IRS Raids Haslam Empire

That's just a little pressure from the administration to Haslam to make him veto a few bills and

force him to set up those pools for Obamacare. I'll bet we see a bunch more of it happening.

I'll bet it is pure Barbara Streisand.

From my friend who works there. "Basically I was working, saw 15 black cars pull in and 50 FBI agents in bullet proof vests surrounded the building and herded us into a room. Then they questioned each of us individually, confiscated our computers, then made us go home".

She said they apparently brought a U-Haul in to carry everything off.

Just like Gibson Guitars, and a few hundred others.

Talk about taking the wind out of a presidential bid before it even starts...

Yep.  Just the sight of the IRS or FBI carrying truck loads of computers and files out of your mansion will stick in the minds of voters.

I knew gas stations were a dangerous place! Do you think they really needed 50 agents in body armor for a tax raid?

They're busted and fined for price gouging. Think they fines went to Georgia and Mississippi.

I think if you'll check closer, those were individual franchise owners that got busted, and Pilot agreed to reimburse customers, but didn't have to -- and the managers actually paid the fines.

Basic point being, it was only a few stations, and simply a much too penny-ante a deal for corporate to have had anything to do with.

Would be like me pulling shenanigans that would risk bad press and possible civil and/or criminal penalties to screw you out of 5 bucks.

Yeah, I don't know any inside information. I'm just going by what I read via the various news outlets. They very well could have agreed to pay the fines just to settle and move on.

It's called intimidation. The cowards way of doing the country's business.
