  1. [emoji106]thanks. I just read about it. I'll have to rent it soon. Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk
  2. I saw him yesterday on a Law and Order re-run. A very serious role and he was excellent in it. It was a side of him I had not ever seen. Very talented and intelligent man. RIP. Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk
  3. Prayers for you Hipower and all those in the danger zone. Guess I'm a bit late, but prayers sent anyway. Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk
  4. I had to look that up to make sure what it was. I saw some people doing that about 20 years ago and wanted to do it bad. That is until I saw the price to get geared up and actually flying. Looking back, I wish now I had. It's way out of my budget now though. Good luck though.
  5. Yep. Not for long hopefully. https://www.kallanishenergy.com/2017/08/31/colonial-pipeline-shuts-down-line-1-and-2/
  6. I'd never heard of the Oath Keepers until I saw this and did a quick search. They have a facebook page and a YouTube channel, I did see that, but the words Far-Right, Militia, Anti government, etc... are words repeated by most definitions in a Google search. Also, none of the articles mentioned Oath Keepers, only a group called Cajun Navy. I agree we don't want to be on those lists for sure!
  7. Yep. Just a fraction below the "I'm cutting back on my driving" threshold.
  8. Dang, that's ugly! I am very careful where I buy my diesel for sure. I try to get it at truck stops when I can. I have a 2001 dodge and it's this new super low sulfur fuel ain't good for that engine. I use a lubricating additive, usually Diesel Kleen. and Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment in every tank. Of course it wouldn't save an engine with bad enough fuel in the tank.
  9. AS doesn't have much in the line of reloading for sure. They are really geared up for hunting, fishing and such though. I buy a lot of stuff from there. Even their Magellan brand of shoes and clothes are very good for the price you pay.
  10. Here's a little info: http://www.4-traders.com/WTI-2355639/news/Several-Houston-Area-Refineries-Shut-Down-as-Harvey-Dumps-More-Rain-25013519/
  11. It's only up about 5 cents so far. Except diesel is up 15 cents at the Walmart Market about a block from my house. Everybody else only about 7 cents. Which is why I don't buy diesel from that Walmart. That suck. Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk
  12. Very nice. I love shooting 22's. I have 5 rifles and 1 buckmark.
  13. True and prices seemed to be the same at all of them, but the new owners had stated they wanted to compete with Academy Sports and AS is my go to store. I was hoping to see what the new owners would do with it, but won't get the chance now. I agree competition is always a good thing for consumers.
  14. Early on in the liquidation I talked to a few of the manager type employees. They all said they had been told the store would open and had plans to compete with Academy Sports in product quality and price. These same employees said they had been told they would be retained as employees. Now, the store has been listed as one chosen not to be pursued and would be cut from the list. Only 57 stores will open back up. The only one in Tennessee is in Jackson.
  15. I shoot a Yildiz 20 Gauge Over-and-Under Shotgun, the same one I shoot skeet with. I usually have to hunt the TWRA fields since I don't know anyone that owns any dove fields and I try to go with someone that likes to eat them or give them away. I'm not to crazy about dove.
  16. Prayers sent for you and Kasey, Doug. Dogs can be the most comforting friends we can have.
  17. This will be August 21st. The approximate time is on the map for each area.
  18. I've been wanting a semi-auto 12ga that uses magazines and found this the other day. I've read a bit about them and see pros and cons. It's a turkish made shotgun. I have found it as low as the mid $400 range and if it's a decent firearm, that may be a good price. Anyone know anything about these: Akdal MKA 1919 Match Semi-Auto 12 Gauge Shotgun, 19.7" Barrel, 5 Rounds
  19. I understand the training to interact with armed citizens I don't feel that's the same thing I meant. I was referring to the need to add training on how to interact with legally armed citizens. Reciprocate the training given to legally armed citizens. Give both sides the same training so everyone knows what to do and expect. I'd bet, if you could find it, the odds of being shot drop like a rock as to how many times an LEO is shot by a legally armed citizen. That fact should calm down a nervous cop because he knows now, he's very likely not in danger instead of the other way around. As far as the Castille case. I don't know what happened. I did read it was stated that the LEO asked him for his ID and that was what he was reaching for. I do agree that if Castille was told to at some point to stop and raise his hands, that's what he should have done. Again, I don't know what happened. I still think proper and calm communication on both sides would go a long way.
  20. I think that training should go both ways. In recent shootings, very nervous LEO's have been involved.
  21. When the grid goes everything goes. fuel for cars and generators, natural gas, lights, water, food, sewer, medicine. It will be bad. The lack of air conditioning will kill a lot if it happens in summer with all this global warming happening ya know....
  22. I was an electrician for 38 years and an electrical planner for the last 5. Now retired and spend as much of my time fishing for crappie - bass - trout, hunting, riding my 4 wheeler on 2 hunting leases as I possibly can.
  23. Good points Garufa. The Feds seem to take everything they do to the extreme.
  24. And how, my friends, is that not a database of firearm sales?
