  1. Ideologues are seldom ever happy. Sadly they miss opportunities for good.
  2. Oh, get one with the depth adjustment on an external slider rather than the ones with it built into the plunge lever. Easier to fiddle with.
  3. I bought one off Amazon a few years ago, floor model. Cheaper than HF. It was made in China as well. It has worked good. When I received it I checked to make sure the table was square with the quill and it was. It's not in constant use, but use it pretty often. I guess they all use a taper quill so using it like a milling machine is out, the whole chuck will come loose! I would bet that even the name brands, Delta, Craftsman or whoever are all made in China these days unless you spring for one of their higher end models. Getting one that will make square holes is the key, ha!
  4. Nice piece! Watch the roll pin that holds the rear Ellison sight on. They aren't hardened very much and have been know to fail causing the rear sight to pop out and get lost. When I shot mine a lot I replaced it with a solid pin.
  5. Good stuff at AIM dosen't last long. They also had some DAO Smith 64s with heavy barrel.
  6. Not a bad deal for $349. Double action only. https://aimsurplus.com/smith-wesson-model-6906-9mm-caliber-pistol
  7. I think I still have some of this plastic case .38s and a couple of boxes of bullets to go in them. Never did have the loader mechanism though.
  8. I like the show, didn't think last nights was one of their best. On again tonight at 8pm central. Looks like Friday will be it's new night.

    New job

A buddy of mine has done that for a while and does pretty decent. He always has good tales to tell. If you're driving in Nashville don't forget to collect your bonus when dropping people off at the strip clubs. $12 a head.
  10. I've got one mounted to a AR upper. I've taken several yotes with it. It can be a little clunky. Getting the special batteries has helped functionality. It's still heavy as all getout.
  11. Back to the topic at hand... If this is the definition they are going to stick with then some of us may consider this a win. With their use of recoil being an integral part of their equation those who have cranks mounted on their weapons would seemingly be ok for now?
  12. I shot a HDD some year ago with a .45acp. It made one heck of a dent but did not go through.
  13. Bass Pro used to carry real BP, not sure if they do now. Was a bit pricey but most shops don't carry due to storage regulations
  14. Dont forget national 55 mph speed limit and the Jimmy Carter mandated speedometers on all cars that had a maximum speed shown of 85mph. That'll make everyone go slower.
  15. If you like turkey shoots there will be one in Lebanon over the next few Saturdays. Times are 8am to around noon. Any shotgun any choke. Max barrel is 36 inches. $5/ shot prizes include turkeys, country Hams, and 5lb. packs of thick sliced bacon plus a few money rounds. Located at the Wilson County fairgrounds. BHP

Nice. I've always got my eye out for one of those
  17. I bought 26 acres just outside of town for this very purpose. It's hilly. I've a 30 yard range out the basement door with a plate rack and a good berm. 150 yard range down the hill and a place for a Hickock45 type setup in a ravine. 15 years ago this was possible, not anymore unless you go way farther out. No neighbors have complained yet. I do try to only shoot during the day. I hear shooting all the time around here.
  18. that's the best I've seen in a while for brass, and free shipping!
  19. they are all looking for the best gas mileage. The best design for that is pretty much the same for everyone, so they all look pretty much the same.
  20. I gave mine a check out for IWB on Saturday just to see how it might go. Definitely a lot heavier than I'm used to and really needed to synch up the belt to get it hanging in there. Maybe a shoulder rig?
  21. I heard several months ago the owners of the gun store down on Mt. Juliet Rd near Old Lebanon Dirt road were going to be opening it back up once improvements were to be made.
  22. Yes, we finally have 4 fighting over our feeder. Maybe as the summer winds on more will come.
