45-acp/ http://www.starlinebrass.com/articles/Small-Primer-vs-Large-Primer/ Rumor I have read several times is large primer decision is because one can make .45 ACP by cutting down 30.06 brass.

Best onine vendors for 5.56 ammo?

Don't hold your breath for specific delivery times with PSA. When it arrives, it arrives. It is their only weakness. -
Met David (DLM37015) for the first time at the gun show and bought a decent quantity of reloading supplies. As many affirmed here, he has fair pricing and is very knowledgable with a great inventory. Almost like the good old days when gun shows were a place to buy what you needed.

Dillon dealer in Knoxville or Chattanooga?
Currently replied to Currently's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Only thing I need right now. Actually have an order coming in tomorrow from them, took a week to come in. That is why I am looking for a walk in retailer. Tax vs. shipping make it a wash ... -
I need a 650 Strong Mount kind of quickly and don't want to travel to the Outpost Armory (150 mile round trip). Anyone know of a Dillon dealer close to Chattanooga? I may be going up to Knoxville later this week for work so that is an option. Next on the list will be hitting David for components once the press is set up.
