  1. Comments on the NAGR(National Association for Gun Rights)? I joined a couple years ago thru a mailer/free t-shirt deal(a real nice shirt, btw), and have been re-upping each year.
  2. How do you handle the "documentation"? Just personal records and pics?
  3. Thank you for the information on this. I was totally in the dark on it. A usual state of affairs for me recently.
  4. What's the benefit of that? Isn't the SBA4 also a pistol stock...or a rifle stock? Does it then become an SBR with a rifle stock?
  5. I did catch that as well, and as I was formulating my thoughts on it...you posted a very good commentary. Thanks for expressing it so well.
  6. I've been banned from ladders after a few falls in the last couple years. Not from ladders though, just face plants while trying to walk. We do have 6" gutters, but with all the trees around here, it doesn't take long for them to fill. I swear that the squirrels are using the gutters for storage. Lots of nuts and hulls washed out during cleaning. I just hired a neighborhood "handyman" to clean our gutters. He charged me what I thought was a fair price. From what I could see, he did an excellent job. At least we had no overflow issues yesterday with all the heavy rains. I hate having someone else do my "chores," but it's a necessity as I get older. Still stinks though.
  7. Impressive. Like the look. The handles really are different. Not quite sure how I feel about them. Perhaps a bit "busy" with the polished Damascus? But just my taste. Very much a new look, and as I said, impressive work.
  8. The problem is...I didn't see any in the crop of candidates that led me to believe any positive changes would be coming if they were elected. All I heard was different ways of saying "I'm gonna raise your taxes." from each of them. Hate to lose the family home, but sure looking to leave Metro someday soon.
  9. I agree. I have a BDA that I've owned for so long I can't remember when I bought it. Great size, good capacity at 13 rounds, and shoots well. But has more felt recoil from a 380 than I ever expected.

    Anyone

Yep. Unless it's a bowie style...(for my wife. Really. She wants a Bowie.)
  11. Are you referring to myself and a certain former EN, yamika wearing gentleman, who have been known to like flashy, shiny things?
  12. I saw 400 range pricing on some variants this morning. GunPro? Evidently many choices in the line. What you guys got, steelharp?
  13. Russians do know how to "adopt". Just fixed that for ya. lol
  14. I like it!!
  15. For what it's worth...I've never owned a derringer of any sort. Always thought I'd like one, preferably a High Standard in 22 Mag. I've shot several HS models and a few Bond as well. For me, far more trouble than they are worth. The weight, as Rob says, is awful, and the triggers are worse. Cleaned a HS 22 mag for a friend that had left it in a closet. Yep, the ammo was green, and crud fouling everything. I took it down as far as I dared, soaked it in Hoppes 9, and got my dental picks out. Got in clean, put in fresh ammo and shot a few rounds. Did I say I hated the trigger? It's terrible. It measured at 14-17 lbs. Gave it back and I think it went back into her closet. To top it off, I find myself still thinking that I want one.
  16. Many good thoughts on both sides of this question. Yes, being a bit wishy-washy on it, but I think the trend towards optics on handguns has gotten off with a bang, and likely will continue. I'm just an old, fat man, with bad attitudes and old school perspectives. lol Only time and use of these will tell of its acceptance on the Shield and smaller pistols.
  17. I have too many Shields now to be buying another one. A long story for another time. Milling the slide on one? Not sure I would go to that expense on a Shield I'm not sure of this concept. For my purposes, the Shield is a close range weapon. I have trouble seeing the need for an rmr on it. But that's just me. Guess I'll have to adopt a wait and see mode for this one. Now on a little bigger frame, say the 43x, or a bit larger, yes. I see that as a range aid, and for defensive purposes at longer distances. But if we have accepted the thought that most defensive situations needing a handgun will be within 20-25 feet; does that really allow time for a red dot sight? That situation is where I see the use of a laser system. Again, JMO.
  18. A couple questions please. Can you be specific on what Red Dot you have, and mounting on a Shield? How will you be doing this?
  19. Since we're still talking PSA here...just go and get the now OD Green Upper and Lower combo. Buy a couple of mags and some ammo. This is, IMHO, the best way to get started with an AR. Cheap complete rifle to get you going. Go shoot it and see if you like it enough to keep going with the platform. Then worry about all the other things like upgrades and such. For under 300 for a complete rifle, you can cheaply learn a lot. Really.
  20. OK...I just googled Big Horn Armory. Oh My Stars and Garters!! Such things as I would not see again! Nor would I attempt to shoot them. lol
  21. You just ain't right! lol
  22. I think GrabaGun has the Ruger AR 556 at that now. Like others here, I've bought parts kits, complete uppers, complete lowers, and Complete rifles from PSA. They've been very good. And at these prices...it's practically a giveaway. I've paid way more for uppers than this U/L combo. I keep wanting that 179 upper. Have a lower just waiting for it. Must try and run it by the wife first though.
  23. Looking and thinking don't cost nothing. Heck, I think about a lot of things I can't buy. lol
  24. Thank you to billmeeks and Mamba...this is good information. My only contact with this type of product was at the NRA convention a year or so ago. At that time, I was told that with a pistol inserted, it was considered an SBR. Maybe that was a version without a wrist brace of any sort.
  25. Well...as I said in the Post your Pics section to your post... I've been looking at them. Would like to get one I think. What's your take on the one you have? Any problems or concerns? Is it still considered and SBR and have to get a tax stamp?
