Citizens Arrest and George Kennedy

Recommended Posts

I am sad and amazed that there is no thread that Don Knotts passed as well as George Kennedy.

Knotts was an amazing comedian.  His roles are not overlooked.

George Kennedy is one of my all time fav's.

RIP

Senility means meeting new people everyday as well as learning people died a second time apparently.  I can believe I forgot he died, oh well.

I know I saw a Newser story yesterday about it though, can't find it now.  oh well

When I think of Kennedy I see him flying off the running board in Dirty Dozen too.

Yea, many of them die more than once; and some over and over but are still here.http://www.rd.com/culture/celebrity-death-hoaxes/

Monkey laughed last night when we were in bed about the D.K. thing. He said he must've had a glass of something good! ;-)

When I think of George Kennedy I think of Cool Hand Luke and the Naked Gun series, primarily.  He was a great and versatile actor.

I thought I remembered that Don Knotts had passed years ago but upon seeing the OP wasn't sure.  I have to admit (wait, let me duck behind a wall before I say this) that I am pretty sick and tired of the Andy Griffith Show.  Every time I see it advertised, etc. my reaction is, "Geez, let it go, already."  Still, Knotts brought a lot of joy to a lot of people.  He was really good on Three's Company but my favorite roles of his were when he and Tim Conway appeared alongside each other.  When I was a kid, I tried not to miss The Apple Dumpling Gang whenever it was on and mostly that was because of Conway and Knotts.  Their movie The Private Eyes from the early 1980s was/is a lot of fun, too.

Amazing...we gone from lamenting George Kennedy to praising Don Knotts. lol

Nothing wrong with it, both were fantastic actors and had a presence that will be missed.

Todays's actors, and I use the term very loosely, cannot hold a candle for these gentlemen.

The Private Eyes was one of my favorites as a kid. Lookout for the wookalar!!!!!

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken was also funny, as was The Shakiest Gun in the West.

As for George Kennedy, I always think of The Naked Gun movies, especially the scene in TNG 2 1/2 during the sex shop scene where he picks up a chainsaw-powered device. The look on his face is too funny!

Don Knotts was great. The shakiest gun in the west, the incredible mister Limpet, the ghost and mister chicken. Of course threes company too.

Damnit, I'm getting drunk and youtubing movies that were old when I was new tonight.

My wife was all upset about Don Knotts as she had read a story where he had died. I told her he died 10 years ago. She said she loved him so much she could cry twice. Works for me.

If it was not for all of the Green Screen technology in Hollywood most all of the actors would be nobodies. Technology does what real live stunt men/women did back when real movies were made. As far as directors go Clint Eastwood still does a lot with real stunt people in his movies.................JMHO
