  1. When you've been lied to, sh!t on and treated like crap for as long as we gun owners have, you tend to distrust any stranger claiming they just wanna help. Maybe you're for real, maybe not. The point is that we don't know you. Why should we believe anything you say? Much less answer an extremely vague survey? We have a great little community here. Maybe if you had made at least a little effort to join in on the rest of the board you might have had a chance. You aren't one of us and apparently don't want to be. You just want to use us for your own ends. I don't trust that at all.
  2. There are people who make big bucks creating polls, surveys and such worded specially in a way to insure the desired outcome. I looked at your survey and found it to be extremely vague. Nothing more than loose generalities. I don't trust it at all. Norseman308: for somebody who wants to be part of our community, Why do you only have 7 posts? Two in the New Members Introductions and the others all here. Are you not interested in actually joining us and discussing any of the many various topics here or are you just here to shill your survey? David makes a good point. Who the Hell appointed you our spokesperson? I sure as Hell didn't. I don't know you from Adam. Thus far you've shown very little to instill trust from any of us.
  3. SG has good ammo at decent prices. Not great prices, but cheaper than many others. Plus they have good sales quite often. I've ordered from them several times. Just got an e-mail from them the other day. They've got a pretty good price on Australian 62 gr 5.56 right now. Good stuff that you don't see all that often. They always have some brand of 9mm on sale. But when I'm in the market for ammo, my first stop is always Ammoseek.com.
  4. The used AR market is absolutely glutted with rifles. Just pick a decent name at a price he can afford.
  5. Very nice. I'm a S&W collector myself. But I admit to not being much of a .44 magnum fan. I done got too old for all that buck and roar. For big bores, I always preferred the .44 Special and .45 Colt. i got lots of those.
  6. Open the pictures in Paint and they're easy to resize. For once I'm glad you're too far away. But I am soooooo tempted.
  7. To be able to carry in other states is the biggest reason. Living in the SW corner like I do, I venture into Miss and Ark several times a year. Both honor the enhanced permit. And if LEO should happen to check you, the enhanced permit proves that you've had at least some training. I think that would put them more at ease with you.
  8. I'm doing good to get to the kitchen and back.
  9. I'm 69 years old and my house is paid for. I ain't going nowhere. I'll die in this house.
  10. I like the T-grip and have them on several of my guns. Never got around to trying BKs, but always heard good things about them. But as age and arthritis work on my hands, I find that I'm better off with a more hand filling style of grip on my revolvers. Last I heard the guy who took over Tyler was running it as a part time business and was spotty at that. Working only when he had time and felt like it. They still take orders, but it may be many months, possibly a year before you get it. Communication is also a big problem as they don't answer phone calls or e-mails. Ordering anything now is questionable at best.
  11. Great gun and a great story. In all my years of shooting S&W revolver, I've only had to ship one home. But that was better than 20 years ago. As I remember, the experience wasn't bad. However, over on big blue, horror stories about S&W's customer service abound. Hopefully the move to Maryville has changed all that. Congratulations on a fine revolver.

I've been interested in one of those. Let us know how it shoots.
  13. Bartlett's SWAT Team officers have M-16s and MP5s. These are stored inside their Patrol cars, in a locked steel box bolted into the trunk. Further, the trunk lid will only open a couple of inches due to a steel cable with a padlock on it. So you have to go through 2 locks to access them. If I remember correctly, the weapons are removed and stored in the armory when the officers are not on duty. I should mention that our little town doesn't have a full time SWAT team. While they are highly trained, these officers work regular patrol duty until needed.
  14. The problem seems to be that nobody wants to take the lead and set something up. I'm afraid I'm not any good at such things. I wouldn't even know where to start. Is there one organized person in the Memphis area?
  15. All I can suggest is that you search the internet used parts dealers. Taking it to a gunsmith would probably cost more than the rifle is worth. I did a search for a Sears Ranger Model 25. I get semi-autos and magazine fed bolt actions, but no single shots. Post some pictures, maybe somebody can tell you exactly what you have and where you might find parts.
  16. When it comes to sex, there's market for anything you can think of, anything you can think up, your most disgusting nightmares and things you never knew the human body was capable of.
  17. Reasons I love Halloween: There's not social requirement to see relatives unless you actually want to. A fancy meal means that there's chili for the hot dogs. Costumes Candy Kids And general silliness rules the day!
  18. There's a store crossover reference in the back of the Blue Book. I find no reference to a Ranger 35. Does your rifle have an "A" after the model #. Ranger 35A? According to my book that would be a Stevens 66A. Does it have a Sears model number? Usually three digets a dot and then more digets. XXX.XXXX It may take some time and searching, but I'm sure somebody probably has a firing pin for your rifle.
  19. Way back when in my drinking days, Jack, Jim and Bud were my best friends.
  20. I don't think anybody listens to this idiot. Every time he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it up to the ankle.
