  1. Are you Ray Charles? People have shot their own family members in the dark.
  2. I would say that it would put you at a disadvantage. It takes about 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark. You would know your way around but not see including the intruder.
  3. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
  4. I worked/ran armed security in a bar district of Kansas City called Westport. There were 16 full-sized bars in 3 square city blocks that I covered from the outside. The police didn't come down there unless they were called, so that made me the local law enforcement. I made more felony and misdemeanor arrests in my 2 years there than I did my entire 6.5 years in law enforcement. I also had to use force on numerous occasions whereas I never had to do the same as a cop. My experience there made me never care to step foot into a bar.
  5. Paint is never going to be better than an Ameriglow sight, IMHO.
  6. I've pretty much have lived in the suburbs all of my life. I've always desired to live in the country on enough property to do whatever that I wanted. 5.2 acres isn't much, and Rutherford County seems to like to stick to all of their residents, (like a $100 building permit to put a prefabricated shed that's bigger than 120 sqft), but living out here makes me happy.
  7. Yes, I don't live too far from you on 5.2 acres.
  8. I get greater throughput than typical DSL. The problem is when it rains hard or we have a low overcast the throughput drops dramatically. If it goes out like it did a couple of weeks ago then I have to drive an hour into the office.
  9. Unfortunately, I still require a descent Internet connection to do my work. I'm far enough away from the nearest cell tower that I must have two directional antennae mounted on my roof to get a halfway descent signal.
  10. I'm sitting in my home office on the 2nd floor and watching three big does cross the rather large front yard of my neighbor across the street. They stopped at the tree line and looked back, so I scanned the left tree line with my binoculars to see a good sized buck with not all that many points on it. I think it was 6. He was pretty indecisive as to whether or not he wanted to cross that open yard to follow the does. Eventually, he turned and went back into the woods. I see lots of does around my house but never a buck. Now I see why. I'm not a hunter although I don't fault those that do. I appreciate the beauty of the animals that I see out here pretty regularly. I'm so glad that we moved out of Lavergne and into the county.
  11. I have no problems reloading them. I've always thought, what's the point of the .40? It was designed for women and effeminate men.
  12. I prefer the extra 150 fps. The 9mm may reach the kill zone but the extra umph of the .357 Sig ensures it, IMHO. EDIT: I also don't really notice the difference in recoil in a semi-auto. But I'm a big fella with big hands so that may make a difference.
  13. The last full size handgun that I bought was a P320 9mm re-tubed to .357 Sig. Not that I carry it since I also have a P320 Carry in .357 Sig.
  14. You stepped in what and slid how far?
  15. Seem to???
  16. The loophole is the US giving these foreign students full rights to purchase a gun as if they are foreign diplomats.
  17. I've experienced that too. I have XXXL hands and have just chalked it up to the fact that no factory handgun is going to "fit" my hand. I haven't tried the polishing for fear of decreasing resale value should I ever want to sell it. My 20 is just for fun so it is likely the first to go should I need/want to downsize. It's just odd that only Glocks do that to my finger.
  18. Personally, I think that both prosecutorial and judicial misconduct should be felonies.
  19. Look at the bright side: With the extra $$ from weed taxation perhaps the non-toker's taxes will go down.
  20. $470 buys an awful lot of ammo.
  21. I had a 1911 made in 1945 that was previously owned by a fellow who's trigger finger was cut off at the first knuckle. I don't know how he did it but he had that gun set-up to fire by simply touching the trigger. The gun was known to auto-fire a second round. Anyway, I was being stupid watching the TV while handling the gun. I thought I had removed the magazine and cleared the chamber, but I must have done it in reverse order. I has holding the gun and my finger touched the side of the trigger. The gun went off! My wife, (who was sitting Indian style on the floor in front of me), grabbed at her head and screamed while falling forward. Fortunately, she was reacting to the sound and the gun wasn't pointed at her. My mother's newly upholstered couch didn't fare so well. The hollow point cut diagonally through the seat cushion and stopped in the wooden frame of the couch.
  22. Technically, you can't be charged for 1 mile over the speed limit because the machines aren't that accurate. They certify to be accurate to 1 MPH plus or minus. At least that's the way it is with RADAR.
