Recommended Posts

IT IS OFFICIAL..WE JUST RECEIVED NOTICE FROM GOOGLE...THEY WILL NO LONGER ALLOW GOOGLE SHOPPING (PRODUCT SEARCH) TO CONTAIN GUNS, WEAPONS OF ANY TYPE OR ANY RELATED PRODUCTS.

GOOGLE POLICY CHANGE NOTICE:(PER GOOGLE)

Based on a review of the products you're currently submitting, it appears that some of the content in your Merchant Center account, D and T ARMS, will be affected by these policy changes. In particular we found that your products may violate the following policies:

Weapons

When we make this change, Google will disapprove all of the products identified as being in violation of policies. We ask that you make any necessary changes to your feeds and/or site to comply, so that your products can continue to appear on Google Shopping.

Weapons

As highlighted on our new policy page, in order to comply with the Google Shopping policies you need to comply first with the AdWords policies. We do not allow the promotion or sale of weapons and any related products such as ammunitions or accessory kits on Google Shopping. In order to comply with our new policies, please remove any weapon-related products from your data feed and then re-submit your feed in the Merchant Center.

So basically.... Google is not allowing any business that sells anything dealing with firearms, ammo, knives, reloading supplies, etc.on Google shopping or to advertise on Google.

just another case of someone in california thinking the way things are out there is the way everyone else wants them to be in their part of the country. this is going to cost them a massive amount of money

Disgusting. This is one reason I stopped using Google years ago. I don't need some nanny internet search engine determining what I can or can't query. There are many other search engines out there that don't censor results and they are just as good as Google. I've tried to no avail for several years now to warn users about Google. They have an agenda that does not square with mine.

I just checked and did get a result on Google for Guns International and some Ruger 44 Magnum pistols for sale. They must not have gotten to all sellers, yet.

I've never used Google "shopping" until I tried it just a few moments ago; can't get anything to show up using words like "Firearms" or "able ammo" but just using the standard search function returns results.

Do they think that if someone can't find it through the "shopping" tab people stop looking??? :)

Anyway; this is more than sufficient reason to stop using Google anyway.

Shopping tab shows fairly representative spread of the item for sale, normal search does not. It's a pretty big difference and will sure make a diff as to how folks search for firearms prices to compare. For me for sure, I used it a lot for guns and knives and related.

Now I have to switch from Google Android phone to an Iphone.

Few viable options. Apple corporate is equally commie but higher-priced and less open-source codebase.

That's ridiculous. I suppose they're going to remove all the porn, gangsta rap, and giant sugary drinks as well?

Why would they do that? Liberals don't mind it. Who do you think Google is? They are like Progressive Insurance.

Huge liberal donors to the Obama campaign.
