All right, I'll admit I'm cheap. But I get sick and tired for paying $5 and $6 for a Silicone cotton / flannel gun wipe cloth. I go through these things pretty quick. It doesn't take long before they wear, then they transfer a lot of lint on to your gun. Especially on any matte finished surfaces. So I went to a fabric store and bought 2 yards of cotton flannel quilting fabric for just $2.49 @ yard. (I bought natural color. But you can get it in any color you like). I took a pair of pinking shears and cut it into 18" square sheets. I then spray them with silicone, (or you can use your favorite gun oil or rust preventive), fold them up and put them into 6" heavy duty zip lock storage bags. You'll end up with over 20 of them for what you will pay for one from Hoppe's or Outers. And they are of better quality. You can keep several of them at home, in your range bag, on your reloading bench, or even in the pockets of your gun cases. Then you will never be without a way to wipe down your gun. And you won't be ripped off over paying for those crappy one's they sell at the gun shop. https://www.joann.com/cozy-flannel-fabric/prd39349.html#prefn1=ecommercetype2&prefn2=refinementColor&prefv1=Snuggle%20Flannel%7CCozy%20Flannel&prefv2=Whites&icn=hpz1ba&ici=cozy-flannel&start=1 https://www.walmart.com/ip/6-x-6-4-Mil-Heavy-Duty-Plastic-Reclosable-Zipper-Bags/1073970767 points

Not my best effort, but I haven't had time to hunt much this year. I finally got to go, and have time to make some jerky and summer sausage. This is the only deer I saw this morning. Would have preferred to got a doe, but you take what you can get sometimes. Let's see some more deer pics. I know you guys have bagged some.3 points

https://www.foxnews.com/us/gun-purchasers-may-need-to-submit-social-media-history-under-proposed-new-york-legislation Published November 22, 2018 Fox News Those looking to buy a gun in New York may need to submit their social media profiles and search history prior to purchase if new firearm legislation in the state becomes law. Under the legislation drafted by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and State Senator Kevin Parker, both Democrats, up to three years’ worth of search history on social media would be able to be reviewed, ABC Action News reported. Senate Bill 9191, according to WHAM, mandates "social media and search engine reviews prior to the approval of an application or renewal of a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver; requires a person applying for a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver or a renewal of such license to consent to having his or her social media accounts and search engine history reviewed and investigated for certain posts and/or searches over a period of 1-3 years prior to the approval of such application or renewal; defines terms." Under the proposed legislation, law enforcement officials could investigate "commonly known profane slurs used or biased language used to describe race, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation; threatening health or safety of another person, or an act of terrorism." "There should be more restrictions on how guns are purchased. We should have more background checks," Paul McQuillen, director of the Buffalo chapter of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, said. "We’ve obviously seen some of the mass shooters have a social media history that should have sent red flags," he said. The bill could be troublesome to push through as critics argue it violates multiple constitutional rights. The legislation is currently in committee and no vote is scheduled.1 point

What can you see from your window? I can't see anythin' from mine Flags on the side of the highway And scripture on grocery store signs Maybe eighteen was too early Maybe thirty or forty is too Did you get your chance to make peace with the man Before He sent down his angels for you? Mamas and grand mamas love you 'Cause that's all they know how to do You never planned on the bombs in the sand Or sleepin' in your dress blues Your wife said this all would be funny When you got back home in a week Turn twenty two and we'd celebrate you In a bar or a tent by the creek Your baby would just about be here And your very last tour would be up But you won't be back, they're all dressin' in black Drinkin' sweet tea in Styrofoam cups Mamas and grand mamas love you American boys hate to lose You never planned on the bombs in the sand Or sleepin' in your dress blues The high school gymnasium's ready Full of flowers and old Legionnaires Nobody showed up to protest Just sniffle and stare There's red, white and blue in the rafters And there's silent old men from the Corps What did they say when they shipped you away To fight somebody's Hollywood war? Nobody here could forget you You showed us what we had to lose You never planned on the bombs in the sand Or sleepin' in your dress blues You never planned on the bombs in the sand Or sleepin' in your dress blues1 point

I just got off the phone with Logan and is still pumped about it because he said this one is for Grandpaw so I will have deer meat in the freezer pretty soon. It is a really big deer and an 8 point is something to be proud of but he has 2 twelves and a 14 on the wall so don't know if this one will get mounted yet. Probably not. My son seldom puts anything under 10 up unless it is a non-typical rack. The 14 was Logans 1st deer when he was either 8 or 9 and I need to make a correction to original post. Logan is 12 years old. Had a birthday slip past me.1 point

Nice buck; that sure seems like some dark coloration. Is that just the pic, or is that the norm in that area?1 point

Thanks Greg and I try to be. Yea He was not telling the whole truth but I sent it back and got my refund and told them how I felt about their not being totally honest up front. As far as anyone depending on my income that would be Darby and she will be cared for very well if anything happens to me. I have 3 different friends and two family members that have already told me they will take her and care for her and they are all dog lovers. She has been around all of them and it won't be like she would be going to strangers. Every time they come to visit or we go visit them they mess with her and she loves the attention.1 point

You're a good and thoughtful man, Doug. Ol" Alex Trebek was trying to rip you off. If no one depends on your income, life insurance is really a product you don't need. If someone does depend on your income, you should have at least 10 times your annual income in term life insurance. The length of term life you'll need depends on how many years these folks will be dependent on that income were you to die. It is very inexpensive. More so the younger and healthier you are when you purchase it. In short, if you died today, how are the wife and kids gonna eat? If you can't readily answer that, buy some now.1 point

I’m locking these threads that just straight up copy content from another site. Both for copyright reasons, and that they’re not adding any value to the conversation. Feel free to start a thread linking an article if you want - but add some original thought.1 point

A buddy of mine has done that for a while and does pretty decent. He always has good tales to tell. If you're driving in Nashville don't forget to collect your bonus when dropping people off at the strip clubs. $12 a head.0 points

Yes several episodes where they had some kind of "manhunt" going on they would take long guns and the episode where they were supposed to have a gold shipment in an armored car Barney had a Thompson SMG. I assume there was more than 1 bullet in it....0 points
