Baltimore Bridge Collapse

I saw Buttgig in a news conference say they will likely have to seek funding from Congress (aka taxpayer dollars) to replace the bridge.  I call BS on that, they can use some of that $1.2 trillion they just got a couple of years ago:

"The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), aka Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, 2021. The law authorizes $1.2 trillion for transportation and infrastructure spending with $550 billion of that figure going toward "new" investments and programs."

Might be time to rethink all the Trillions we owe and the Billions we send out of this country every year! There's a limit. or should be, on how much we finance the rest of the world! It's long past time the United States should cut back on being the "sugar daddy" for the world!

I predict our tax dollars will fund the rebuild and construction will be complete before we get one red cent out of ship owner or their insurance.

Safe bet

If this exact same thing happened in another country the US couldn’t wait to get over there and rebuild it for them free of charge. Where is our help. Seems to be a one way street

Wasn’t President Biden going to build more ports when he first took office? Tennessee has been working on widening a highway near where I live for 24 years and all that has been done is a few houses tore down. I can’t imagine how long it would take to build a port.
