  1. I refuse to let violent murderers change how I act and where I go. I also refuse to drag a bunch of stuff around with me in case something happens. If that causes my death; so be it. Granted, the world is a dangerous place; but if you are always fearful you will miss a lot of living. But that’s just me, everyone has to do what they are ready to take responsibility for. Because you are the only one responsible for your safety.

  2. Did a little inshore fishing yesterday. We were planning on running into the gulf and looking for some big red snapper but it was just too rough. So we stayed inshore and fished for redfish. It took us a little while but wee finally found some reds. The first pic and my sons reds were 34-35 inches and probably 15-20lbs. The last two pics the reds were 45+ and over 30 lbs.

  3. Maybe it escaped from a zoo or something. It's a play on an obscure movie line. Drop shark and replace TN with Africa, anyone? Actually, a tigershark belt by Sam Andrews. A gift from Best Gun Buddy. Scratch resistant, though I'll take BGB's word for it. Incredibly supple for a gun belt as compared to the lined leather 5.11 and Goodrich & Gould I've used for years. It is as flexible as the NexBelt, but twice as thick. The holster is also an Andrew's Leather, gift as well. BGB started this gift giving with the revolver. It is a 3" SP101, tuned and bead blasted by Gemini Customs. Big Dot front with Trausch grips.

  4. I had been eyeing the Nessmuk simply because of the grip, pinecone stabilized in green resin In person, even better. Didn't know what a Nessmuk was, found this article http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/know-your-knives-the-nessmuk-knife/ Worth every bit of $100, but when GT offered a two for one, I was in. The hand selected blade is a better fit for my needs, so Best Gun Buddy will be getting the 'muk to join the GT Feather Knife.

  5. Damn shame it’s gotten to this point. Not that Hickok is the be-all, end-all of the gun community, but I agree with him. The NRA needs to straighten out and do it now. They cannot afford ANY type of internal strife, nor can gun owners.

  6. Any company I work for has the prerogative to request a cab facing camera, I can choose to comply or quit. I’m not too far from you in that if the cops don’t want to wear bodycams they absolutely should quit. As their employer (at least they claim to work fork for the people, I have doubts about that), I want them to wear them because no, I don’t trust them to be honest. If they don’t like it, I don’t care. Just like the companies that require cab cameras don’t really care if I like it or not. We both have choices to make and both have to live with the consequences. Out of curiosity, what do you think about the departments that have added officers to lists of non-trusted for warrants and affidavits because of their social media posts documented by the Plain View Project?

  7. Embrace your inner Bernard Cromwell! The Archer's Tale Agnicourt 1356 Supposedly Benjamin Franklin said if we colonials had long bows, we could have decimated the packed ranks and battle lines of British Army.

  8. I'm sure there are a few of them that are actually loathe to go to another steakhouse on a weeknight, but feel a sense of responsibility. Woe are they, I suppose. Whateves, they aren't doing it with my dime.

  9. I always liked the LA Police Gear operator pants. I think every pair I bought has been sub-$30.

  10. It’s been 44 years since I was in the Navy and I was never a SEAL. But I have trouble believing that statement came from any SEAL. Gallagher and his rifle could be providing protection for them on an operation. Have things changed so much that a whole team would let one member put all their lives at risk?? I just don’t buy it.

  11. I mostly agree with Dave, I think it is reasonable to do a certain amount of things (such as perhaps carrying a handgun, knife, and flashlight), but I'm not about to forgo everything "with a crowd" on the off chance that it may be targeted by evil. Because I very well could spend everyday for 10 years sitting around, thinking that I was beating the odds by not going to large gatherings, and then die of a heart attack. Or I could be involved in an accident on my way home from work today.

  12. https://time.com/5610116/navy-seal-edward-gallagher-isis-murder-trial/ Apparently things have changed a lot since I was in the Navy. Messing with his rifle and firing warning shots at civilians so he couldn’t kill them?? What the heck was going on in that unit?? That doesn’t make sense either. A SEAL unit (or any other small specialized unit) can’t operate that way. This is crazy. "ill feeling from junior SEALs in his platoon who resented his leadership" you have to be kidding me. I don’t care if he executed an ISIS fighter that was not longer a threat. But if that isn’t the ROE; it looks like he will be convicted. I believe that war should be a terrible violent action that no one will want to participate in. That is really what is on trial here; just how brutal can we be.

  16. You are asking the same question that every surplus collector has asked for a century. Whats up with the outrageous SKS prices? What's up with the outrageous Mauser prices? "I remember when they were 25 bucks each in a bucket at the hardware store."

  17. I don’t go to web sites run by Alex Jones. Not many people that have an IQ higher than their age do. But I certainly don’t see how someone can be sued for publicly stating their theories; no matter how stupid they are. If I’m mistaken and we can sue people for saying ignorant stuff that never would or never could happen; are there any lawyers on the forum that want to file a case against AOC?? Her non-sense is every bit as outlandish and ignorant as anything Jones has come up with.

  18. If you are new to reloading I suggest a single stage press, reloads 1 case at a time. Have you read up on reloading? What powder and charge weight are you using in 45ACP? What is the OAL of the 223?

  19. QFT A quality weapon should be flawless right out of the box. I’ve only had to send one back for failures and it was a Shield. I had good ammo and I wasn’t going to play the “maybe it’s the magazine” game. They fixed it quickly and sent it back; no more failures. The only manufacturer I have seen that requires a break-in period is Kahr. They recommend 200 rounds. Like Mac said, to me that is for me to familiarize myself with the gun, sight it in, and be confident it is a quality product; not for me to finish their deburr and quality inspection for them. Any manufacturer can have a bad product get out; some more than others. But lets be fair. You have to have a clean gun, quality ammo, and be using it properly. If it’s a carry gun or a home defense gun; your life or the lives of your family could depend on the quality of the gun and the ammo you choose. Not a good time to be swapping mags, banging, bending, dremeling or bubbaing a gun to get it to be reliable.

  20. Zero malfunctions is normal. The reason we run a bunch of rounds through a gun is so that we have confidence in them - and our ability with them. I'd argue that once you've had the failures, you probably know all you need to know about that particular weapon. You might smooth it out and run hundreds of rounds through it flawlessly. But you'll still have that question in the back of your head. You can talk yourself into it - but why?

  21. Ilike a lot of LA Police Gear stuff. My problem with them is they dont have a lot of clothing for those of us 'ready for hibernation' (Ronald_55). Actually, I have a 34" waist. I wear IWB and I have a huge gun. Ok, maybe I slightly exaggerate about the size of the gun...and the waist. Ok maybe not so slightly. Ok, I'm hibernation ready....
