  1. Decided to camo my el cheapo Savage 320 today..Spent $10 for paint...I could not find any rubber bands at wallyworld, so I just wrapped it in paracord, then used some foliage from around the land for the camo effect...I think it turned out pretty decent for my first time doing a camo job..

  2. Do you need a special ribbon for that? What about correction tape? Want to make sure I get it right the first time.

  3. It’s true alright. He beat out several other established politicians in the primary back in May, barely. He had 23 more votes than the runner-up. He’s a Libertarian through and through. If he does nothing more than maintain the status quo of the Burchett administration I’ll be happy with that.

  4. I bought a Solo Stove Campfire model a couple of years ago. I carry it in our camper with a pail of scrap wood cut small from under the table saw and supplement with sticks and such as available. It replaced a home made small portable camp fire thingy that I used for years. Bought the Solo primarily because of the smokeless gasifier feature. As it warms up and the smoke goes away it is like magic. I carry small, roughly 1" square fireplace starters, I light it and toss it in and as it catches I dump in the scrap wood. Don't use it a lot but I do like it and highly recommend. A friend has their biggest one for camping and home use. We just use ours for a small camp fire when we are sitting around not cooking. The picture was when we first got it and wanted to try it out on the porch, Could have gotten by with a pie pan upside down for heat protection.

  5. All clear now.....that was deep for a simple mind like mine.

  6. Recently, I have been in contact with Eric from the Solo Stove company. I have been attempting to setup a "group buy" for us. As such, he sent me one of their stoves for photos and review. Solo Stove makes a variety of wood stoves, from small backpacking models such as the "Lite" all the way to the largest "Bonfire" model. My sample was a "Lite", and that's what I'm reviewing today. Even though it's a "backpacking stove", I was quite surprised when I received the box. It indeed was small, and very, very light! They include a pouch to hold everything together and to keep it away from other gear in your pack. Assembled! If you count removing the center section, flipping it around, and inserting it into the top railing of the bottom piece. It goes together incredibly quickly and then stores back within itself for storage. I was excited, so I tried it on a wet day. Most of you probably know how much rain we've been getting recently. Smoke. That means it isn't hot enough. Yet. Honestly, it was a bit difficult to get going good since everything was so wet. I cheated by adding some dry paper towels. If I had dry tinder or took a bit longer to shave some smaller pieces, I could have done so without the paper towels. Cast Iron. It's for winners. A modest single serving of butter. The finished product? A tasty fried egg. So, overall, I love this stove. I haven't yet tried it again, but it is seemingly all stainless steel and very well made. With dry tinder, I'm sure it will be set ablaze quickly and easily. The design is somewhat similar to a "Green Egg" grill, it allows airflow from the bottom (those round holes seen in the above photo) to fuel the fire and then the heat pulls everything upward. The size is perfect for 1-2 people. Of course they make a pot (I think the 900 size) that holds the Solo Stove Lite perfectly. Admittedly, the cast iron skillet I used was too big and heavy. It worked, but it would have been easy to tip the thing over if you weren't extremely careful. Also, of course the cast iron took a very long time to heat. A stainless or titanium skillet would have heated in no time once I got the fire going. Overall, I think this product is wonderful for what it is. I'm still working with Eric in an attempt to get us at TGO a "group buy" discount code. Hopefully I can update this post soon.

  7. Your certification might be at stake if you don’t consider one...or is it more manly to pay far more than needed for something fully functional, yet seldom used?

  8. I think it started with Carry Guard, but the linked PDF is pretty straight forward IMO in telling NY companies to cut ties with the NRA and other Gun related business/organization.

  9. The NRA may have a case here...partly. I doubt they have a case in proving they have a right that NY State is interfering with regarding Carry Guard, or other optional items that would be defined as a perk or service, but not part of their core mission that gives them non-profit status. Where they do have a case (and I think a decent one) is in trying to show how NY State is blocking their ability to receive financial services essential to operate from banks and insurance companies, a reasonable point to be made that so many are based in , and do business in NY State, and that NY State is denying them essential support services for their protected speech needed as part of their core mission by pressuring those businesses into compliance. The stick in this case being a loss of their ability to operate in NY State, which isn't an option for companies like that. Big legal hurdle for the NRA to prove, but not impossible if you get enough company reps under oath to testify. Also, this may seem a soft spoken letter, and there is no specified threat, but in NY State politics, it's easy enough to riddle the meaning behind the cordial tone in this letter from the state's Department of Financial Services. Still, as the plaintiff, it's on the NRA to establish malice, and the politicians in NY State have decades of experience at how to skirt the edges of the law without going over the cliff. https://www.dfs.ny.gov/legal/dfs/DFS_Guidance_Risk_Management_NRA_Gun_Manufacturers-Insurance.pdf I'm a bit skeptical about their financial claims because it's the NRA and they always try to make it seem like they need money now to beat back the anti-gun machine. Making those claims seems a mistake, as it opens the full scope of their books up for discovery, not just their publicly disclosable requirements. This lawsuit may give NY State license to take a lice comb to their financial records. Finally, whoever wrote the motion must also be with the ILA. The snarky language would have been best left out of a legal document like this, it does no good, and could dilute the message of law and fact they're trying to establish.

  12. The politician is every bit as scared of a single bullet as they are an army. John Wilkes Booth used a percussion .44 caliber Philadelphia Derringer. That said, most believe he fired a .41 caliber ball out of the pistol. McKinley was show twice with a .32 caliber Iver Johnson revolver. A Browning Model 1910 in .380 kicked off WWI when an assassin used it to kill Archduke Ferdinand. Practically a pocket pistol. Reagan was shot with a pot metal framed Rohm RG-14 in .22LR. This isn't about the guns. It's about checking power.

  14. Well, to be Era Correct..., it should be a Browning Hi-Power to go along with a FAL. Not that I'm trying to get this topic off-track!

  15. Tanker bought a Tisa. Didn't like it. Posted a bunch of stuff. Got banned later for some other stuff (unrelated). Now every time the date equals Pi x (the previous days stock market gains) divided by @TGO David's post count, someone comes and resurrects this thread. If it were possible I would mark it on my calendar, but it is an unexpected event:) I hope it never gets locked. I hope it lasts forever.
