  1. I would also suggest a device like Circle to limit internet at home and monitor access: https://meetcircle.com/ They were bought by Disney, but they’re great devices - especially for the sub-$100 price point. You can get them at Target
  2. I know, right? I spent the last half of the 90s in Seattle. It’s like a whole decade wouldn’t even have happened.
  3. And if that wasn’t enough - try Losing my Religion as a pop song:
  4. I love this - and feel somehow betrayed at the same time. How different the 90s might have been had Nirvana simply chosen a major chord.
  5. Got a member with some serious health issues going on today - y'all's prayers would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I’ve had a decent year - as have most of my friends here in middle Tennessee. I’ve not been left wanting. Hopefully my luck will hold with hogs down in Alabama.
  7. That was a heck of a game.
  8. I’ve got a few 45-70s including a handi-rifle. I don’t find the recoil to bad out of the H&R even with full house loads. Seems like mine has a decent recoil pad. Seems like you could get a soft shooting 300gr. load without much problem.
  9. Temperatures this cold can make any moisture accumulate in trouble spots laying down black ice that can be quite dangerous. The general consensus at TDOT is that brine is cheap and it’s better to have it down than wish you had it down.
  10. Interested in what you find out.
  11. Merry Christmas, y’all. I hope each of you finds this season filled with kindness and happiness, and that you get to spend time with the people you love.
  12. My oldest daughter loved their cover of Bad Company when she was little.
  13. Oh man. Thanks.
  14. You know what else is more than $475? Divorce lawyers.
  15. There's no safe way to get a real safe down a flight of stairs without the right tools. I'm going to want someone with those tools and insurance to move my safe.
  16. It was the Safe House.
  17. I think I paid $200 to move my last safe. It was worth it.
  18. The moment Greg drills a classic pistol to feed some flavor of the week we'll know that it's time to start worrying about him... I'll call his wife and kids to get them to secure the rest of the collection before he can harm himself or any of the guns.
  19. I got to shoot a $150,000 Imperiale Montecarlo one time. It didn’t break 100 times as many birds as a $1500 Silver Pigeon, but man it sure was pretty.
  20. EPBFi in Chattanooga is a great example of a public infrastructure project done well. And it's led to companies investing in Chattanooga and jobs being created that almost certainly wouldn't have been otherwise. And yes, the politicians are bought and paid for to guarantee that others in the state don't get the opportunity to do similar. I guess you're not sending Marsha Blackburn a Christmas Card?
  21. So, as someone who feeds his family on the internet, I'm generally pro net neutrality. But, there's a lot to consider here. First, I would pretty much prefer the government stay out of it at large, but recognize that there are some giant government-blessed monopolies that can and do affect the market at large. As, the free market doesn't really care if you live or die - we're going to eventually have to come up with some framework that makes sense. Obama's attempt in 2015 was a half-hearted swing - and sweeping it up under Title II of the Telecommunications Act of 1934 wasn't the right approach. The internet isn't a public utility - and attempts to regulate private companies as such is clunky at best. Action was needed. But, neither can we take our hands off - or should we. You hear the telecom companies complaining about all the investment they're making in their networks, but almost every big infrastructure project has some public money financing it. We as taxpayers deserve to get traffic via those lines - because we do pay for some of them. A lot of what we're seeing right now from the big telecom carriers is more concerned with getting around the Telecom Reform Act of 1994 than it is anything else. That's a whole different (long) post.
  22. And with a word of thanks to Bud, thread closed.
  23. We see plenty of pistols coming out of there. Any place is going to have issues as they scale - but they’ve certainly got some incentives to square them away over time. But, either link to a primary source instead of “my buddy says” or I’m closing this thread.
