  1. I agree, research is the key to movie-going these days. I usually know pretty much the entire movie and plot before going out. With all the trash that's available to the public, and exposing the kiddies to it; I think it's a must to know beforehand what you'll see onscreen.
  2. Go for it, buddy. Stronger cartridge-fun to shoot-still cheaper than 556-and availibilty is still pretty good. Kind of a no brainer actually.   Since I never got any of those sub-200 cases, I really can't make too many comments. but Garufa's right about the 7.62x39 pricing. Around me, and the online prices I've seen seem to be from 229 to 269 per 1000.   Over the last few years, my costs seem to have been around 200 to 229 per 1000.    Might find some a little cheaper than that, but will take some serious looking.
  3. Glocks are very dangerous pistols to get into. They seem to exert a powerful influence on the owner to buy more of them.

    Season 4

  5. Yes, that is nice whitewolf001. Wish I'd been more on the ball when the importation began on the VEPR line....could have gotten 2 for the price of one these days.   Maybe I'll walk into another trade deal for one.   Well, I can dream.. can't I?
  6. Hey Kieefer. Try the Transylvania move. It's hilarious.
  7. And all I have is a couple of supposedly low end models. Think if I had a good one! That would be awesome!   I'd still like one of the VEPR models in 556.
  8. Nice starting collection.   I got my first, an old Olympic model, about 5 years ago. Got it as payment for some money I was owed. Not sure who got the best of that deal.   Then, a couple years later, a Colt Sporter in 9mm. Still my fav.   Since then, there's been a couple of Bushmasters and a Sabre. Both long gone. And there have been a couple more lately, including a Colt 6920 Magpul and a Sig has passed thru my hands a time or two.   But the strange thing is that I really, so far, prefer shooting a couple of AKs that I've acquired in trades. Go figure.
  9. And there are a lot more of the assholes in the country this time as well.
  10. A little skinny...but a nice caboose.   Oh....shoots pretty nice too.
  11. Good one. Had me going for a bit.   But not impossible.
  12. I don't know if it was the same guy, but I'm assuming it was. I think, but am not sure, that the same bass man and drummer from the orginal Stray Cats are still with Setzer.   There was a segment with the bassist from Firebirds, the opening act, and the orchestra bassist in a sort of "dueling bass" set that had them both doing antics like standing on the sides of their instruments, and swapping hands on the other's bass. It was pretty entertaining.   And Setzer did a similar number with one of the Sax players that wasn't quite as good I thought.   I really wish I had gone back for the Monday night show as well.
  13. Is this overkill?   I have an old Stackon safe I bought from Dicks quite a few years ago. It was not a great one when new, but after the 2010 flood, it had a lot of rust starting after I stripped out the liner and shelving. I sanded and used a rust inhibiting primer on the interior, sat it up on blocks so it was at a better height for me' and now use it for locked ammo storage.
  14. Well...I did embarrass my wife somewhat. Does that count?
  15. Thank you, Mac, I hadn't seen this. Looks like I won't make it thru the morning without tears.
  16. AS the thread title says...to paraphrase: Since we no longer revere history, nor even acknowledge a lot of it; how can we expect to learn from it?   Those who say it can't happen here need to look closely at world events for the last 20-30 years and get a clue.

    Funny

An oldie, but still a goodie. Thanks for the laugh this morning.
  18. Yep, The size of the FN pistol is my only problem with them; otherwise great pistols. I've had both the FN-9 and FNX series and really thought well of both. I did however, trade them off because of that reason.
  19. Sherriff Joe has always had his head screwed on right and his heart in the right place...Concern for this nation and its citizens.
  20. Good listen. Thanks for it, Spots.   On a personal note, every time I see a bugler and/or hear taps; I think of my late father. Jack B. Cpl, 101st Airborne. R.I. P. Dad.
  21. For me, it's the quote/multi-quote function as well. :stunned:   Emoticons seem to working though.
  22. No go on Mystery Train during the show I saw. I was hoping for it as well, but couldn't complain on the set selections as they were great. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite from the show . But was absolutely blown away when he launched into the Stray Cats set.
  23. That's a heck of a stadium though.
  24. :surrender:It will be a real emergency before I fly anywhere again. This insanity seems to know no bounds.
  25. Go for it, bersaguy. Unless it's a real lemon, it should be a good one.   I've had a 4" ported, blue Tracker 44 for about 6 years. Don't shoot it a lot, but I paid 400 otd then.
