  1. I don't know why you guys act surprised, he said, and made happen, that he was going to do this. The thing to do is bombard them with emails and calls letting them know where you stand.
  2. I seem to recall something about the Nashville fairgrounds not allowing gunshows, and Metro trying to force promoters to ban private sales, so maybe it has to do with that.
  3. Just look here: https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/forum/39-firearms-classifieds/ Like this one in 300Blk (a quick barrel change if you want) If not that one, I'm sure someone has something that would strike your fancy. ARs are fun to shoot, I am sure you will like the reduced recoil while out plinking in what ever caliber you want, then if the bug bites you, you can assemble your adult legos any way you want
  4. I don't know about that, at least not in metro currently, with them losing 7.5mil in their budget and all.
  5. What stops them now? They need to discipline them from the get go and teach them that actions have consequences. As to the carry question, it will have to be on person or in one of those quick open bio safes.
  6. And Barry was well on her way to destroying the traffic data as well for her rail system. Quite a bit of traffic stories coming out of Nashville.
  7. I can get behind that, and I bet those that truly want to, will. Sure, there are those that carry that I would not want to be handling weapons around me or mine, but at the same time I would not want my kids to be totally defenseless either. If they just did away with no gun zones, BG would have to think twice about their chosen target. To me it's like placing a big "Rob me" sign in front of your home when you go on vacation, just inviting trouble.
  8. And they think LEO is too "militarized " now? Superintendent Michael Crowley with machine gunners at headquarters. They are ready for big May Day riots, 1920. (Photo by Leslie Jones)
  9. http://galleries.buffalonews.com/default.aspx?id=10078#/22 Buffalo Memories III: The Early Years and the 1950s Friday, February 23, 2018 Some of Buffalo's finest in 1930. In uniform, second from left is Buffalo Police Commissioner Austin J. Roche and at right is Arthur D. Britt, then an auto squad lieutenant and later longtime Erie County Sheriff. They are showing off newly-acquired guns that fire gas shells and illuminating star shells with parachutes.
  10. That may be true, but that protective instinct can be quite a motivator. Undoubtedly schools need more protection, and one of the quickest is to get rid of the no gun zones and put that "unknown element " into the target selection process.
  11. A layman couldn't tell if I was using a bump stock, a stick, shoestring, belt loop, or just my finger to simulate auto fire. That does not make it an auto, a technically?., sure, but news should be technical about their stories.
  12. Well, at least he didn't use the tax payers money.
  13. You have to go through an FFL to sell to out of state resident.
  14. Assault rifles are exactly what the framers of the constitution had in mind when they wrote the 2nd amendment. They have since Infringed on real assault rifles, now they are after the semi auto sporting rifles too. Somehow I don't think ANY of the politicians understand the oath they take.
  15. There must be a huge glitch, nobody is liking my posts
  16. I do believe courage is a choice, but disagree with the premise that it runs down like a tank of gas. I believe that many are just born courageous, and live their life that way. That is not to say that many don't have that one, or two, courageous acts in them, it's that there are those that run to the fire and ones that either stay put or run the other way. I would like to think that everyone can act courageous in certain circumstances, but experiences have taught me otherwise, there are those that would run at the slightest sign of danger, leaving it to someone else to deal with it.
  17. Seems like a class-action lawsuit in the works to me.
  18. I see nothing wrong per se, it is a matter of perspective, just depends on what side of the door you happen to find yourself on. If the gunman had started banging on doors and the teachers opened it, he would be dead or crucified by all. I don't necessarily view him as a hero though, as that word gets thrown out way too much, it's not like he shielded the kids with his body, or charged the gunman.
  19. I'm good, for the most part I have what I need, can use a buffer tube I think but they should be plentiful since it's a standard one and should still be cheap. If not I'll sell a box of .22 and get all the parts I need

    Goodbye REI

I think he meant REI, their boycott won't last long since Vista has a lot of outdoor stuff that is popular. Us?., Many of us have a long memory.
  21. An honest thief, now there is a good one.
  22. I'd Love to, but finding good crappie holes has been hard for me. I had a place I went to that did pretty good, but after the flood it just doesn't produce anymore. I was told of a new spot so I may try my hand there, I love me some crappie.
  23. The thing is, I need to raise the level, about 6-8" so tilling won't work. I know to make my own, but it takes a few seasons to work it just right. I had just moved to this new spot and started using a raised garden technique instead of just tilling. I used a bunch of soil conditioner, tree bark like, and compost , as well as some gypsum to break up the clay top soil I purchased. I should be ok to move the soil I already started last year, as I am only moving it a short distance, but I have a lot of work ahead trying to get a good ph going. I have a test kit to give me the rough numbers, last year I was ok for the tomatoes, but because I started to use seed instead of buying the plants I started too late and had a bad crop. I have to keep an eye out for free compost again this year, there is always somebody with too much horse manure out there.
  24. Well, that didn't take long to register, keep it up! https://morningconsult.com/2018/02/28/firms-see-negative-responses-to-cutting-business-ties-with-nra/
  25. I need to move mine, I started it when the leaves were down last year and not enough sun hits that area. I also need better soil, but I did condition it a bit last year so it may do OK if I just move it. I wish I could afford, and find, some good black garden soil, most is TN clay. I haven't started any seeds yet but plan to this month I have my indoor starter kit all prepped and ready to go.
