  1. Congrats on the great wife and gift.   RIA is a great pistol.
  2. In a word.....Nope.
  3. My thoughts...Glock, HK P7/13,Taurus, Ruger,Glock, Beretta Neos(?),Colt,, Glock, Smith, Smith, XD, Glock.
  4. Hell, the ACLU and the GLAD groupies would fall all over themselves for an opportunity like that billyscott. The kid's family would be waist deep in lawyers begging to defend him.
  5. Anyone go to this show? If not...   You MIssed One Hellofa Show!!   It was unbelievable. Setzer's guitar playing is absolutely amazing.   And the opening act, the Firebirds are one of the highest energy shows I've seen in years.   Actually thinking of checking the box office to see if tickets are still available and going back to tomorrow night as well.
  6. Come on...I dare you...Tell me you big strong men didn't tear up and get a lump in your throat at that.   I certainly did.   That was awesome!!
  7. I would love to add a 17L to the family!
  8. I remember .25 gas. Heck I remember paying .21 a gallon when I first started driving. Then when I was at TTU, gas went to .65 a gallon and we all paniced.   Ahh...those were the days.
  9. FWIW, I have a set of Peltor Tactical 6S muffs. I absolutely love them. My only issue is that my overly large cranium would like a little more adjustment in them.
  10. Luke E is absolutely right. The cake or the business owners' views and right to serve/or refuse to serve is totally irrelevant to the couple/ACLU. It's all a matter of publicity and shoving their lifestyle views into the forefront.
  11. Wow. Amazing kid. 2 years old?!?   What future ahead.
  12. Yes, he should be required reading/listening.   His tale of conversion is both inspiring and terrifying. To see that there is such a concentration of the communist viewpoint in the upper strata of this nation is quite incredible.
  13. At least invite them all over to watch you clean a shotgun or 2.
  14. Not a camo fan usually...but I like this.
  15. Been checking all day for news. Great to find that she's found.
  16. Congratulations on the new purchase. Might I suggest the SR45 next? It is a fabulous piece of Ruger workmanship.   Tell your wife the next one is for her.
  17. Troutburger raises some very good points.   I have an acquaintance that runs a small shop, commercial, not from home, but he's had a hard time getting product to sell. Most of his new comes from distributors, so his pricing usually isn't real low.   He was a stocking dealer for Glock for a time, but the requirements for amount of stock and initial purchase was pretty tough on him.    Not trying to talk you out of anything you want to do, just be cautious and careful.
  18. Probably will have to be after Christmas. Things are piling up around here with family gatherings and such.
  19. Prayers for you, your family, and your daughter.
  20.     I readily agree with both these comments. I'm pretty envious right now.

    Para P12

A friend of mine bought a Para several years ago. He raved about it for weeks. Then we went out to G&L in Greenbriar for a little session with it and several other guns. Since Mark was so hyped up on the Para, we all stood back and watched him blaze away for several mags. He turned to us and disgustedly said it was an inaccurate pos, and made several more unkind remarks about it. He had rounds all over a standard man-sized target, saying the sights were off on it. I asked to try it, inserted a mag, and emptied it. Shooting at 10 yards, first time with a fat, double-stack 45, and I had several 10 ring and X hits; with an overall grouping of about 3.5 inches. I handed it back to him and said I don't think it's the sights. Nothing more was said about it. The moral of the story...try it out first. Paras are a little different from the standard 1911 and might take a little getting used to. But find out for yourself. Not everyone likes the same guns.
  22. A good plan, and I'm sure many of us would happily contribute. But overseeing the received donations, and verifying their correct use could be problematic.   That being said...I'd go for it.
  23. I've seen all of the "new" Dr. Who series with the exception of the latest incarnation.   Personally prefer David Tennant, and his predecessor whose name I can't remember now.
  24.       "Most accurate carbine I've had yet"??   So which IS more accurate?
  25.   Now you've gone and done it. Let my supply line loose on here. That's awful. Just kidding.   I've been a customer with Ammoman for 6-7 years. I can't really remember how long exactly, but prices have always been fair and with free shipping I haven't had to worry.   Of course with the pricing over the last year, Eric, as well as most others have adjusted accordingly. But prices and availability seem to be getting better and I hope to be able to go back and continue buying from him.
