  1. Man, Siri is good for some things, but apparently transcription isn’t one of them. I read those sentences and thought, “who wrote that?” Then I remembered that I dictated it while I was out walking last night and it made more sense.
  2. I used one with my black lab. It had to modes. And adjustable shock mode and a baby mode. I used it in shock mode exactly once on each of us. I wanted to get a feel for the different levels, and I used it with her when she was young learning to heel off leash. She was a smart enough dog that she figured out what I wanted very quickly. But, I used it with her in the field for years on beep mode. I trained her on beeps to follow commands when she was out of earshot from me. Like anything, you have to put in the time, but it worked great and I would use it again. Mine was a Sport Dog version, too. Seems like the batteries wouldn’t last more than about a year, but they’re pretty cheap. You’ve got a dog thinks it’s the boss, and you’re gonna have to get that squared away soon or you likely won’t get another chance. You’ve got the focus, and the patience, and the time though, so I expect it won’t be a problem
  3. Yeah, truthfully that has more to do with the fact that UT just doesn’t make it onto my radar screen. Vanderbilt hasn’t had much of a season, so it’s hard to imagine a team being bad enough to get spanked that soundly.
  4. Man. I thought Vanderbilt might have the heart to win today - but I wouldn’t have bet on them beating UT that soundly. That’s a pretty embarrassing end to and an embarrassing season for the Vols.
  5. So many of the manufacturers are leveraged to their eyeballs and have depended on military contracts to stay afloat. It wouldn’t surprise me to see us a few of the brands bought for pennies on the dollar at auction over the next few years.
  6. Every family has crazy somewhere... But, I am truly thankful that it’s far enough removed from both sides of my wife’s and my immediate family that I can enjoy two Thanksgiving dinners without the crazy family drama that so many experience.
  7. My kids walked through the woods for two miles this morning with their granddad. Apparently to the QuikTrip to get giant cold drinks. Fun times.
  8. Today I am truly thankful for family and friends. I’m thankful for the relationship my kids have with their grandparents. I’m thankful for recipes that have been passed down for generations through families. And, I’m thankful for pecan pie.
  9. I’m thankful Baja Burrito. And fruit tea. I’m thankful when I open my refrigerator. Every single time. Without fail. It’s like I’ve won the lottery every morning. That almost sounds like I’m kidding, but I’m not. I’ve been enough places in the world to know what a blessing it is to have safe food whenever I want to consume it. I can provide for my family and not have to worry about where our next meal is coming from. That is a huge blessing for which I am thankful.
  10. I am so thankful for my family - for my wife and each of my children. I’m thankful for a church family that lifts me up and does life alongside me. I’m thankful for the family that I choose in my friends - many of whom I’ve known my whole life and some I’ve just known a few short years. I am thankful for many people I’ve met here - many with challenges and many with so much to share. Many of your families and situations are in my prayers. But, I am grateful to know you and to be known by you
  11. This is the resulting product from Bond Arms buying the assets of Boberg a couple of years ago, right? I know the Boberg - XR9?? pistols had some issues. I'd sure want the chance to really put one of these through its paces before dropping that kind of coin on one. Neat concept though.
  12. That’s a moisture problem. Get rid of fhe moisture and it ought to cease to be a problem. Watch for rust, too.
  13. I saw yesterday where they’ve lost the most recent outing against every team in the SEC.
  14. If figured they fired him before having to suffer the indignity of losing to the Commodores.
  15. Unless you've got doubts about the provenance of the rest of the collection, I don't know why finding an old parts gun in a box would cause reason for concern. Once upon a time I paid $15 for a box of non-working pistols. I put a couple hundred dollars of parts into them and got several of them working - it was more of a fun project than anything. There was nothing of note that anyone would really want. I'm sure I've gotten rid of most of them over the years, but it wouldn't surprise me to find one or two still in the bottom of a box of parts somewhere.
  16. Churches and extended communities can be such a blessing in cases like these if you have one. Another pitch for “aid and attendance” benefits if they apply. It’s been so helpful with my grandmother. If you think this might apply in her case and need someone to talk to about it, shoot me a PM. Something I really appreciate about my parents is that after dealing with it with my grandmother, they squared away long term care options for themselves to take as much of that off of my sister and I when it comes time as possible.
  17. Man, you’ve been pining after one of these (or maybe what it should be) for what, three years? I think you need to just go ahead and get one and get it out of your system. It might be a dog - but if anyone can spend the time to be able to trust it - it’s probably you. I’ve not spent a lot of time on the platform - but how many Kel-Tec’s Have you run over the years? It can’t be worse out of the box.
  18. I like the Surefire frontend, too. I don't like the TLR1 on a shotgun. They're inexpensive, but the ergonomics just don't work for me. I do like the Inforce WML mounted on the side where I can hit it with my thumb. Whatever you get, you just need to really run it and make sure it works for you.
  19. That stinks!
  20. Wow. That’s not cheap. Still, it is a pretty neat piece of equipment. I rolled my own smokeless from a handi rifle - and it is .45 caliber. I’ve not had a problem because I’ve mostly been shooting sabots or cast. But, it would be nice to open up some other long range options. I’m not certain I paid that much for the handi rifle in the first place - so I suppose I could spend a little change on accessories, right?
  21. I need one of those swing lock dies.
