  1. Just thought I would post up a couple pics of my new knife I got and the sheath I made for it. The knife of course was made by Grand Torino, book matched Ironwood scales with copper liners and pins. I felt the knife deserved a special sheath that would hopefully match it looks, so I got to designing, and this is what I came up with... The sheath is made as more of a high ride. I used a 1 Oz copper Gadsden coin to compliment the copper in the handle along with some distressed tan ostrich leg inlay, then dyed it black to set it all off. I think it does the knife justice. Thank you Grand Torino for the beautiful knife, I hope the sheath does it justice.

  3. This is Max. We lost our Harley 5 years ago. He was 13 and the best Doberman ever. We decided it was time and brought Max home 6 weeks ago. I don’t remember Harley trying to bite or eat everything he came in contact with; but maybe it did. A new puppy is certainly keeping us on our toes.

  4. Hello, I am new to the site, and I have already found a lot of good info! A bit about me: I served in the Army at 17 y/o in Artillery for the Washington (State) National Guard (95-99). Then transferred to Active Duty Navy (99-03), I was a High Voltage Electrician in the Seabees. I have been a shooting enthusiast since I was 16 y/o, and I am recently getting into predator hunting, coyotes mostly. I am from Washington state initially, but I have lived/traveled to many places in my military service, (NY, VA, CA, SC, OK, Japan, Puerto Rico to name a few). I am happy to call TN home. I am very familiar with the AR-15 platform and WWII era firearms.

  5. The standard 590a1 holds 8+1, so the 590M with a 10 shot mag, shouldn't weigh but a little more. I think the 15 and 20 round mags are too big though. I suspect most people would go with the 10 rounders.

  6. My issue was the leak, they haven't yet got to the feeder itself. The bowl type I ordered has a built in most for ants, it gets good reviews against ants and bees, so hopefully I won't have any issues.

  7. I'll do it this evening. I don't think the forum has to be offline for very long but it's not something I'd want to start in the middle of the day.

  10. Most welcome Ehunt! My Brother in law just visited from VA (retired NG Major) where he just retired from his civi Maintenance Supervisor job at Fort Ustus. He was surprised at how many businesses give Vet discounts here in TN. Its got to be the most Vet friendly state in the US. All the more to Love & Respect the Locals who have preserved this wonderful place.

  11. The Triple Crown is the largest Rimfire Benchrest shoot in the country each year. It is 6 days of different shoots with Sat/Sun being what we call the Triple Crown. The reason it is called that is there are 3 main sanctioning bodies in Rimfire BR and we shoot 3 of each target over those two days to crown an overall winner. We will have around 120 shooters this year. The other shoots that week are the official state shoots and the Professional Shooting League qualifier on Friday. It is held at the Rimfire Range at Kettlefoot in Bristol. If anyone is in that vicinity and would like to come out and check it out, please do. We will have the top shooters in the country as well as some shooters from the UK, Ireland, and maybe Australia. If anyone is really into BR, there are few spots left. I suspect if you are into BR you already know about it, but it is a cool experience to see even if you aren't into BR and just want to visit. If someone decides to go, ask for Jamie. Most should know me. Would be glad to meet some other TGO'rs.

  12. The Tavor is fully capable of shoot 400-600 yards... I'd scope it. There are several good all-around scopes with 2.5-10 or 3-12 magnification that would work well at any range from point blank to 600 yards. Save your money for the Aimpoint, it will pay for itself before you know it. The cheap sights will just suck money out of your wallet and drive you crazy, and you'll just end up paying for the better sight down the road. If I had what I wasted on cheap red dots when I first started looking at them, I have a couple more Aimpoints now. I've been running M2's/ML2's on both my AR's and Tavor (and a couple of others) since they were the "new" model, and they are still going strong now for around 12 years of pretty steady use and abuse. They are like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep on going and going...... The Aimpoints also won't break the bank feeding their battery habit. Mine is pretty much "old school" now, and I leave them on 24/7/365 and change the batteries once a year. The new ones I believe, are up to about 9 years on a battery. Also, don't get caught up on one or the other. Get both. With lever mounts, you can have either at a flip of a lever or two and swap them at will, with no loss of zero. I have one AR that usually wears a Leupold 1.5x5 https://thetacticalscopes.com/best-optic-for-tavor/ on an old ARMS lever mount, and a backup, pre zeroed Aimpoint on an ARMS M68 mount. Best of both worlds. There are a lot of useful videos on this topic on Youtube, I will leave here one of them, I hope someone will come in handy. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiM5uLQUOwk

  13. We planted our garden this weekend... TWICE We had bought some veggie plants from Home Depot a week ago, and they really needed to be planted, so I got motivated. I had tilled a week or two ago, and our free-ranging chickens loved scratching around in the freshly turned dirt. The wife and I were concerned about them messing up the plants, or digging up seeds, so we added a layer of plastic fence netting to the existing electric fence. They are usually unaffected by the electric fence, as I think their feathers must be a good insulator. Anyway, we got the garden all set up and everything planted, and went out to dinner. Later that evening we got home and I went up to the barn, and glanced over at the garden. Every single plant we planted was pulled up and thrown aside! I was dumbfounded and thought someone was playing a mean joke on me. I guess a chicken had gotten in under the fence somehow and just went to town. So, there we were, just after dusk, replanting our whole garden. Needless to say, our chickens are no longer free-ranging.

  14. It's RINO scum like Governor Mary Failing and Governor Rick Snott that inspired me to leave the Republican party and not look back. In my opinion, the Libertarian party is truly the only real pro-gun party in America. Many people are seriously deceived to think the Republican party was a historically pro-gun party. In fact, the Republican party was staunchly anti-gun and politicians like Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Rudolph Giuliani were some of the most vehemently anti-gun politicians in the history of our country. In fact, we can thank people like Reagan and Bush for helping push our first "Assault Weapon Ban". The fact that the Republican party magically became pro-gun after the Clinton era was more about opportunity to gain votes rather than a deep inherent moral belief in the 2nd Amendment. So, once these Republicans got your votes secured and have a strong grip on their political office than their true colors come to the surface and they will push their agenda of increasing the power of the bureaucracy, which so many Republicans and almost all Democrats support. There are many so-called Tea Party Republicans who support Extreme Risk Protection Orders at the federal level. So much for the 2nd Amendment, as ERPOs basically make the 2nd Amendment null and void. Many Americans are pretty much brainwashed sheep who don't believe they can support any other party and must keep voting for the same liars with all their bold promises and smooth political discourse, only to be disappointed again and again. Until people are ready to become a bit more open-minded, make some sacrifices and fight the status quo of the two-party bureaucracy, we will keep having more and more of our rights compromised and removed. The Democrats are pretty straightforward with their anti-gun/anti-freedom agenda, which actually makes them seem like less of a threat to me than the Republicans who pretend to support our rights and freedoms. After these Republicans gain our trust, they rip all those freedoms they swore to protect away from us under our feet. I am not stupid to think that in an election that I must only vote for the Libertarian candidate. So, my next best advice is to stop looking at the party names that so many of these lying, crooked, double-talking politicians like Rick Snott, Mary Failing and the rest of them have next to their name. Instead, look at their voting track record, the causes they support, how genuine of a person they are and political alliances. If they were staunchly anti-gun and then just a couple years before the election suddenly believe in the 2nd Amendment like a patriot, you may want to think deeply if they will still be so freedom loving and pro-gun once the marbles are all in their hand. I will say that gun rights come before almost all others for me, as the freedom of speech and religion are essentially tied together with the 2nd Amendment. My feelings are that only a small minority of Republican politicians are worthy of my vote. Although, staunchly pro-gun Blue Dog Democrats like Conor Lamb would get my vote over RINO scum like Mary Fallin or Rick Scott any day of the week if the election was between these two candidates. Like I said, we need to stop looking at the party names and start looking at the individual politicians. THe more aligned a politician is to America's One and Only Constitutionally sound party, the Libertarian party, the more likely we can be assured that this person will defend our freedoms and liberties. As of now, I think Rand Paul is one of the few Republicans I could even support anymore, although maybe there is a few others who I think won't turn on us, but it seems more and more of these so-called pro-gun politicians are turning on their voters once the pressure is applied and other factors like screaming liberal soccer moms and state finances (Constitutional Carry would have cost the Republicans in OK a lot of revenue, e.g.) are put into play.
