Smoke and mirrors....this opens the door for the tax to be adjusted for inflation and these items to be priced out of what most can afford when the dems/rinos get control again.

That's one of my fears. Once in effect, it may be hard to find any suppressors and then it really sets the precedent for the pendulum to swing heavily in the direction of adjusting for inflation.

According to a CPI calculator, $200.00 in 1934 is $4,870.68 today. So...fun if it goes that direction.

There is the argument that if the tax is $0.00 then the reason for having the registry is null. I...don't know. Would be neat to see these items stripped from the registry via that method.

Be patient.  Some smart lawyer will sue the Gubt about a tax that has been moved to zero.  That means no tax.  That means no need to keep a record of who paid the " zero " tax...

Don’t go running out to your LGS to buy a suppressor unless  you want to go NFA and pay the tax.  It was removed from “the act”.

I got a E-Mail from Rainier Arms that said that the NFA did pass-

Still in the NFA but the tax portion was removed-

So no more tax on short barrel rifles-suppressors-

    (a) Transfer Tax.--Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows:

    (c) Conforming Amendment.--Section 4182(a) is amended by adding at
the end the following: ``For purposes of the preceding sentence, any
firearm described in section 5811(a)(2) shall be deemed to be a firearm
on which the tax provided by section 5811 has been paid.''
    (d) Effective Date.--The amendments made by this section shall
apply to calendar quarters beginning more than 90 days after the date
of the enactment of this Act.

I think this was in the version that the Senate sent to the House for vote. If the bill changed at all, it would have to go back to the Senate for another vote.

That’s real nice they told you that.  It’s also wrong.

What are you basing this on?

It's almost like...a bill so big that you have to pass it to see what is in it isn't a good idea.

The tax on SBRs and suppressors will be reduced from $200 to $0, once sign by Trump and the effective date for the legislation arrives. However all the paperwork, fingerprinting, and wait while The ATF, does their thing, still remains in effect. That could take as long as 3 weeks or 18 months.

And I’m hearing DOGE and the ATF are about to announce changes in the way they are doing things at ATF. That could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Personally, I’d wait and see if the lawsuits filed by GOA, NRA, and other 2A alphabet groups are successful in fracturing the NFA before I would buy anything.

I called Blackburns DC office today. They sat in silence then hung up on me. Called back and another clown answered and requested I email them.

Blackburn is another RINO douche. I'll never vote for her again.

It also says it's $200 to make a machinegun. That's interesting.

Did the sneaky bastards change the language?  I searched the final bill earlier today and found nothing about suppressors as was in the bill first passed and sent to the senate.

They didn’t reduce the tax on fully automatic weapons. Just suppressors and SBRs.

It says $200 "to make a machinegun". We haven't been able to do that since 1986. Only someone with a manufacturer license.
