22LR AR15 magazine question
krunchnik replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Your completely right about all plastic.I am the armorer at Range USA and we have a S&W 15-22 in our rental inventory-I clean it every 2 weeks and it is holding up pretty well. So far all I have replaced is an extractor hook and plunger with spring-A parson can replace the trigger group but the plastic lower pin holes get a little out of shape fairly easy. Magazines are kind of a soft spot-the feed lips at the rear get a groove worn in and the rounds will self feed all over the floor-it would be a good idea to have one as a spare. -
22LR AR15 magazine question
krunchnik replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
There is a company called Better Mag that makes a lower magazine well adapter that fits into the AR lower and converts it to use the S&W MP15-22 magazines that also works as a last round hold open.I have one for my dedicated CMMG upper and they work really well.A person just slides the adapter into the lower and install the upper assembly and away you go. -

Thanks for the heads up-I have watched all previous showings

Yup-all steel and heavy at that

I have the .40 S&W version of 4-and rotate it with my Ultra Carry. My version is a bit heavier than the 9mm but still very well carried.I run mine with a fair amount of FP10 on the rails and have as of yet experienced no feed issues.

I talked with the maker and said that it was wear the bends and seams stretch to reveal a brownish tint underneath-so they touched it up and sent it back. It actually looks Okay so I guess I am happy. At least he was nice enough to call and care what I thought. Also thanked me for being a customer.

Ya-that's exactly what it looks like-any wear and the brown is showing through.
-
It is leather and I couldn't get pictures that represent the problem-not enough of the right kind of light to enhance the picture.Suffice to say that at every wear point if something like a shirt or such rubs-it starts to show a brown under the black.
-
Thanks-Ya that's exactly what shipping was but I added an extra layer of insurance on the package-I got hosed one time by USPS-somehow a fairly expensive scope I sold got lost-and they never found it
-
Well-the manufacturer has requested I ship the holster back to them so they can inspect it.I can say I am not pleased that I now am spending more money on the holster.Oh well-I will reserve judgement until I see what the outcome of this inspection will be.

Just wondering if the collective has ever had or seen a holster that looks like the black is painted over a brown base-I have one that looks like this and am wondering if its a mistake by the maker or a way to sell a blemished holster as new-or possibly change color due to in stock availability. In any event I have an inquiry into the maker but has as of yet received a reply. If this is something that's a normal occurrence I will say all's fair-but I don't think it's the case. I have owned a bushel basket of holsters of all makes and not witnessed this.I wouldn't make a large fuss but-it's $140.00 holster.

Here in Lakeland it was even hard to tell there was a storm-Comcast was out since 11:00 PM Saturday and was restored about 10:00 AM the 29th.Twas it for our damage

More than likely the extractor is either to tight or to loose-my guess would be a little on the tight side.Changing recoil springs may help but I doubt it.If you want to check extractor tension there are several videos on U-Tube that describe the process.

Darned old red tie commie's-what will they think of next to complain and whine about.I myself think it's high time the lot of them pull up their grown up pants and move on-if that's at all possible.
